Hello everyone! For our #10 we did Porter Mountain and for our #11 we did Cascade Mountain. My wife decided to join us as a special guest on this hike for her 1st and 2nd high peak!
Cascade and Porter are considered two of the easiest high peaks to climb with Cascade having an awesome view at the summit. The view did not disappoint us and we really enjoyed how short the hike was, lol. We took our time as it was my wife’s first hike and it took us about 6 hours and 15 minutes to complete, which means we took a lot of breaks and enjoyed the summits.
Although I loved the summit I found this hike to be my least favorite so far because of how wide the trail is due to popularity. We went on a Thursday morning and it was well populated. The trail over to Porter was muddy but having this been our 10th and 11th peak we already expected mud. The trail up to cascade’s summit was a very short hike from the junction and was a very fun climb.
This will probably be our last 2 summits for the summer as my boys are now into sports, it’s been a great summer and we are already planning for next summer. Best of luck for everyone and stay motivated!
