What you did at 8:40/8:50 is why you had to add the 'data field' again at 15:00. You would have replaced the 'Update' value at 8:40 with the actual value of the drop down it would have updated the field. like Update = ddDevice.Selected.Value and that's all you needed. But rest was great. Note that if you list has lookup instead of string values it requires some changes to work

I've watched the link you have provided.Somehow i was not able to correlate with my scenario, but i applied the technique suggested by you. It was not working, i know i made some where an error. My requirement, the Master datasource in on Sharepoint with single text fields. I've Geography list with Region, Country and State. In PowerApps, the Region, Country and State fields are imported as Text input within every datacard. from Master datasource. I've made the REgion field as mandatory. I've inserted the ComboBox inside every datacard (Region, Country and State). First tested with, regioncombox1 and mapping geography list with distinct command to eliminate duplicate - works good. RegionCombox1 Default Selected Items was blank which has to be wired with Regiondatacard. So, i applied [Parent.Default], which can be the value and Displaymode as Parent.DisplayMode. The Regiontextinput field in the Region datacard was not deleted. I instead wired that default property value with "RegionComboxBox1.Selected.Result". After Publishing it, I'm able to select the field from dropdown and save. View page works good. But when i edited the record, though the region selected value displayed on the screen, I was not able to save the record. It throws me an error message as if there is value. I've to reslect the region to save the record. I know somewhere, i'm missing. But not sure exactly where i'm failing
Hi Daniel, Thanks a lot for this useful tutorial. I've been struggling with multiple criteria lookup in my database for a few days, and I believe this can help. I can't make it work yet though. Maybe because I'm working with CDS. A few questions for you: - Is it mandatory to use several data sources (your different lists) to make it work? I can get complicated with 5+ criteria - What is your "Text" refers to in your Sort and Filter formulas? This seems to be the source of my error message. Cheers, Victor

Hey Rob, The write back is done to only one list. I am doing reading from 4 other lists. I have been successful in writing back to 6 data sources simultaneously using the patch function without to much performance issues.
It is indeed good tutorial but in my case it is not working , I need some help. My sharepoint data is list 1(floors): one column with floor list list 2(Equipment): Column1: Equipment list : Column2: Lookup column to Floors in list one list 3(Readings): Column 1: Lookup column to Equipment from list 2 Column 2 : Lookup column to Floors from list 1 Column 3 : Readings i am creationg powerapps from list 3 powerapps i took two dropdowns , ddfloors and ddequipments ddfloors: Items: Floors ddequipment: Items: Filter(Equipment, Floors = ddfloors.Selected.Value) so now , ddequipment is showing me error (green underline in ddfloors). I tried hard but still showing error. How can we solve error and get cascading dropdown list in powerapps?
