When we transport expensive equipment, cases are nice to protect them from the bumps and bruises. However, there is no commercial case for the Celestron CPC 11" EdgeHD. In this video, I show how I adapted a Dewalt tool box to a telescope case.

I wanted to thank you for making this video! On your recommendation I bought two 63 gallon DeWalt boxes. One I use for my CPC 925 XLT and the other for my CPC 1100 Edge HD. What I discovered after packing my OTAs is that you can secure the tripod on the top where the aluminum tray fits exactly into the grooves on top of the DeWalt case. Then you just bungee them down and transport the entire telescope along with its accessories. Really nice suggestion and saved me and probably many hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Thank you

I think Dewalt needs to sponsor your channel! I love how you are using something made for "another purpose" and converting it into what you need it to be! I have done that myself many times. It's oddly satisfying. Now to see what kind of Dewalt case will be used for the star charts!! 🤣Great video Moose!

Hellava telescope!!! I just bought a used Dob 8 inch as my really first scope. I had made one and bought a cheap on for the eyepieces. Great channel

Great idea. With the rails on the lid you can strap the hoist and or the tripod so that everything is in one place.

Thanks for the video, very informative. Just bought one of these from Home Depot for my CPC 925. Planning to carve some Kaizen foam that I have left over from a previous project and glue it to the inside. Thanks for the idea!

I do not have box any longer as sold telescope but I think I remember box as 65 gallons

Thanks for your response. I am planning the Celestron CPC Deluxe 1100 HD telescope to my mobile observatory, and makes all the possible inquiries before buying - including all the extras. I would love to hear your opinion on the sharpness of viewing through a telescope. Do you remember if the image was as sharp as a knife (Jupiter and Saturn for example) or were you disappointed by it. @@MooseHenderson1

I did the same thing with my CPC 1100, but I need a cover for the visual back when removing the star diagonal, any suggestions? My case is also from Home Depot, its a Husky (btw).

Mine has a little plastic insert for the visual back that came with scope when shipped

My apologies, you are correct, amazon has this named the same as the box I obtained from home depot. I have changed the link to a stanley box that will work
