Congrats to Casio! Opposite to so many boring designs of their analog watches, this one looks so refreshing. I really hope they'll start producing more interesting analog designs like this one. For example, I'd like to see MQ-24 in a steel case and with various color options, and with tough solar. Tho, I guess they don't want to do that, because they'll step into Citizen's territory. Maybe they have a deal... who knows?

@@ebin2868 Not many Edf to choose from, since 90% of them are cronographs. And I didn't see anything new from this series. Classic MTPs are pretty much all boring, except Duro. Further on, only 2 basic models from the Oceanus line are interesting, the rest are too busy...and expensive. All the rest interesting Casio analog models are either discontinued, or very rare to find. This one is not my cup of tea (I prefer field/pilots), but I still like they've dared to make something new, considering their usual product lines.

I kinda like it. If Casio could get the price down to around $60 (which I think they really could, it's pretty simple) and made it more available and known, they could have a hot seller. Or if they left it at $100 put/make a module that added a few features like solar and provided a mesh band. I think the design and look of the watch has a LOT of potential.

I used to love smartwatches but I may have already been past that phase. Sure they are useful but they just don't last, I loved the features but over the years I began to use them less and less, the daily charging became a hassle, and longevity after 5+yrs it'll probably be replaced or in the garbage dump somewhere. I began to slowly appreciate good old school watches more pay less for something that lasts nearly forever, hell my childhood g-shock still works just need to replace the resin bands and it will be good to go.

I have a Timex Smartwatch that also has a strong resemblance to an Applewatch, people have mistaken it on severla occasions. This may not have smart features but the stainless steel case and moonphase are a nice trade.

You said moonphase has 29 steps so you have to change it every two months. I checked it and it actually takes 59 steps to complete the whole circle and not 58. At 29 steps place of moon is actually a little bit different than what was there initially. So it is actually the real moonphase which takes more than 2 years (and not just 2 months) for it have error of 1 day and not 2 months. I hope you recheck and give your comments.

I was looking to buy a moonphase watch some months ago and this Casio came up in my search. Casio also does a round face version for this model with many choices of colour. It was really tempting for me, especially the round-face turquoise/tiffany blue one, but I opted for a vintage Casio moonphase instead. Casio has made many moonphase watches over the decades, some of which are really nice as vintage timepieces now.

I kinda like it! I don't wear an Apple Watch and am usually not much of a fan of square/rectangular watches. I probably won't spend $100 on one but on down the road, if a used one comes up for $30 to $50, I might snag one. I'm definitely a fan of Casio in general and anyone that trolls Apple gets a vote from me.

It looks ok to me. The thing I love about a quartz is that I can just pick it up and throw it on with little fuss. This thing just feels like it has too many fiddly bits to keep track of and futz around with such as moon phase and date complications especially if it is only worn a few times a month.

It's OK. I've owned lots of Casios but this one really doesn't ring any bellls. Not all that impressed with the value for $100.00. Seems like a basic cheap and generic watch even with the Casio branding and the moonphase.. There's nothing wrong with that but i'm not throwing $100.00 (or $250.00) at it.

I've got a casio Janus at-550 finger trace calculator watch from 1982 and to be fair I'd say that it is pretty much the same shape case (with the exception of hooded lugs) as the apple watch design which begs the question who's trolling who ? 🍏🤔

Not so much an emotional rollercoaster this one, as much as an emotional waltzers. Concept & thumbnail gave me no choice but to look. First impressions were a bit anticlimactic. Then you get into the details & see between the contrast of polished case with brushed back & dial, the gunmetal hands, and the changing multi-emoji “face”, it’s many watches in one while still staying, well, less formal than business casual, but subtlety whimsical. Yeah, that’s the best word for it; whimsical. Which is what a good-hearted trolling should be I guess. Casio hit this one out of the park.

I suppose frowny face is better than a smiley face moon phase. Actually although it copies the rectangular shape, the straight vertical sides and built in lugs are very not Apple. And most Apple watches are not shiny. And given the choice of screwing around setting the day of the week by endlessly turning the crown and having an Apple Watch that is always right I know which I would take.

Its a bit of a low bar to aim at, Apple put a fair amount (but not enough) of effort into functionality but aesthetically they are just crap. The Casio is a about a million times better looking and as a watch more useful, no charging every few days. I dont like moonphase watches but they've got this spot on, when the moon isnt showing it looks like a frowning face, pretty appropriate.
