@@GirlLove4Ever not to me because most of them are action oriented. In simons quest you have to go from town to town trying to piece together clues and information from the towns folk to get through your journey. I don’t know of to many game that do that in a 2d format. It’s just more rpg like them the rest of the castlevanias I think
Castelvania Adventure imo got the best soundtrack. Loved that game as a kid, but it was too hard for me. Dang, I really wanna see more Gameboy games on the Switch.
I really like your reviews but I felt this one was more of a hit and miss. You mentioned the controls but you didn't say anything about the button remapping option in the game. The collection also got patched to include the JPN version of each game which have different difficulties, sometimes different soundtracks and religious depictions on them that were removed when localized. The framedrops in Super Castlevania IV have always been there and you didn't mention the History of Castlevania - Book of the Crescent Moon Bonus book at all, which is in my opinion, one of the best if not THE best Castlevania compendium for these classic games that I'm sure any Classicvania enthusiast would love to read. I think this is actually one of the best collections of retro games released so far this generation, specially if you haven't played Castlevania at all or if you are a big fan of it.
These lazy emulation are just a collection of lazy ROMs running on decades-old emulators developed by hardworking nonpaid emulation enthusiasts. The only WORK these kinds of lazy cash-grabs involve an hour or two for creating the game selection UI.
don't buy the switch version. They fucked up the Aspect Ratio. There is no way to play 4:3 WITHOUT scanlines. So the type most people would play the game is not possible in the switch version.
Not sure to say the same for PC though I heard both PC and Switch have the two nasty crash bugs in the Castlevania NES version which is at the pre hallway reaching to Death and fighting Dracula on the 2nd phase woth the cross. (These bugs didn't occur in the GBA version nor the original NES) Hope an update will approve the collection of 1.1.0 because it's silly seeing 1.1.0 without anything being done.
