Castlevania: Spectral Interlude Walkthrough, ZX Spectrum 

I'm kinda sure, there are some kind of "memory expansion trick", same as they did with many new C64 games

Then you have not seen anything really. This game doesn't use any color trickery and what is even worse doesn't change color attributes on any given screen at all leading to all "sprites" (if we can call them that) having color of the background. It would be preferable if character and enemies had their own colors even if that caused color clash on the background. Other than that it is possible to change color attributes per any scanline (with some limitations but still, and it looks great in games supporting it) and Castlevania doesn't do any of that color trickery magic. I would give this credit to Metal Man Reloaded or Remixed.

There would not have been that much point moving on to 16 bit machines with this level of quality, something to be learned from this

miles Jackson yeah indead the graphics are just sooo amezing that there was no reason to move quick to newer 16bit machines, many 8bit games did also had paralax scrolling to mimmick 16bits graphics, i am sooo fashinated with old computers, this is just simply amezing!!!

In 1986 this would have been at the top of the charts for a long time. This is a perfect example to show to any C64 or Amstrad owner

Chaw dropping, they pushed the hardware over it’s limit, even early nes games can’t top this in terms of graphics,wow!!!

it was made a few years ago by castlevania fans, it wasn't available in the 80s/90s so yeah it is new and definitely is the kind of game that is far more value than most short or arcade like zx spectrum games and not to mention free!

Same problem here. The tactic in this video doesn't work.

So I might be a bit late here but you can download a Spectrum +3 DSK image here spectralinterlude.com/#download You can then use a utility called dsk2tap to create a .TAP file from the DSK file which you can play into the real +3 and write the image to a blank +3 disk. I have done this and it's amazing, it saves and loads your progress on the disk and everything!

Yes it runs fine on any of the 128K models.

RZX Archive That's rather impressive then! I've seen plenty of homebrew that wouldn't actually run for their respective real machines.

The only problem is that it takes almost 11 minutes to load.

So. Most people would pick up a copy of their favourite Spectrum magazine and read that while it loads. That is normal.

mrpositronia 11 minutes is long even for a speccy game.

There is a program called wh load I think and you can transfer to tape you need to have a tape deck and an ear to mic lead from your PC to the tape deck bear with me and I will find the link
