I'm really getting sick and tired of this reparations issue. As a black woman with Native American ancestors as well, I find it to be an insult that you're going to wait all this time to give reparations to a group of individuals who are too selfish to understand the true history of it in the first place! As a millennial I find it to be an insult and if anyone gives me one red dime despite the fact that I know my true history, I would send it right back to the government. Japanaese Americans recieved reperations in the 1980s for being held in camps for about 3 years during WW2 ,and there wasn't much of an outrage about that. Most people dont even know that happened. Reparations were paid during the Civil War with blood (550,000 troops dead, 400,000 wounded and untold civilian casualties) and, by some estimates, Billions to hundreds of Billions (modern day equivalent) of dollars in total damage.
But what happen to blks soon after the Civil War? KKK , no 40 Acros and a mule. The northern troops left in 1877 as a part of a compromise with the South. And the "newly freed" blk slaves got "Jim Crow" along with Convict Leasing as a new from of slavery. There is a type of Karma in Blood Reparations. But of itself it does not make blk people whole and prosperous.

The way to make reparations is to allow every person who is descended from a slave to get a free quality education for one generation. The US would get a lot of very qualified workers, and it would lift most of the black community into the middle class.

I'm originally from San Antonio and was born and raised at the school district where his dad taught at, it's still one of the worst and poorest districts in the State he couldn't take care of it when he was mayor and expects to take care of a nation. Wake up and stop spending the money on your campaign, donate it to the poorest school district in Texas.
