I love your guides, IMO they are the best for cata encounters, you explain everything clearly and you actually use the video to show what you are talking about (something which most guides dont do)!! These videos need more views!

cata classic here- tried this last night on ten man, and wiped like 5 times. ive been doing all my raid leading based on these videos, i find period correct vids to be better, even tho theyre slightly different. thanks for the vids, but as soon as i heard 'one winged angel' lol, gotta tell ya, def an appropriate song for this fight xD

@OMFGcata Thats one of the greatest game (and movie) themes. Really love the rock and metal areas of this song.

I don't watch strategy vids often, but when I do, I do it for the sprites.

Jesse one more thing to note: If Onyxia is not being dpsed enough her energy bar will increase faster. Having every single person switch to Nef will cause her bar to raise quicker and will result in a wipe. It's just something I thought may need to be mentioned. It's recommended that you keep a few ranged classes on her.

With the choice of music at the end, i just had to picture someone saying "Good to see you... Onyxia." And at the end of the battle, Nefarian declaring "I will... never be a memory."

All the pretty green numbers popping up from your healing rain makes me want to make a shaman.

@majpain727 Hunters are commonly advised to keep dps on Nef, they will push another 10% electrocute during this time since the add does not move from his spot but rather spins to attack his highest threat target. There doesn't really need to be a tank for them but your plate dps will mostly have aggro anyway making it easier to heal. 10 man is a different story entirely, but may fall under the same rules considering the adds do not move from their position.

Hey guys! I downed Nefarian 10man normal just last night in BWD with a full guild group. The one MAJOR thing besides the complex strategy, is getting the flow of the fight. Once you know exactly not only YOU should be but your team mates, you'll feel a billion times more at ease. I'm a strictly PvP Holy Paladin, and only came as a favor to my guild, I did this entire raid and Nef in full pvp gear, healing. What he says is true, "If I can do it so can you"

Would you say this is harder in 10m than Cho'gall is? I've heard Cho'gall is the worst in 10 (and I can attest to that as my group wiped on it for something like 4 weeks before suddenly one shotting him one week o.O;). We've attempted Nef a little (gonna finish Al'akir off first!) and the first phase was an incredible mess, mainly with the adds. We had a dps kiting them and then tried hunter pet tanking them (which apparently had been done before) but ughh... glad this video is out now though!

The Intro would fit a Cho'gall strat better. The dark corruption swallowing the screen, then the eyes popping out definitely look like it belongs on Cho'gall. either way, great intro.

Cata was still fun for me with my guild, after that not so much

@OMFGcata the shadowflame barrage in p2 makes also splash damage with a short range, so if you stand split you can avoid some dmg on the grp ;)

Just an annotation to add to you video that you may want to add to your video, there is a sweet spot below's ony belly where you can dodge both the tail swipe and the electricity so dps (except hunters) can stack there

i killed this on 10 man after week after week of attempts, the screams and cheers on vent were electric (pun completely intended) this is easily one of the hardest fights Blizzard has ever made, not the hardest but definately in the top 10

You should make more full dungeons and with the boss strats and stuff.

@EgoSlayer It's kinda hard to compare, it really depends on your raid composition. I find Cho'gall easier since it's more of a dps style fight while the few times I've fought Nef it's all come down to Phase 2 and it's more about healing and interrupting. In the Nef fight my guild starts with a DK on Onyxia. When adds come out a Pally picks them up and another pally takes Nef. DPS gets Ony down to 20% then we focus on getting Nef down to 80%. At 80% we push Ony and go into phase 2.
