There is an instrumental tune produced by Enya called the Celts that was released on one of her first albums. This tune for the Night Elves reminds me of that in the mood and feel of the music. Very well done!
Cata sucked ass. The only good thing about it were the relatively challenging dungeons in the beginning, but other than that there was absolutely nothing good about it.
When I think back to cata, I actually had a lot of fun in PvP during that time. Ofcourse nothing compared to WotLK and before. But it still wasn't that bad.
cataclysm was the beginning of a long line of trash, i don't recognize the game one bit, i miss the days when Dalaran was the shit, they tried to bring it back with Legion but bitch no WOTLK forever.
I don't think many people realize ths, I think one of the reason we pay so "much" for this game is because of qualities like these. The melodies really emphasizes the greatness of Azeroth. You can easily tell they've put some time into composing these great pieces of music art.
When this starts to play in the Worgen beginning... I doubt anyone stopped (unless forced to by RL...) until the battle was over. It's one of the best game tracks ever.
Music like this is what makes wow more polished, makes its players more emotionally involved in the story, than any other knockoff out there. Tracks like this are actual *art*..and art is the expression of emotion. I can't imagine listening to this and not feeling something..whatever it inspires in you.
Damn I love this composer! Used to be Metal for me, but I think games like wow are bringing on another era of classical music. Soon we'll have it on the radio.

I see a better world with more nature's gifts and more peace when hearing this song. Precisely, this is exactly what i wanted for a home, peace. The atmosphere is cool, misty and windy, the beautiful untouched landscape brings joy to the eye of the beholder. When attacked, i will fight to defend my beloved home. No one can take my home away, no one. For the gods, for victory, down to enemies.
F'in amazing thats all I have to say about it. for someone who grew up with an atari 2600 it's shocking how far games have come. Would have never imagined music like this in a video game when i was a kid. Blizzard really nailed it with cata music. This soundtrack is a benchmark that will take many years for other game companies to reach.
Love this music. And as for where it plays in-game, you can hear it through out Ashenvale. I recall hearing it a fair bit when you entered into the areas that fights where being fought out (generally Alliance quest areas.).

That's why it should be more than ONE movie! The alliance: a dominating force trying to establish a force of what it believes to be right and true. The Horde: a coalition of beings trying to redeem itself of corruption, yet trying to establish itself as something to say "WE ARE HERE, WE ARE PROUD" of independece! The movie could easily go beyond a trilogy! We need a series, like Harry Potter did!

I was on my Blood Elf when I flew through the Lower Wilds in Feralas and heard this song. Had to stop my quest to sit around and listen. Hot damn Cataclysm came out with some TREMENDOUS music.
I remember the very start of this song playing during an early alliance quest in Twilight Highlands out on a sinking boat. A night elf ghost emerges from the sea and then this songs starts playing, I was amazed by how fitting this was for that quest.
Its Tuesday so of course all of us players have some downtime. I got this song playin right now...... and all i wanna do is log in and play alllll dayyyy! Thumbs up if you agree with me and having the same feeling!
The best Cataclysm OST - "Citizens of Azeroth.....Behold!" I played that cimematic so many times before they released this track on RU-vid. Sadly it was the last xpac for me. I lost too many good friends :(
Suddenly, you close your eyes, feel nature grasp your soul, and your suddenly a might bear. And then a swift cat. Amazing, I love druid night elves. If any class should be a druid, for sure night elves.
i embrace the changing face of wow, I burnt out after wotlk, came back a few months before MoP, caught up on my characters and am loving it all over again, fly through a low zone and the music just brings back so many memories. the music, atmosphere and friendships are the main reason for playing this game. theres something in it for everyone.
This is the most amazing music I have heard in a very long time...When the drums kick in it truly sounds epic and I began to get some major chills. At 1:38 and on I can imagine a night elf running through a forest with only the full moon as light. Also I can imagine whisps floating around while they cast some type of arcane spell or summon. If there was any doubt as to who is the coolest most magical race in WoW this song I think proves just who is.
This is the best sountrack a video game ever offered , its absolutely amazing . Not a night elf my self nor alliance ,but everyone who plays one should be proud :)
I just heard this for the first time today while in game. I had to stop what I was doing and just listened, and then immediately looked it up in youtube. This track starts out so beautifully. Thank you Blizzard, you are so much more than games, you are composers, you are artists. Thank you for posting this song :)
Damn I love this, my 5 years of only playing Night Elves and having become skiled with the Night Elf race in Warcraft 3 makes me have a bond to them and this music brings tears to my eyes.
I might piss some people off for saying this but I think this soundtrack is now on par with the LotR and Star Wars ones. Hats of the the composer and to the uploader.
I gotta say...the new music for Cata is fantastic. I've played this game for years and this is the first time I've ever sought out the soundtrack. Very good stuff.
I'm glad made you happy, but there's a ton of old games that are remembered after years...WoW's predecessor, Everquest, comes to mind. I will never forget that game either.

Mists of Pandaria is a great expansion. So much lore about the titans, the old gods and the burning legion. My favorite Expansion with burning crusade.
High Elves today exist throughout Azeroth and Draenor. Large pockets of them exist in Theramore, Stormwind, Quel'Lithien Lodge (later most became wretched due to an artifact), Quel'Danil Lodge, Farstrider Lodge, Allerian Stronghold, Dalaran, and according to the now mostly non-canon RPG books, there were settlements near Quel'thalas that are High Elven, most likely referring to the unused zone, but of course, that could be false due to the nature of the RPG books.
Warcraft is about a war between two factions, and Blizzard has pretty much forgotten that. Vanilla had war with all those pvp zones, TBC and Wrath had no war cause both sides knew that the Burning Legion and the Scourge were more important. Catacylsm started to bring back the war with Garrosh in charge of the Horde (but it was put in the background cause Blizz was too busy glorifing Thrall). Now in MoP its full scale war, thats why MoP is so good, its going back to what Warcraft truly is: A WAR
If it was possible I would trade everything I have, even my life, to wake up one day in this beautiful world. The nature, the creatures, the people (don't mean humans only). I would love to see night elves, to spend time in their beautiful forests. I would love to visit human and dwarf cities. I want to go Silvermoon city and see beautiful blood elves. I would love to meet taurens and orcs. I would love just to be there, wherever it is, just there...
I love this song soooooooooo much. I has all my favorite things from WoW music: Elvin Singers, Horde War drums, High/ Blood Elf string instruments, Tauren folk wind instruments, and a little tiny bit of alliance brass. Love it soooo freaking much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is normal, people usually start to hate stuff when them become popular. To be honest, the historical context of the first three expansions was the better, because we had seen it on Warcraft, but the gameplay is much better now and the context is good too, it's just new.
WoW isn't dead as long I will play and explore the new expansions.. Cataclysm was a good expansion, Pandaria is just boring but at the end I still love WoW

@aevilpresnts I was under the impression that the Alliance hated the Forsaken because they keep viciously attacking and turning people into Undead servants, and that the Horde hated the Forsaken because they never listen to orders and, again, keep turning people into Undead servants. When you think about it, those are some very good reasons.
I flew on my Proto over Azshara to get to Hyjal, and when the music came to the calm part at 1:36 the Proto started to glide through the air... It was so fucking epic and so GOOD TIMING!
Interesting! The moment Cata released, I created a Worgen and enjoyed the flavors of Gilneas before steamblasting through the rest of the continent. I was literally stopped in my tracks when I heard this come from my speakers during a quest in Feralas. I was aiming for one of the first level 85 Worgen (leveled), but I didn't mind taking some sweet time to enjoy this piece of epic.
