Little bonus C&C this week as I ventured back out front. I didn't quite expect to run into these fish but they were an awesome surprise! I started off trolling split-tail shads and those were bombed in half. I worked Hogy epoxy jigs for no luck. I finally switched to crippled herrings and did quick work on a few Spanish macks to 28". Very cool fish and good fighters and it was time to take them back to the kitchen.
I marinated the fillets of the big fish in mayo, olive oil, sriracha, and fresh basil for 30 minutes. I broiled it for about 13 minutes. The fish was pretty amazing. Glad to have these fish around!
