Congratulations on your first Sturgeon! I know the pain of being out there, its tough. The harder the fish is to catch the more rewarding it is to get one. Great Job!
@@aarons4115 Hi Aaron. I know I want to get another video out soon too. I had a surgery 1.5 weeks ago. Should be able to get back on the water in the next week.
That's awesome, Congrats. I grew up fishing sturgeon on the bay/sloughs. One word of warning, don't stringer the fish before measuring. If a Warden sees that you'll get popped.
@@joerosa170 yet he didn’t, he put it on the stringer then measured it. Guess it really doesn’t matter anymore probably never be able to fish them again anyway. Sad really I more than likely won’t be able to pass on the tradition.
Nice job! I just got my first Dino as well last month. Setting that hook and feeling the tug is one of the most exhilarating experiences I've had kayak fishing. Congrats again.
My granddad made a spread that's awesome. Smoked sturgeon with egg and green onion to taste then food processor it(not too smooth), eat on Ritz crackers
I'm picking up a feelree lure 13.5 next week . Can't wait to do this. I also waited a long time and lots of overnight trips in my cuddy cabin before I caught my keeper sturgeon . Nice job and commentating was on point .
Good stuff yo where did you launch to get there or you did the whole workout from the launch ramp to there🤣🤣🤣....one of the best rewarding catches on a kayak
set the hook so hard the beanie flew off lmao I couldn't stop laughing for some reason but that fish was awesome always wanted to catch a sturgeon such a cool fish crazy how long they live
Congratulations you did it all on your own. I caught my first sturgeon around 1978 a 74” from the bank with ghost / mud shrimp we got ourselves. Since then my largest 8’3” with a guide on the Columbia River. Any congratulations again.
Great job on the Sturgeon. Out of interest, those fish that were surfacing, any idea what they were after and any chance you could fish for them on the surface? Love your channel and tell everyone about it.
They used to be but due to a size regulation to keep them they have made a great recovery in the sf bay area and the delta and even the Sacramento River. These fish are caught now all the way up the sac river to redding.
Very nice video. Shrimp marks in sand are called "dimples" same as for razor clams. Lobster gloves for digging? Nice music with drone shots. Who's doing the drone work? Congrats on your 1st; I'm sure it's not your last.
Don't need an exact location but can you catch ghost shrimp in the same beaches where you find sand crabs? And where along the beach like where the water comes up to and do you have to go in low tide? Fiiiiishhh oohhhnnn
Sure you can! I turned mine twice after it spooled me twice. 6’-/1”,135lbs. from the alameda rock wall. This was approx. 35years ago. I regret not letting it go.
And don't be embarrassed about how many times it took to land a stuergon they are elusive and the bites are so subtle it can be hard to detect. Good job brother
There are tidal Apps you can download on your phone, I use "Tides Near Me," you can also look up buoy markers which convey similar info. I'm in the same are here as Die Hard & Fisherman's Life
When you catch your own bait, #4-its local to the fish you’re trying to catch too 😉 Also, why don’t you ever mention the body of water you’re at? Curious, from WA state by the mighty Columbia!!
