In this video you’ll find below Wolf Creek Dam fish the Hatchery Creek during the trout spawn. There’s nothing better than sight fishing a big trout. That eat can happen right then or not for a couple hours. I landed several 5+ pound fish in this video and my biggest being a little over 6lbs but with that said I hope you enjoy!!!

I was there years ago when they were reconstructing it. Today it looks like pigs in the water! Very nice. I'll have to make the trip

Headed down to Kendall to camp at the end of the month. Been trout fishing down there for 15 yrs or so but with spinning tackle only. This will be my first trip fly fishing. Can you give me a brief rundown of how you're rigged?

Pretty much just free lining with a straight 4x tippet with a white wooley bugger all I have ever thrown it works pretty good. But here lately it’s been hard to find a bigger bite

That the hatchery creek? I thought it was catch release only ?

Majority of the creek is catch and release only but the first 3 pools at the top of the creek are fair game to all anglers

I’m fly fisherman from Utah and work for a company that has a shop in Lexington. I’m being sent there. I came across your channel trying to find any type of trout fishing and you have found some nice trout everything else I have found that has been posted is all bass and bait tossing. Could I email you so as not to blow up your spot as to where I can find some nice trout in Kentucky?

That’s alright man it’s kind already a community hole there’s a lot of people that fish there it’s just kind of hit and miss. Hatchery Creek below wolf creek dam. There’s a little road called power plant road below the dam. Follow it down to the gates at the beginning of the parking lot and and it’ll take you right there! There’s a big pipe that runs under the road can’t miss it

The Cumberland River is the tailwater below Wolf Creek Dam. The dam is located in Russell County, Kentucky. Lexington is at least 2 hours from the Cumberland River tailwater.

@@JGF2295man I was there over the weekend and couldn’t find the spot you was fishing at. The gates was closed as well so I’m wondering if they closed the access to get to this spot
