There you go you're supposed to have barbless hooks in Alberta

Hey! Alberta placed regulations from 2004-2011 that restricted the use of barbs. Currently you are allowed use barbs if you choose to do so. I can provide you some reference links if you'd like.

I usually just go with an Ugly Stik Gx2 rod and reel combo set for the North Sask. So much junk in there and that rod can take a beating. Then just some strong braided line.

You should try with the ice auger I bet you'll get lots of views oh boy but don't walk on the water with out a long stick so you don't fall through
