What a wonan...she has all the talents: cute, funny, very good singer and +++ I just discoverd her...what a treat. We are missing talents like that these days. Thanks to the person who made me discovered this beautiful girl. 🥳👍💃👏😃
Caterina Valente !!! Bravissima, bellissima, simpatica ! Sempre sorridente e amabile. Brava, brava, brava !!!
Happy 92nd Birthday to the greatest talent ever! I still don't understand why Caterina never had a Hollywood career while her appearance and playing was always sensational in a number of singing/dancing European films and shows.
I first heard her as a child in the 50's Then I saw her at the Royal Box at The Americana in New York. when i need a feel good moment I listen to a caterina Valente song My favorite is Till We thank you for the gift of your art and all the pleasure it has given to the world THANK YOU
she is a miracle. take a look how her body response to music difrent parts (fingers, hands, arms shoulders neck etc.) to difrent orchestra's sections... what a sensational women... what a feeling. i am shocked.
Vincent Saltarelli -- My lifetime thrill in watching Catarina Valente sitting on a stool singing with her guitar feet away from me was in 1952 at the Hotel Pierre, N.Y. city -- before Malaguena and The Breeze and I. I still dream and listen to this most prolific, versatile entertainer. Thanks to Tube, I can still see her lovely face project the sentiments of a song just like she did 67 years ago!
Very very beautiful 👍😘 Caterina Valente and Dean Martin, the two fit perfectly ! You can see and feel it that they like each other. Then such a great show comes out 🤩
I would have been two years old then. I would have loved to see her on television. She is such an amazingly talented lady! Her sense of timing, her ability to stick every note of every song, her dancing, singing, and playing the guitar, and she makes it all look so effortless.
Jeg er enig i enhver kommentar angående C.Valente. en journalist i NEW YORK SKREV i 1966: She is simple the feinest female intertainer in the world-så sandt som det er sagt!!
She retired and is living healthy and well in Lugano (Swiss). As far as I know she even appeared recently on her Facebook account with a little video, still looking gorgeous.
#Can't Believe it. Well, glad I found Ms #CaterinaValente for a little Sweet while she was still here on Earth. What an Enormous, #Charismatic and Cinq-5-Threat on Stage. Loved her, and bet #DeanMartin, #DannyKaye, #BingCrosby and ALL the old 1960 Stars did too. You'll be #Missed, #Caterina. ❤
I wonder when this was made.....If I had to guess I would say between 1965-1975......looks like it's live with a full orchestra they don't make it like this anymore.....notice how tight the top of her head shot is.....the microphone is probably right there.
............. But it has captured your mature musical ear. I was a child of the 60's, {Beatles, etc.}. I listened to what my parents listened to. That was this type of music. I sort of liked it. Later in life, I came to love this now almost extinct form of music. So glad we have RU-vid so we can appreciate this talent. I'm afraid we will never see a comeback to this ................
It's the song 'What a Night This Is Going To Be' from the 1965 Sherlock Holmes musical "Baker Street" (with music and lyrics by Marian Grudeff and Raymond Jessel) /watch?v=HupsYRiOJbY
@@borbetomagus Caterina really rescues this song. Great tempo and lyrics adjustment. She was a real super talent. Her various variety show appearances with Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby, Perry Como and others are true classics of pure entertainment.
Did anyone else notice @6.45 that Dean did not look happy as he came on for the duet? He didn’t exchange the usual banter he always had with his guest at this point but shook his head and appeared decidedly put out about something. And Caterina looked at him rather uncertainly before they started to sing. It took a couple of songs before he really seemed to get back into his usual lighthearted mood. I wonder if something had happened backstage or off-camera?
Linda Shelley , I see what you mean he wasn't his cheerful self. The second song was one he knew very well. It was a song he sung way back on the Colgate comedy hour. (I don't care if the sun don't shine) really didn't seem he was his joyful self... Hum
She's a show-woman and gives it her all, she's a perfectionist and she does it all relatively effortlessly. He was sloppy and made them both sound out of time and out of tune.
He was too drunk. She could smell his booze breath as soon as he came on set. She felt sad for him. She could never have a relationship with him because of his drinking. So sad.
Penso proprio di Roberto, peccato io me la ricordo benissimo, poi andata in America non è più tornata ,magari x qualche intervista ,x me poteva presentare qualche spettacolo importante in Italia
