My cateye strada (CC- RD300W ) was not working. Here are a few steps to trouble shoot it. My Dahon Mariner D7 with 20 inch wheels has a RD300W mounted on the front fork.
IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE IN REPAIRING YOUR BIKE, FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY BRING IT TO A BIKE SHOP THAT IS A DAHON DEALER OR KNOWS HOW TO SERVICE DAHONS!. FIX IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!**
Lets go through some trouble shooting. 1. Batteries. 2. Sensor location 3 Magnet location. 4 Computer Wireless location (should be immediately above the sensor). 5. Google Cateye Instruction manual for RD300w 6. Get circumference info for your wheel size (mine was 1515). 7. Setup the computer and you should be good to go!

Nice, detailed video. I have done a few videos on my channel on cateye strada. The number one suspect is usually the sensor and the magnet. (The distance between those two) Even the inexpensive battery can last long time. Speaking about my personal experience, I usually need to be within 5-6mm range for the magnet and sensor to work. Than if that fails, I look at the battery. Btw I subbed to follow and support. Lovely channel. Thumbs up Ivan

That is a major accident waiting to happen the location of the sensor. The sensor goes on the front of the fork and the magnet goes on the location where 2 spokes meet. The reason why the sensor must be attached to the front of the fork is when you are going 40+ km/hr and the sensor moves from bumps it will be moved with the spin so you won't crash doing a super Endo. If the sensor is in the back it will get jammed and you will wind up on RU-vid as "Moron does super Face road rash"

You look to have this the wrong side of the fork! it should be set forward of the fork NOT backwards

Put the sensor forward on the bike, then put the reader on the stem or the handle bar, it will pick it up trust me. if you dont believe me put the reader in your hand spin the wheel and check.
