We love Cathedral Rock hike in Sedona Arizona!
Sedona has a ton of beautiful and challenging trails to choose from but one that stands out for us is the Cathedral Rock trail as it offers stunning views of the amazing rock formations that make up the red rock country.
In this video, I’m going to show you parts of the trail and hopefully give you a good glimpse of what you can expect if you decide to make this hike. Im also going to give you as much information as possible to make your hike to cathedral rock stress free and safe.

my boys and i ventured out here to find ourselves. we are from allahabad which is moist comparatively. the dry weather here caused much chaffing but the red rocks brought much joy to my smaller son, Prajeet. He struggles to find joy in our world often but this time he was pleased. this was made the trip worth it in a way, even though it was in much pain from the chaffing dry air. overall i would not recommend it.

Nice video! I'm going sometime in September. Climbing down that thing looks difficult, especially that part with the tight crack.

Enjoy your trip! It’s not too bad, and the steep section at the very end is optional.

great video and explanation! i wonder when were you there? is this very hot there in July (the video time is in July 31)?
@FarmtoTravel

Yes right at the end of July of last year! Sedona is not nearly as hot as Phoenix. It was about 85-90 every day. We are from Texas and found it really pleasant. Phoenix on the other hand was SUPER hot! Something else to watch out for in July is the monsoon rain. We got lucky with blue skies and no flooding rains.

It’s a steep but pretty short hike! If you don’t have much time and are very fit, you could do it in an hour. I would allow for 2-3 hours to really stop and enjoy the views and energy of Cathedral Rock.

what time does the trail close or is it open 24/7

Good question, I didn’t see a gate but I believe sunrise to sunset. I know many people do photography here at night or stay for sunset.

@@FarmtoTravel it was amazing! It took about an hour to get up with them and 40 minutes to get down. They were excited to climb like monkeys and get dirty. Mild work, beautiful reward. 🙏🏽

@@FarmtoTravel Thank you! Your mom kicked this hikes butt so let her know I said she is a tough cookie lol. I totally understand the scary part of it. I think if anyone gets too much in their head, you somewhat mentally give up. But before I had kids, I lived life on the edge haha.

Is there lots of snakes at Sedona??
@FarmtoTravel
@FarmtoTravel 2 года назад
We didn’t see one but I know they are around. Used to them in Texas, but at least the exposed red dirt and rock ground make it harder for you to sneak up on one.

@@FarmtoTravel I live in Houston Texas. Went 2 weeks ago to Hill Country to Enchanted Rock. Almost steped on ratllesnake 🥵

@@houstonka we have 2 rattlers on camera from our enchanted rock trip. Definitely more snakes in Hill Country than Sedona!
