I have this same problem. I have an addiction that I can't just stop due to the debilitating sickness that will happen. But I realized a little while ago that after asking God countless times to help me with this that maybe He's using it to teach me something. Like you, I'm much more humble. I'm much slower to judge others, and quicker to offer compassion and forgiveness. One day I look forward to learning all I'm to know from this issue and thank our awesome God for the struggle and lessons.

Exorcists say it is as powerful as an actual exorcism. If people knew what GOD can do for US through His Sacraments, they would try harder and more often to frequent these "Gifts" of God, Who is Almighty. Is Anything to hard for Him? No. It might be hard for us, but we have to want to do God's will more than our own; and we need to ask for the intercession of the Saints...the Most Powerful being our Lady, The Blessed Mother Mary. God's will is that No one should perish...but that we would have life In abundance, and to be liberated from our sins/vices that keep us chained to the Devil and his will....which is to keep us from God, to make us miserable, and then destroy us eternally. Our Lady - by the power of the Holy Spirit of Grace and Truth - helped me quit my addiction after 43 years. It's been 7 years since she helped liberate me. Don't ever think it's too late. Yes, I agree and know exactly what you mean. My only niece gives fortune telling readings, and thinks she is a psychic. I feel it is all lies, deception and Fraudulent. I've tried discussing with her, but she becomes very defensive and bad tempered. When I point out the evil involved, and her - potentially - becoming ensnared by the Adversary and minions, she feels she is righteous, and being guided by the light, and deities I can only pray for her. But, I do not want her in or near my home. I'd be very wary, in case she had any demonic attachments. Finally, she has trials and runs of bad luck. Her mother is a devout, Catholic, who says daily Rosary and Divine Mercy. But can see no wrong in her daughter's practices. To quote an old Scottish proverb, "To a Raven, their chick is white!" So sad, so wrong.

Out of my daily prayers there are two specific ones I include One is one of many prayers of thanksgiving I say acknowledging everything I have that so many others don't have like sight, hearing, house, a bed, food realising how lucky I am (I can post it if you like). The other is a prayer for others where I pray for the graces to abandon all selfishness and that my prayers be for others: Lord help me to live from day to day In such a self forgetful way That even when I kneel to pray My prayer shall be for others Help me in all the work I do To be ever sincere and true And know that all I do for you Must needs be done for others And when my work on earth is done And my new work in heaven begun May I forget the crown I've won? So while having more money would be nice it is of this world - God has provided me enough that I am blessed, eat daily and have a warm bed so while I don't have what others may have I thank and praise God for what I do have. Instead my prayers for myself are for increases in the virtues (for example the theological virtues, the Cardinal/moral virtues); for increases in the gifts of the Holy Spirit so that I may grow in them; for the spiritual fruits of the Holy Spirit.

I think the problem is (I've seen many married women with children comment) that if he wanted to uphold women in the way the church does he should have actually spoken on all the vocations a woman may have - a call to religious life, a call to single life, that would have been more prudential. The issue is he focused on the vocation of marriage and having children which is wonderful and many of us have been blessed with however can you imagine if there was even one woman in that audience who has felt the call from God to enter religious life but like many is fighting it and then sees everyone applauding him but never once mentioning there are other vocations women can have - that could be enough for her to reject Gods call because she feels catholics around her look down on it I wouldn't want to be the one on my judgement day being asked to account for the soul of a religious that didn't enter due to me/my words/people applauding me yet never also praising the religious and single life vocations

Not true. He seems to claim that only mothers and wives can find true happiness which is false. It's a doctrine that stems from fundamentalist protestant theology. It's not what the Church teaches. Actually, Saint Paul teaches that marriage will be a source of tribulation, and therefore, celibacy is the preferable state in life. His opinion is prevalent in american traditionalist circles (both catholic and protestant). But neither the Church, not the Saints have ever taught that being a mother or wife is the best thing that can happen to a woman. Celibacy is above motherhood.

She should instead listen to the words of Jesus, who said it is better not to marry, if a person can handle it.

We know nothing like it here on earth and why would you want to be here in earth when there are war famines and pestilence? WWIII is about to start too. Perhaps it is because we women have already heard about all the rewards of a degree and climbing the ladder of success. We have heard it everywhere, from everyone, since birth!! And, if these graduates had attended a secular university, that is what they would have heard (yet again) at Commencement. So. . . Harrison highlighted the OTHER choice, which often isn't even considered until women give birth to a second child and realize that they would prefer to stay home with the children, for their sake.

In the last few days, I was thinking that those students already heard loads of praise during commencement speeches. I am thinking it's not typical for less mention of these student's achedemic achievements during commencement speeches. Maybe that's why people are so butt-hurt about his speech. I wholeheartedly agree there should be OTHER options other than needing a degree. A family is the bedrock of civilization, after all. Women should be praised for being moms and wives and not looked down upon. He shared his example of family life and where they ended up. If people want degrees, fine, but they ought to know that a degree isn't always necessary to have a happy life. And, they should know life changes. They may have that degree, but should they want to change their life circumstances, such as raising kids for instance, they should not feel guilty about it.

How did the jews survive their forty years in the desert? God provided the manna daily which they then went out to collect and only on Friday did God permit them to collect more than needed so they also had manna for the sabbath. How did Jesus multiple the fish and loaves? It is entirely possible that God who all is possible with did something similar to what He did for the jews regarding the manna - IE it is possible Noah only needed to load a certain amount of feed for each animal and God provided each time it was running low. Now whether that was a days worth of feed or enough to just feed one animal for one day we can speculate. The ‘logistics’ of this isn't a matter of faith and morals meaning the how doesn't affect our faith and morals. Whether God somehow made it so the boat Noah build could hold all the food needed for the whole time or if he did something like he did with the manna doesn't affect t our faith in God. Therefore it is not a subject the church needs to speak definitively on and because Scripture doesn't tell us we are free to speculate just how God the all powerful did this

Catholics are free to believe it is either a metaphor or that a worldwide flood actually happened or that it was a more localised flood.

Please understand that what I am posting is only my opinion. My impression is that he seems to be against any form of family planning, including NFP. Presumably, he considers any means of spacing the conception of children to be a violation of the Catholic Church's teaching on openness to life. If this is his view, it does not, in my opinion, accurately reflect Catholic teaching. See Catechism of the Catholic Church: Paragraph 2370.

Remember he is not infallible. If he and other prominent Catholics want to think nfp is bad remember in your mind that they likely only think that because they are extremely financially secure. Someone on his wage doesn't have to worry about the toll having lots of babies close together can have on the mothers body as if needed he could hire nannies to help etc. The same with many prominent catholic youtubers et al they make a substantial living off Catholics. If anything pray for them - their ignorance of life is what is showing. They disregard people in many different life circumstances. I'll give a couple of examples: 1- many married women end up with autoimmune diseases - while offering up every part of their suffering to God they are also taking immunosuppresants and certain immunosuppressants just do not mix with having children IE methotrexate. If a woman taking methotrexate were to get pregnant there is a high and huge possibility the baby will be horrifically deformed in the womb and not compatible with life. God doesn't want us to hurt ourselves emotionally over and over again and constantly getting pregnant with babies who are not compatible with life would do just that. So instead this mother uses nfp so when her and her husband feel they want a child/another child and her health is in a good place IE her autoimmune condition controlled she can work with her consultant to come off the methotrexate and wait the period of time for it to be out of her system so she can try to get pregnant and provide the optimal survival for her baby. It is prudent to realise that while having babies is wonderful the mother in this situation has to think how her health may deteriorate by not taking the medication to halt/slow down the progression of her disease or how she can cope with her disease while adding more children it is about taking into account our state of life which the church teaches - remember prudence (the ability to discern good in every circumstance and to choose right) is a gift of the Holy Spirit. So that includes having and when to have children. 2- a woman who has suffered miscarriage after miscarriage after miscarriage may not be in a position mentally and emotionally at a time to continue trying to get pregnant. She may well acknowledge that it is in Gods hands when she has a pregnancy that goes to term and a live birth however prudence has to apply here also. The woman for her own mental state may feel she needs to stop trying to get pregnant while she works with her priest, councillors etc to get to a place mentally where she can cope with trying for further children and while in many cases thr medical doctors do tests to find out why she is having so many miscarriages because often there are interventions they can do in very early pregnancy to prevent the likelihood of a miscarieage if they can find the cause. Again this is Prudence. 3- some women may decide having children or more children just isn't for them in their state of life due to mental health issues or a whole host of other reasons because they have discerned they just couldn't cope or manage to look after the child God will grace them with fully or properly. The church in her wisdom has determined that nfp is fully in accord to Gods will. Catholics who disagree are effectively saying they don't believe nor trust in Chirsts promise to St. Peter and his successors that they can bind and loose (Matt. 16:19 where as Matt. 18:18 deals specifically with binding and loosen sin) - thus their disagreement effectively makes them separated with Christs bride His church. As for the single life vocation for women. I don't think you can take his speech as a way of saying he doesn't view that as Holy and of God. He didn't speak on it so to get to that conclusion we would have to have the ability to read hearts to know how he feels about this. However with the hermeneutic of charity which all Catholics are to have I would hazzard a guess that he actually has a great respect for this vocation also because it is something the church has always taught, that St. Paul speaks of, that the early church supported and the fact we have religious sisters who if prior to their religious vocation didn't embrace this would never be nuns. I think it is a lot more that he is speaking from his experience and his state of life - IE he likely only has experience of all the women in his friends/family following the vocation of marriage. So his comments are likely more out of ignorance rather than malice regarding that topic and likely weren't fully prudent because he didn't take fully into account the numerous vocations in life the church teaches women have - however we shouldn't hold that against him as we are all sinners who fall short and he is not a scholar or theologian (now if it was a scholar or theologian who failed to speak on the vocation of single life for some women then I would have an issue because they should know better)

Personally, I think that as he is wealthy, his wife wouldn't need to earn money. But this is definitely not the case for everyone. She is working, raising the children, and wealthy lives need alot of work to maintain them. It most definitely is not a sin for a woman to work outside the home, child raising is only a short period in the scope of a long life anyway. I didn't hear his speech but if he is prescribing his life and privileges for everyone, he is wrong as it's not reality for everyone. However, if he is saying that the situation between him and his wife should be accepted by society as a good way of living, then he is right.

Any kind of contraception is definitely against the teachings of the Church. A child is a gift from God, not something that fits in your career plan.
