I am old enough to remember when the word gay simply meant gay. I went to school with a girl whose name was Gay, I do wonder what she has suffered. However, I do love the LGB community, people who have those wonderful garden railways tend to be joyful.
Matt Walsh said something the other day that really resonated with me. The mistake we make is we want to try and explain our position, why we say no. Why? We don’t need to give them a reason. It’s a no, plain and simple. I did that at work. They wanted me to march in a local pride parade, and I said no. They wanted a reason, I didn’t give them one. I don’t have to. I’m not obligated. It’s not part of my job description to go to a pride parade, much less march in it. We have been given free will by God. Use it.

great to see Catholics here in the comments who experience same sex attraction, like me. Just a couple weeks ago, I gave this attraction to God and vowed to abstain from all same sex relationships for the rest of my life. It’s an honor and sign of love to give it to God.

Last year, in a homily, our pastor was talking about the 7-Deadly Sins and when he came to pride, he remarked that that is the sin of Satan and yet a whole month is dedicated to pride in what? Sodomy? I observed only one lady slam out of the church. Hate the sin. Love the sinner. This boils down to truth telling, not joining hands and singing kumbaya.

As a Catholic who also happens to be an openly bisexual man, I am more in love with my Catholic Faith rather than my bisexuality. I love my fellow LGBT brothers and sisters and pray for them always, but I will not put my soul in jeopardy and risk eternal hell fire because I can't control my sexual urges. I am blessed to be happily married to a very lovely woman who knows about my bisexuality and supports my endeavor to become a better Catholic who carries the cross of bisexuality.

What a novel Christian idea: that we should not affirm people in their delusion that their disordered passions, no matter the cause or type, defines who they are, and are something to celebrate and be proud and self-satisfied with. When straight Catholic men such as myself have impure thoughts or gravely sin by giving our will true assent to them, we don’t go around having a parade celebrating them and pretending they are not evil.

Then her mom comes up behind her, dressed the same way. Yesterday my daughter and I were clothes shopping for her (Junior’s department) and the hemlines on 98% of the skirts was unbelievable. Very sad to see that the private schools in Ontario are 100% funded by the government. They should of never allowed that to happen. Should also not allow any Catholic schools to put up the gay pride flag. Why are some Catholics compromising their faith? You cannot serve two masters
Most Catholic schools in Ontario are not private, they are public. There are some privately funded Catholic schools. But I support public education as it should should be available to all regardless of income; there should not be a two tier system. My non practicing family put me into a publicly funded Catholic school and without it I would have never learned about my faith or had the opportunity to attend Mass. So I am grateful for it.

I think it'd be better equated to all alcoholics celebrating a drinking month. It doesn't make sense that they should celebrate the temptation that leads them into sin (drunkeness... not drinking in general) and thus separation from God.

My young son and I live only a few blocks from the park in our city which hosts most of the "pride" events... And it's going to take away my son's preferred play space. He is autistic so changing spaces nd routine is extremely uprooting for him... But, I will not have him exposed to the things which I know from experience are Not family friendly, and especially not safe for children though far too many take their kids there... Thank God, we live in a city with an immense network of parks and play and green spaces. I have decided we will be spending this entire month exploring all the other parks and hiking trails etc available. To avoid the event. It's hard to find places to shop that align with our values, but I can at least chose products or creators who do... 20 something years ago, I fell in the trap of supporting it. It has been put in the schools already... Thank God, I shifted back to God. And while I fall short of Grace daily in some way... I will never stop seeking to be better, and walk with God... Wish more could see this as a road for the soul... To be with and of God.
I have a young adult son who struggles with the worlds "in your face" presentation of the LGBQT agenda. Keep close to the Sacraments and use these moments to teach him to pray for those who are jeopardizing their souls, as well as the souls of others from what he is seeing promoted. Its strange that whenever we speak of truth against sinful vices, it means we don't understand n hate people rather than the actual issues on moral decadence. How did we get into a blinding confusion, the dark pit of ignorance n deception of truth?

Never celebrate sin. Easy as that. As for being Catholic, I love being Catholic but I also know we aren't to judge those who are gay. Praying for them is the most loving thing to to do. Only God can judge us.
Perfect summary of my own attitude as well. Not celebrating sin is my biggest priority and what I will always refuse to do. I have no problem with condemning violence or discrimination, but you will never see me support the rainbow or pride month.

I've strongly felt the societal pressure to accept sin. After awhile, subconsciously it starts to wear away at you until you begin to slip and start accepting more and more corruption as perfectly normal. Sin no longer looks sinful. It looks like happy rainbows and people loving and accepting each other (at least, that's how it appears on the outside.) Thank you for speaking truthfully on this. It's sad that our society's understanding of love has become twisted and shallow.

In this region, the most dangerous thing a woman can do seems to be getting married. We don’t have many homicides, but pretty much all of them have been the husband killing the wife. Two of my friends are dead by their husband’s hands. I haven’t seen any gay couples kill each other yet.

Thank you for the post. I needed some guidance today. To my horror, my company put on my screen background and Lock Screen the pride flag. I cannot change it myself, all rights for the changes are reserved to my company, so I am in touch with IT dept. But I need to put it in the right words so I am not labelled racist, homophobic etc. It is very tricky. Oh the devil in this is all over. Nevertheless, I will take a stand. Why should I be subjected to this movement if I want nothing to do with it. Broken world we live in.

In Dante's "Inferno", the lightest punishments went to carnal sinners. This was in recognition of mankind's inherent weakness. They need to know that forgiveness is at the core of Catholicism.
My company was bought by a foreign company. I work for a pretty big company in Portugal. As a result, they implemented new colors, and new ways of thinking, including LGBT+ pride. 😢 It made me feel very sad, I thought we were going to change for the better and now my company's entrance is displayed with the LGBT+ flag everywhere. I'm seriously thinking about quitting my job... But I'm afraid I'm exaggerating! It's a good job and people are really really good people, it's hard for me to be in a company that promotes sin... 😢😢😢 in the other hand it´s my dream job.. dont know what to do... i will pray 🙏🙏

Jesus worked exclusively with sinners and went to very sinful places. We are called to do the same, but I definitelyunderstand your dilemma. My company also really goes over board for pride month. We even added gender labels and now must take organ inventories for people who claim to be Trans, etc, but I digress. Double down on rosaries or make it a point to mention Jesus or the Sacred Heart of Jesus in casual conversations. Everytime I say "God" at work I consider it a small victory. A little, tiny light I can bring to the darkness. No need to quit your job, just bring some light into it :) you can do it with God's grace!
