Customer states, noise coming from the engine and sounds like an exhaust leak or air leak. We noticed engine noise, almost like a rattle coming from the front valve train area. Performed a compression test and the numbers were good. But once we took the top off (valve cover) and noticed on the exhaust side bolts were loose.
We set the engine to time TDC1, loosened all the bolts and began the torque sequence. This is where we found the damaged thread on one of the bridges.
The correct thing to do is take everything apart and repair the damaged bridge and install helicoils.
