I remember during the 1990 NCAA National Championship Game, after the intro, they cut to UNLV Pep Band playing this same song, and they flat out rocked it. Then, the Runnin Rebels proceeded to destroy Duke by 30 in the largest margin of victory ever in a title game. The starting center, David Butler, was a senior at my high school when I was a freshman (Calvin Coolidge Sr. High, Washington, D.C.), and he was a McDonald's All American. Of course, the Rebels were loaded with Larry Johnson, Stacey Augmon, Greg Anthony, Moses Scurry, and Tournament M.O.P., Anderson Hunt. R.I.P. Jerry Tarkanian.
@@shaneharrisnj3484 I knew they moved on from him, but I have to admit that I didn't know that let him go before that game. Still was great hearing Brent on the mic calling the game.
Remembering the great Christian Laettner of Duke Blue Devils great buzzer beaters but first one was in 1990 against the UConn Huskies at the old Meadowlands Arena (later Continental Airlines Arena and IZOD Center) in East Rutherford, NJ and the second one was in 1992 against Kentucky Wildcats at the old Spectrum in Philadelphia...
This, The Original NFL Today, and The NCAA Football on CBS (Later SEC ON CBS) are the three best themes that Network ever made or produced....end of story.
And with that year of ‘1991’ was when true March tv madness began. All 1st wknd games shown regionally on cbs including early thurs and fri aftns when ppl r working! Remember coming home from middle school those 2 aftns in ‘91 to watch.
Eric Freese This one was so much more dramatic. It really does put you in the mood for March. It’s strange that they ditched it, yet they kept the college football theme all these years. Bring It Back!
This theme music from 1987 until 1992 was heard of some play-by-play announcers: * Brent Musburger (1985-1990). * Dick Stockton (1982-1993). * Verne Lundquist (1987-2016). * Jim Nantz (1991-present). * Sean McDonough (1991-2000). * Tim Ryan (1982-1994). * Greg Gumbel (1989-1994). * Tim Brant (1987-1990). * James Brown (1990-1994).
I've been looking for a clean cut copy of this theme and credits for a very long time! Thank you so very much for this version of the CBS NCAA Basketball theme song!!!
Makes me think when they showed regional action in the tourn like tv coverage of fball. Now all games can be seen anywhere on basic cable. My fav ncaa b-ball theme ever. Best ever period!
1:21-1:46 "CBS's coverage of the 2020 NCAA Championship is brought to you by Coke Zero Coca-Cola taste with zero sugar, Resse's Peanut Butter Cups, Captial One, and AT&T.
CBS SPORTS coverage of the road to the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship is brought to you by Coca Cola:The official soft drink of NCAA Basketball and the Final Four. By Chevrolet:Find New Roads and by McDonald's: I'm Loving It.
Even though I was born during the early '80s-mid '80s version of the CBS NCAA Basketball theme song and grew up w/ the 1993 and 2003 versions, this theme song had its charm. It got your team revved up and motivated to win it all.
at 1:16 "CBS Sports exclusive coverage of the NCAA Basketball Regional Final game is sponsor by Ford and your Ford dealer Have You Driven A Ford Lately? and by the Heartbeat of America Today's Chevrolet"... This was a sponsor plug...
you wouldn't happen to have any clean animations for CBS college football or NFL themes? Or the college football one that has been used since 1987? and do you know who composed this theme?
