Used from 1981-1986. remembering the 1982 NCAA Championship Game between North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Georgetown Hoyas, 1983 title game between North Carolina State Wolfpack vs. University of Houston Cougars.
They would use it as late as 1989 (for the regular season), then for the Tournament they would use the 1987 theme. The 1987 theme would be used for the Regular Season from 1989-90 until 1992-93 and for the 1993 NCAA Tournament, they would use their more familiar theme until 2003/04, but for the Regular Season until 2005.
I got docket sheets for Freddie Brown when he was interning for a Law Firm during the Summer, I never motioned that gaffe, I felt he heard it it enough.
@@BillVol DVD’s of old games and some games on YT (e.g. 1/10/1993 Duke/GT, 1/16/1993 Iowa/Duke, 2/21/1993 Purdue/Indiana and 3/14/1993 Indiana/Wisconsin still used the 87 theme - the last time CBS used it) and in 2004-05, I have copies of Duke’s games against Georgia Tech and UNC that season, which used the 1993 theme in the intro, using the intro since 1998.
