This song really sparks thoughts about losing loved one (especially in these trying times) and being comforted by it. For personal enjoyment and perhaps for future reactions, she has many video (over 150) on RU-vid. Her performances on Norway got talent are worthwhile to listen to and are amazing to see what she was able to do at that age. She can go wild to as ‘I put a spell on you’ will show you. A beautiful live performance is ‘ Feeling good’ from when she was 10: the big TV show, not the outdoor one. This is a original song and she has more originals. I personally like 7th Heaven very much: a nice upbeat jazzy song with nice old school bass. 7th Heaven also has a live studio recording. In the video, her younger sister plays a younger Angelina, and her uncle represents her grandfather. The portraits in the hallway are actual portraits of the two grandfathers who have passed. The shoes and sweater were also his. The sketchbook she thumbs through contain the artwork later used in the lyric video, and of course the original lyrics she wrote for this song.

I agree with others who have commented that this channel needs to be "discovered". It is so much more than a reaction/analysis channel. Adding your personal feelings rather than just technical details makes it more valuable. This is not to say the technical stuff is not greatly appreciated - it is. As I listened to you I knew when you actually heard her begin to sing that her voice would match everything you found out about her. One interesting note is that, although the song was in memory of her grandpa, she wrote the song in a way so that if people experienced a similar situation she hoped they could get comfort from her words. Cecilia, continued success with all you are doing. Please, take your own advice and don't type off the page if you know what I mean. You are brilliant and the 30:40 flew by. You made reference to very young singers and the possible trouble which could alter their course as they age. Cecilia, not only for your enjoyment but to satisfy your in depth analytical qualities I strongly suggest you watch Angelina perform in the Norway's Got Talent Show. She entered the Show at 7 and turned 8 during the taping of the Show. She sings 4 songs (there is a video which covers all her performances) and you actually hear the strength in her voice growing from song to song (one of which she sings a cappella in it's entirety at 7 years old). One last thing, Cecilia, she hasn't been officially marketed yet (family decision) and Republic Records was able to sign her and come aboard only if they adhered to the wishes of her family and they are doing so. They understand they have greatness in their hands and will do everything to protect Angelina and then, in time, present her to the world. The expedition has started already. She has just recorded a sound track for a new movie, 'The Hating Game' and it will introduce Angelina to a whole new audience of contemporary music lovers. 2022 should be a very interesting year.

i believe angelina was working in the studio with stargate on this song when one of the lipman brothers ( republic records ) came in. he said to give her whatever she wanted just sign her. angelina said the main reason she signed with republic was because she was so comfortable with stargate. ...angelina's mother told republic not to promote her until she graduates. a norwegian fan said angelina was paying for all these covers she is doing in her republic studio. she was singing " at last " with jimmy z a saxophonist who worked with etta james in the studio last week... Thank you for this very well researched reaction to our 6’ tall young lady. I’ve always felt I enjoyed a well rounded appreciation of many forms and styles of music in my 72 years. Sinatra, Lanza, Elvis, Mahelia Jackson, Mathis, all 3 Tenors, etc. I even played guitar and lead vocals in a little group in high school. There are a few performances over the years that got the tears flowing, but Angelina pulls tears on so many songs and some songs get me every time I watch them! The emotions she puts into her live covers are unreal. Many of her fans have this same reaction. I liked and subscribed and will follow every Angelina reaction you do. I like several other newer singers like Aurora and Diana but the facial artistry seems too forced/fake for me. This detracts from the music.

I quite like your explanation of the differences between Angelina and Aurora. As you said, Aurora is ethereal and impressionistic, whereas Angelina is much more straightforward in terms of what she's singing, but maybe uses her enunciation and emphasis to tell the story. They're so different but both are amazing.

No matter how many times I've heard this song I can't help but get emotional..

I've watched so many reaction and analysis videos featuring Angelina and while some went into more depth of analysis you gave one of the best videos for new fans of Angelina covering her backstory and covering the meaning of this song and elements of her artistry. I feel that many people making reaction videos are just taking advantage of her success (and others) to enrich their own channels, just reposting her original work without adding anything meaningful and therefore just drawing views from her own channels. I did not feel so here as you made such a good commentary and should bring her some new fans by telling her story and featuring her work in a positive way.

I recognize that comparing Aurora and Angelina is inevitable, as they are both Norwegian, but as artists they are really not at all alike. Angelina is an accomplished jazz singer working on becoming a popular songwriter, where Aurora is an accomplished songwriter with a unique "ethereal" singing style (but not at all a jazz singer). Aurora is also 25, where Angelina is only 15. What they have in common (other than their nationality) is that they both appear to be grounded, self-motivated, dedicated to their art, and in possession of a clear sense of their own style (even though those styles are completely different). Angelina wrote this song as a tribute to her grandfather. In the video, her uncle Michael Astar (also Angelina's manager) plays the "father figure" and Angelina's little sister Juliette plays a younger version of Angelina. Angelina meant this song as a message of hope for everyone who has lost someone recently (as far too many have during the pandemic). I recommend watching some covers to better appreciate Angelina's range of vocal abilities. She has nearly 200 videos on RU-vid now, so it's likely she's covered some of your favorite songs and/or artists. For my part, I find her Adele covers to be better than Adele's originals. I would also argue that she's one of the best jazz vocalists alive today of any age, and not just "for a 15-year-old" (or whatever age she may be in the video you're watching at the time, which could be as young as 6). If you like the ethereal nature of Norway, you can't do better than to listen to Angelina's own beautiful composition, Oslo. The nearest Angelina gets to classical style is Song For A, which was written for her by Russian composer Nico Cortosio with words by Robert Burns. It is truly ethereal. While I'm here, I must also recommend her rooftop performance of Cole Porter's Every Time We Say Goodbye as age 10. I'd love for you to do an analysis of what she does there that makes it sound so simple and yet so rich and beautiful.

Besides this song originally written by her to honor her Japanese grandfather, Angelina has also honored him by singing in Japanese when she performed in that country. When she was three years old, she told her mom that she wanted to sing for Simon Crowel. She stated on the U.S. show called The View that she first began singing jazz at 1-1/2. I don't believe enough credit for Angelina's fast acceleration into jazz singing was given to her maternal grandmother who was also a child prodigy and undoubtedly realized that some special babies could absorb lyrics and music, as well as singing aloud at an age when most experts would not think was possible.

Angelina's Iranian grandmother, Mery Zamani, was herself a child prodigy (hence the guidance) and is probably the most influential artistic inspiration for Angelina. This song is about the death of her Swedish paternal grandfather. It was her first original after signing with Republic. I find it a testament to her inner compass and her faith in her audience to write a pop song about loss and death. Her heartbreaking version of Always on My Mind is also about him, as is her very interesting version of Happier. She lost her otehr grandfather recently too. For a live performance do either of her videos of Feeling Good. Very young she said she is never nervous when she is singing. You might want to go all the way back to when she won Norway's Got Talent with her astounding versions of Gloomy Sunday and Summertime at 7.

Hi, this song AJ wrote about her grandpa after he passed they were very close, it was also meant to all the family's that lost their loved ones due to the coranavirues she is very humble and sort of shy, she also wrote 7th Heaven last year ther's 3 differnte vidoes i like the one in the studio she is wearing a suit also she did a mini christmas show 2021 but you had to buy tickets to see it on line, she had 3 musical legends and the music director for repoblic records for 15 she looked classy i just adore her! Damn, you are good! This is the best 1st reaction to Angelina I've ever seen, and believe me, I've seen hundreds, so good for you. I just subscribed for more of your excellent analysis & can't wait for more. Many reactors seem to think ignorance is the way to go with reactions, but I prefer research & background info. You really need to listen to her "Live in studio" version of this song. You will soon discover that Angelina is best live & she's even better if you put a big audience in front of her. She not only has all the vocal skills perfected, but her emoting skills are off the charts. I've never felt a singers voice like Angelina's in my 7 decades of listening. But beyond her vocal & songwriting skills, she is the most amazing song arranger, as well. She has been arranging her cover songs to make them unique, since she was at least 8 yo. Sometimes she takes a classic, iconic song & totally transforms it into another song that is a masterpiece in itself. Her "covers" of songs like the Moma's & Papas, California Dreamin' or Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody or Michael Jackson's Billie Jean & many others, are different songs. That's a rare talent!

there are 3 different video versions of this song and you picked this one. look at the other one that is listed as Million Miles ( live in studio ) its in black and white and its just her singing with a microphone and a piano and cello. i think you will like it much better...

I have just supscribe after having seen this reaction of my favorite singer/songwriter . I am one of her many followers/angels. The same feelings i have for a " born " opera/crossover singer from Holland Amira willighagen who i 2 years older than angelina but the same way a sweet soul. She learned herself to sing after U tube where she found opera beatifull and she won Hollnd got talent as 9 y o singing O mira bambino/ ave maria e.t.c. Today she lives in southafrica. This is in Oslo Norway, where she’s at right now it’s a beautiful place. Remember Wife Lee there a couple years back to hear a concert that she did from the military men USA to Oslo.
