I finally got to making a vid about the best friends characters in Yugioh. It is not a ranking vid, but I definitely let you know who is my fav among all the best friends in yugioh.

As much as it pains me to say, I must give the best friend title to Kusanagi than Soulburner. Kusanagi started the whole thing from scratch with Playmaker. They have a deep bond because their lives were ruined tremendously by the Lost Incident. They discovered the cyberse deck together and fought side by side against the world. We can see their deep bond when they duel each other, where both of them know how the other thinks and they both don't want to hurt each other, but Kusanagi is forced to to save his brother. When Kusanagi loses, Playmaker has a mental breakdown and collapses, something that didn't happen when Takeru became data. Overall, their best bros, who both like hotdogs.

I like that unlike many people, you give Sho and Tetsuo some respect and I agree that Yusei doesn't have that *one* best friend. However I do disagree with your takes for Sevens and Go Rush. While yes, Gakuto and Romin are close friends of Yuga, it's only Luke who is acknowledged as Yuga's best friend. He's also the prime example of being the rival AND bestie in a ygo show - meanwhile I can't say the same for Zwijo. So far, only Yuhi is acknowledged as Yudias' best friend. Yuamu isn't (again, similar to Gakuto and Romin, she might be close to Yudias but not a best friend) and Zwijo might be someone he has deep respect for and is friends with... but *best* friend? Nah, that title goes to Yuhi until Go Rush says otherwise.

Joey was our underdog Syrus was Jaden’s bro Bronk while don’t hold him in high regard, I respect he did save Yuma and stood up for what was right against the Barians Gong probably is somebody you can rely on for moral support and maybe even more Kusanagi literally had a game plan for what to do As for the ones who you talked about on there is no answer; yeah I get it I can’t really argue here. I only put characters in the best friend category because I needed to make it easy for me.

Sometimes I like to imagine the filler arcs didn't happen so that I can remember Joey's last duel in the anime being against Marik 😂

I think that Zwijo and Yuhi are both rhe best friends, but for different reasons. Yuhi is more like a bro you feel comfortable with. Someone you can tell your problems to and they will listen and make you figure things out. Zwijo is more of a brother-in-arms. When Yudias is down, Zwijo knows why and to console him, he debates him so that his true emotions will come out and the two fight it out to solve their difference on the matter. But I must say that Zwijo seems to be the closer pick to the best friend position since he knows Yudias inside and out, always looks out for him, but follows his own path forward. (They're also the same species so that helps) Yuhi is supposedly the best friend according to the 2 of them, but he doesn't seem to know Yudias that much. The 2 like to duel each other, but don't get what the other one is thinking.

You are the only person in the world that consider's tetsuo as yuma's best friend. Because for me, he always laugh at yuma when he fails, he was jealous when he beat shark and he wanted to duel him for the heart of Rio, a gril who didn't know that he existed.

Personally I don't think Yudias himself sees Zwijo as his best friend because he idolizes him too much, he doesn't view himself as good enough to be his friend when compared to Yuuhi who he can see on that level, Zwijo is the idol out of reach that he struggles to reach throughout season 1 As for favorite, by your list I'd say Jack, by general consensus category Joey

I disagree with the thought that Yuudias's relation with Yuhi and Yuamu are equal, throughout season 1Yuhi has always seemed to be closer to Yuudias, he spent more time with him in general and he also insisted on staying in the alien residencial area to rescue Yuudias. And in season 2 when Yuudias meets Yuhi for the first time he introduces himself as his "Yuhi Ohdo's best and closest friend" and next time they meet Yuhi also calls him his best friend. I do also think Zwijo is very close to Yuudias but I wouldn't really call him his best friend

I would say that Zwijo is Yudias's Comrade in Arms: someone you respect and admire (just as you aspire to be) Meanwhile, Yuhi and, recently, Epoch could be considered Yudias's closest Earth friends. In this case, Yuhi being Yudias's colleague and best mate: there have been many cases of this in GO RUSH The same for SEVENS, although Romin and Gakuto contributed something to Yuga, Luke would be Yuga's best friend since he was always there to help or understand Yuga, even Luke considers Yuga to be his first and best friend.

I’m torn. I kinda see the argument on both Yuhi & Zwijo’s side, but what we can all agree on is Yuamu is absolutely not in the conversation, since she’s the most wasted disappointing character by a long shot. She’s a great cheerleader tho.

@@terranorth I mean, from the first Episode, it's known that the only reason Yuamu wanted Yudias at UTS is to gain notoriety for the company: not friendship, just more work staff. Even Yuamu was the one who encouraged Yuhi to Duel with Yudias at the beginning: thus forming the friendship between Yuhi-Yudias that grew stronger throughout the series. And saying that she is a cheerleader is somewhat exaggerated since she has contributed a lot to GO RUSH, even in the plot (more than Manabu and Yudias, I would say). However, Yuamu is not the one who received the most character development of the trio: that was Yuhi, who also overshadows Yudias. Ironically, at the end of Season 2, it is made clear that Yuhi is not yet ready for the position of president of UTS and that Yuamu was the one who put things in order at the company.

@@brunosanto3488 that’s all Yuamu is tho, the president of UTS who never actually has any plot or character relevant duels. Her one exception was the end of season 2, but now she’s gone missing and is likely the lapdog of the new villain or brainwashed. I hope to be proven wrong, but we’re 100+ episodes in and she got exactly 2 good moments in the show.

@terranorth I absolutely disagree with that take on Yuamu. I never understand hate towards her considering she is competent as both a character and duelist. Having a decent record, a cool deck, is reliable as a person who is constantly shown to see the bigger picture and attempts on all occasions to help her brother and Yudias and the current arc is literally about her so people can't say she has no plot related aspects either. Some can say what was her plot relevant win and to be honest most characters don't have one. Yuhi's only plot relevant win was honestly due to Zwijo and Phaser so it always feels weird when people hate on her and don't see what she brings to the table as if she is cheerleading in the back instead of being an active participant in the series.

For me its a toss up between Joey and Gongenzaka. Gongenzaka I feel like is severely overlooked. Kusanagi is great too and also overlooked.

Im rewatching every Yu-Gi-Oh show right now (hopeing Go Rush gets a dub by the time im done) and I just finished GX and agree Syrus is a great character
