Regarding the last scholars explanation, well it is forbidden to celebrate anything annually except for 2 eids. A new house ceremony or graduation, or any form of happiness expressed in celebration is acceptable. But it shouldn't be done yearly like we do in birthday celebration and it also has origin from pagans.

@layman- You can't dismiss EVERYTHING a person says just because they happen to be wrong about a few, what have people said about Dr Yasir Qadhi in this video. Also nobody ever said birthdays are a part of islam, when a muslim celebrates his/her birthday they don't expect a reward from Allah or anything like that. The pagans had their own demonic rituals, I don't see people nowadays doing that when celebrating birthdays.
@layman-
@layman- 10 месяцев назад
@@SoliderBoi_ actually we say not to listen to him at all .. as layman can't differentiate between right or wrong... secondly it doesn't have to be demonic ritual or stuffs, blowing candle and cake itself is a ritual itself..and majority of scholars say it's prohibited to celebrate birthday
@SoliderBoi_
@SoliderBoi_ 10 месяцев назад
@layman- thats the whole point laymen can't differentiate between right and wrong that's why they ask the scholars or else what's the point of listening to ANY scholar for the matter? You seem to be indicating that we should disregard what he's saying for no reason. Blowing candles and cutting cake is not a ritual its a celebration and not all birthdays have cakes and candles so even if you were right about it being a ritual it doesn't explain how birthdays as a whole are haram. And if you sing happy birthday to someone, it's still okay. Singing isn't haram in itself, the instruments are, so you can sing without any music, as long as all the lyrics are not haram (swearing, sexual words etc). But I think buying something really unnecessarily expensive like expensive watches and expensive phones is haram because you're wasting far too much money. I think making a wish while blowing the candles is haram and you should make wishes (duas in this case) instead. And cake cutting is in no way at all haram. Zakir Naik and all those who call a birthday celebration 'Haram' should have their heads examined. Firstly, Both of the Eids and Friday are celebrations of the Religion as in whole, while a birthday of an individual is a personal celebration wherein well wishes from his well wishers and families are blessed and bestowed upon him. They are two very different type of celebrations and a birthday celebration can also be looked upon as a celebration of the day when Allah gifted this individual a life. Secondly, Islam is a free flowing religion, free flowing of thoughts and ideas, free flowing of exchange of blessings, free flowing of compassion, free flowing of goodness, free flowing of happiness and it should be kept that way and not get constricted which these dumb minded preachers intend on doing. All I have to say is Celebrate every breath you take and offer your deepest gratitude to Allah for it. Islam does not constrict goodness and happiness. Celebrate your Birthdays and always dedicate a moment on your birthday to express your gratitude to Allah for gifting you this life this day. Amen.

Eid can be celebrated but making wishes on birthdays are deprived from Pagan traditions. As the prophet (SAW) said, " Whoever imitates a people is one of them". I agree with you, Islam is a free flowing religion allowing for happiness, however, remember that EVERY religion has restrictions. Allah has allowed you to be free, to be this and that, but does that mean you go against his rules?? The Quran?? No. Read the Quran, read the hadith. Allah knows best. Follow his words. Once again I agree!! Wish for deepest gratitude to Allah and Inshallah we will all find happiness. But It's best to do it the way Allah has said so.

@@tozak196 no one is imitating the Eid Celebrations. I understand our Prophet's perspective that nothing can be celebrated as Eid as the Kings would be inclined to. I'm no king, so it is not for me, as long as I'm celebrating my birthday as a personal celebration and thank Allah on that day for giving me life and blessing me of being born in Islam, so why does it become Haram? No human can determine what is Haram except Allah and the word of Allah is Quran, so if it is not in the Quran then it is not Haram.

@@Uno.Numero I wasn't talking about Eid imitations but of birthdays. You celebrating your birthday to give thanks to Allah is good! Generally, that would be on candles and throwing party etc. Those act are deprived from traditions where we Muslims are not associated with. Only Allah and the Quran knows what is haram or not, that is a strong point I agree on, absolutely!! But this is where interpretation comes. It has nothing to do with our religion but it has something to do with the pagans religion as they used to celebrate birthday as an act of worship

There is another reason why birthdays are Haraam. chocolate cakes were not eaten during the time of our prophet. All cool cakes are new inventions. They are Bidah and that's why haraam. Because Bidah is haraam.
