Thank you for creating this YT channel, Alexandra. I haven't seen your channel in a while, probably because I haven't had an outbreak in a while---since 2018 or 2017. Ever since I heard you say you take a daily maintenance dose of L-Lysine. That was a game-changer for me. I started doing that, too. And I basically never get outbreaks anymore. If I do, it's because I indulged in too much arginine-rich foods, such as chocolate, nuts, etc. Before I just watched my diet to control my Lysine-Arginine ratio. And I would start dosing with lysine at the first tingle or sign of an outbreak; but sometimes that would be too little-too late to prevent an outbreak. Of course, living with oral herpes, we have to watch out for this amino acid imbalance. When we consume more arginine than lysine, we become susceptible to an outbreak. I had heard about Robin Williams having oral herpes. (R.I.P. Robin Williams.) After I found out such celebrities have it, too, I didn't feel so bad about having it myself. I've been prone to outbreaks since my preteen years. One interesting thing I noticed about Robin Williams was that he would tend to wear a beard occasionally, even before beards were trending like they are now---popularized by rock bands like My Morning Jacket, Band of Horses, et al. I figured that was his way of concealing outbreaks. I started doing that, too---no shaving until outbreak is gone. Another interesting public figure with oral herpes is sports commentator Max Kellerman. In the past, I wouldn't even want to go to work, if I had an outbreak, because I felt so ashamed; and some people can be so cruel. And to see Max Kellerman on TV with a very visible outbreak was empowering. I've also noticed Kellerman seems to grow out a beard at the first signs of an outbreak. But the fact that he often has visible outbreaks tells me he hasn't seen your channel! If he did, we would probably see less images of him with outbreaks in public. Who knows? I'm just glad I found this channel. And I'm glad I haven't had an outbreak in years. I stay away from arginine-rich foods to keep my lysine higher than my arginine levels. I try to drink 1 to 1.5 gallons of water per day to stay alkaline and for (natural) bodybuilding purposes. By the way, I've been married for 14 years. And my wife doesn't have it, nor does my son or stepdaughter. I'm proud to say I've been responsible in being careful whenever I may be contagious. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Cheers.

I just started talking Lysine today cause of you and been trying to stay relaxed just like you said I recently found out last week even tho my test said negative I was positive for HSV2 even now admitting you brought me some confidence despite the last time I had sex was a year ago I just started having out breaks a few like august. Alexandra, you are an amazing inspiration and help so many people. While I understand you were trying to be helpful with this video, I found it sad and unfortunate. You're right, celebrities are normal people, just like us. And as such, I believe they have a right to privacy and it's not your story to share with others. In some cases, you were not even sure they had herpes or what kind, yet did not hesitate to mention their names. While it's unclear that any source of this information can even be trusted, I doubt anyone here would appreciate someone else disclosing their HSV status.

I got it when I was 15 in high school and some girl embarrassed me in class yelling I have herpes. I don’t know how I got it because I was not sexually active at that time. Fast forward to 2020 I found out my mom often gets cold sores so I’m guessing I got it genetically. Just really sad 😢 idk how I’m going to bring it up with guys in the future when I’m ready to start dating. Their is stigma that you are this promiscuous person if you have herpes but it’s not true. You know how contagious it is when babies can even get it.

I had hsv1 like in 2019 from passing a joint, the next day I had a small blister on my lip, and few weeks after that I had a even smaller one barely visible and then 5 years later that was the only 2 outbreaks I had, it hasn't reappeared, so I don't understand much about it, show I even mention it in a relationship?

Well 70-80% of the human population has the virus so at least 70-80% of celebrities has it. You also have to consider the fact that celebrities often have more partners than regular people so it's probably like 90%. Yes the 70-80% is actually a fact that you can look up. Almost everyone has the virus but only a certain percentage of the population gets outbreaks. It's almost impossible to avoid it and most people get it from activities like sharing drinks.
