LOVED the pool fun at Maya Chan, it made me laugh out loud! I would love to go there with my hubby sometime. He's a redhead & all the shade looks right up his alley.
Thanks for all the information, I always love your Vlogs but I’m going to make a note about Maya Chan Resort, and be sure to go if one of my next cruises find me in costa Maya!
Thank you so much for your video! I’m going to Maya Chan at the end of this month and while I am excited, I’m traveling solo so I was a little nervous about how you get to the Maya Chan guide and what the transportation situation was like, but you put me totally at ease! I can’t wait to enjoy everything at Maya Chan, especially the bonus cats and dogs, I LOVE that! 😊
Maya Chan is somewhere we’d love to visit for sure!! It’s not available for the Vlogger’s extravaganza unfortunately…so we’ll have wait! How nice of the ice cream server to call everyone by name!!🥰
We booked Chacchoben when we were in Costa Maya last and it took us down to the town so you could explore and have lunch. They stopped at a few roadside vendors so people could grab fresh pineapple with chilli powder (YUM!!).
Thank you so much for letting us know the casino is non smoking. I love going to the casino but usually my eyes are stinging from the smoke after an hour or so. I've been looking for a non smoking casino so Celebrity might be my next cruise.
I hate that you all had to deal with the seaweed but it is awesome of the vendor to let you know what was going on. The “not Dad” joke was good Jay! Edited to add that the pool dancing was EVERYTHING!!
We did beach in Costa Maya but water was beautiful! Just little bar/restaurant with drinks and food included. Nothing fancy, but watched fisherman cleaning his catch!
You guys are so cute!! Love the way you guys look at each other. Such a beautiful thing to see. We were going to book Mia Chan a few years back but a hurricane changed our plans. One day we will be there.
Love love love Maya Chan! So much so we booked them again in February for my birthday cruise on Ruby Princess! :) I can taste the tacos and pina coladas already!
Hubby and I went to Maya Chan last October per your recommendation and we can vouch that they are excellent!!! Funny thing was, when we arrived they gave us the run down about the smell/cloudy water, showed us video and pics, etc. We are pretty easy going and said we were happy to go, and shortly after a couple of women came up and were given the same run down. They wrinkled their noses at the host as decided to cancel. On the drive there, we actually saw those same 2 women wandering around the local town looking confused and lost (btw, I would not recommend walking around the town on your own, it looked a little sketchy). Was the beach a little smelly? Yes. Was the water cloudy? Yes. But! The host family was absolutely delightful and we had an amazing time. The breeze is so strong that, to be honest, it takes the smell away and you occasionally just get a fishy whiff here and there. Drinks are NOT watered down (hubs can attest to that!), food was delish, and the cabana was so relaxing. I also did the massage and omg, hearing the waves while getting a massage is an experience you must do at least once. So glad you guys went back, we plan to visit them again and support their business. Btw, they let us use the pool since the water was cloudy so we didn't miss out on some swim action! We still joke about the couple that missed out - don't let the cloudy water and smell keep you away from this gem!!!
Thanks for the Maya Chan Vlog... I was waiting for this one. We were there in December 21 on your recommendation and like you are bonkers about the place. Absolutely love it. And you are so right they are so transparent and honorable. Simply magnificent hosts. We hope we can get back there some time in the future and try all those new drinks!!!!. We were in the pool too all by ourselves, simply amazing... Oh and the food OMG..... so good so fresh.... the happiest of days.
I love Maya Chan! I don't remember the pool. The fact that I dropped my wallet there and they somehow got it back to the ship before it left has made me a guest for life whenever we are in Costa Maya.
The wife and i went to Costa Maya last year in October during our honeymoon cruise. We didn't do an excursion. Nothing caught our attention. So we just shopped and hung out at the bar with the pool ...or was it the pool with the bar.....meh....we had a blast either way....lol. Margaritas were amazing.
I wished all casino's on cruise ships were no smoking. We don't spend a lot of time there but it's nice when there's no smoking. It seems all you have to do is walk through one that is smoking and your clothes smell and I always have to change. Thanks for all your content. BTW....I loved the pool segment. It made me laugh.
Wasn’t a huge fan of Costa Maya, didn’t get the true feeling of being in Mexico it felt very touristy. Love this vlog series I hope you guys get to Le petit chef on board !
Maya Chan is terrific, almost as good as Nachi in Cozumel. Both our go toos....love your cap Dee!~ But the water quality the day you went...unacceptable. But made lemonade in the pool
@ParoDeeJay - would this be one of the group options on the Vloggers cruise next January? We booked the Paradise Beach on Feb. 3rd. on this group cruise. Thanks for sharing and that looks like a very quaint and quiet beach area. Thanks for sharing :)
When one starts waving it activates my wave button and sit here watch and waving as if I was there. Trains particularly gets lots of waving but no mooning which is frequently done in Southern CA.
Low lighting, especially LED-based lighting it seems, interferes with the frame rate of the camera. It flickers at just the wrong rate, I suppose. Sort of like when you try to record a television screen. I’ve just learned to live with it, ha ha!!
Yes, the water tends to be rather brown in that zone. We’ve been three times now, and they do have frequent seaweed and clarity issues, but the food, drinks, service level, and overall vibe keep us coming back!! :P
Going to Costa Maya next March! First time! That excursion was perfect, Can I trouble you and ask how much this excursion cost? Love your vlogs, watch everyday!
@@conniea3949 The seaweed season in that area is May-October for the most part. It’s also just natural from the seaweed, it’s not chemicals or anything gross.
The seaweed is called Sargassum and stinks. They have been trying to clean it up all along the Mexican Caribbean coast from Cancun all the way down to Costa Maya.
Jay and dee..hi. i am soo wanting to plan a cruise for my husband and I. But we are wet in our ways on what we like to eat. We are a traditional mexican family and do not really venture outnof our mexican cuisine except for some steaks, bbq and sometimes tepanaki. With that said..can you lead us to a cruiseline that can maybe fit out food needs?
