We've done a balcony and inside cabin trip and we prefer the inside cabin. We like to eat at the specialty restaurants, so the money we save from a balcony view goes towards our dining.

Thanks. I first cruised before drinks packages were a thing, and I did like to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by... These days I tend to find myself drawn towards the public areas where there's some life and a bar close by... So part-funding the drinks by taking an inside cabin feels like a decent trade off, particularly in a cabin like this one which was actually quite spacious...

You spend less time in your room and therefore I prefer to spend the $ on dinner, drinks… etc

Hi, thanks for the video! I am about to sail on the Silhouette in an inside cabin, on the 9th floor as well. I am thinking about ordering bright "day-light" night lights from Amazon, do you think it's necessary? I honestly prefer sleeping in the dark or just leaving the bathroom door slightly ajar with the light on. I am traveling with a young male relative so I would definitely want the beds separated. There doesn't seem to be ample space to do that. I love to cruise a lot! In order to do that, I room share when traveling with others and opt for an inside or oceanview cabin.

I know Emma Cruises loves the night light thing... I travel quite a lot and have developed the abililty to sleep for 7-8 hours whenever I get into a bed... So I can abbreviate that with an alarm if there's something to get up for but don't really feel the need to enhance that waking up experience with light... It is actually quite nice to be able to black out the room... And the beds will not be far apart - indeed they never are far apart on a ship, even in larger balcony cabins. They need to fit into an alcove and if they are separated, they'll only be 2 bedside tables apart. But sharing with someone does make cruising more accessible as you are sharing the costs... Thanks for the comment!

Wow, that cabin was really bright, although I imagine you hit all the light switches in order to film. Lacking a few subtle tones or contrast in that decor It looks spacious and comfortable though, as we weigh up options for a cruise with Celebrity this year. As usual sir, you have delivered wit and wisdom that is both entertaining and informative as ever.

Thanks so much! There may have been a modicum of "lightening" through the editing suite too!!! It really was ok... Celebrity seems to have managed to get their pricing up too so an inside might be the only option going forward!

I’ve never sailed in an inside cabin but I booked one for a four night sailing on the Silhouette. Same location, one deck below. I think I’ll survive. 😂

It was the best inside cabin I've had...

The benefits are not just cost, the darkness is great for sleep but for people like me who get sea sick if I am rolling around in bed being inside on a low floor avoids that and is the key reason we choose those rooms. I was talked into my first cruise a few years ago and chose an inside low floor I loved it, a few cruises later I was talked into a balcony and hated the movement at night.

Thanks Peter - that's a really interesting insight.... I don't really suffer from motion sickness, but I always assumed access to the horizon would be a help... I can see how being low down would be a benefit though... Thanks for the comment!

We are actually signed up for this exact same room Mid May on a Scandanavia cruise. We are considering an upgrade.

Ha ha!! What are the odds?? As inside cabins go, its not terrible but I hope the video helps you decide whether to stick with it

Must have missed it. What was the plug adapter you were using?
@MattsOceans
@MattsOceans Год назад
Hi Steve - the specific adaptor that I referred to in this video got delisted by Amazon - always annoying when that happens to something you refer to in your video... This is what I'd recommend now: amzn.to/3gSTUTL
