The Lagavulin distillers edition is 43% ABV, while the Nick Offerman versions are 46% ABV, so besides adding his face he added some punch to his bottles! No WONDER they are so GOOD!

I used to live a block from Law's. If you buy from the distillery they'll give you a sample of the hops in a little baggy of their grain. Very nice people, very nerdy indeed

I tried the Proper 12 Apple (I guess with added apple flavor) and it was honestly undrinkable. It was so sugary sweet I might as well have been drinking an apple slurpee. I was glad I'd only bought a nip (airplane bottle) and not a whole bottle.

The Tiger Thiccc seems an odd blend, because I always thought that Japanese whisky was more in line with Scotch than it was like Bourbon. I have been warned not to mix the two in an infinity bottle. I didn't listen, but I was warned. It didn't work out so great.

From a historical/hereditary perspective, Japanese whisky is descended from Scotch. If I'm remembering correctly, they went over and learned how the Scots were doing it about a century ago. I think they also imported some of their first equipment from there too? But that was a century ago, and they have certainly developed their own character by this point.

The Offerman edition is the only celebrity whiskey I will buy on sight with no hesitation. Other than that the only celebrity whiskey I can think of that I like is heaven's door and that is only the cask strength single barrels.

Buckets with some cement in the bottom, before it dries stick a piece of pvc pip that is big enough to fit the legs of the canopy in. Let the cement harden with that pvc pie stick straight up. Then when you have strong winds, you put the leg of the canopy in the bucket, down that pvc pipe . And use the handle of the bucket to help tie down the canopy. If you make two buckets like this and put them both on the wind side, it should help counter act all but the strongest of winds. Like the ones generated by rare great mooches breaking wind.

They should have used the Guinness cask offerman instead of the charred cask if they had a bottle. The charred oak is bland compared to the Guinness cask

I'm sure it's the availability. I see the Offerman charred oak cask everywhere but I haven't seen the Guiness cask in a store in years. And I've never seen his Carribean Rum Cask edition ever. I'd love to get my hands on that one!

I have no idea who Brendan Schaub is but I have had an Irish whiskey that was finished in Mizunara barrels and HOLY DAMN was it good. Some of the best whiskey I think I've had outside of my favorite Islay scotch picks. I really want to try that one now.

I'm a Coloradan, so Laws is local. Personally, I HATE everything they make. Their whiskey is harsh & just very unpleasant. I had a former roommate try to get me into Laws, & I just couldn't. Ugh...., terrible. Absolutely terrible whiskey!

I think his signature is on the label but that's it. That's common with celebrity spirits, you'll see the same thing on like Teremana tequila (Dwayne Johnson) or Los Hombres mezcal (Aaron Paul & Bryan Cranston). It just shows their signatures somewhere on the front or back label.

They should've done a brain scan of how disappointed I was in Slipknot's whiskey as someone that's a life long hardcore Slipknot fan. The reserve was pretty good but the standard release was dog shit.

One thing I've noticed in my experience with celebrity spirits is, the less quality the spirit, the more absurdly overpriced it is. KISS makes a rum that basically tastes like Captain Morgan, but because it's got that name recognition it costs twice as much as a good but modestly-priced rum like Plantation or Appleton Estate. The Offerman Lagavulin is expensive, but it's reasonably priced for a Lagavulin! It costs a little more than the 8, but not as much as the 16 or the Distillers Edition. And it's delicious!
