It is still very interesting that ABC fired Roseanne Barr so quickly when the management at ABC kept Whoopi Goldberg for what she said. It seems like no matter what is said in Hollywood, some people get punished and some do not. I truly believe that Roseanne Barr was sorry for what she said on Twitter and that she got dismissed too quickly from ABC because there were people at the network who were just itching to get rid of Roseanne cause they did not like her at all. But, they kept Whoopi Goldberg and that was wrong.

When I meet a person, the colour of their skin doesn't even cross my mind. I suppose its because I have a white mom and a black dad, it was never really an issue growing up and racism was not something I experienced until I left the security of my family unit. Character is by far the most important trait in a person.

I am curious as to why someone saying that she wanted to "shit in her wig" is automatically taken as racist simply because the people involved are of a different color??? This is just an observation and I do not know that back story, but it occurs to me that you can not like someone and it really doesn't have to have ANYTHING to do with race. It bothers me that we try to find racism in EVERYTHING, because then anyone can be accused of being racist even if they are not... which can have career ending effects. I work in a very diverse environment, and a persons skin color is inconsequential, it isn't even something that I notice or think about until someone makes it an issue. People are people. If I like or dislike someone, it is based on nothing other than my personal interactions with that person, chemistry or whatever... So, if someone is rude to me, or doesn't treat me with the same dignity that I do them, I am probably not going to like that person. So if I say I do not like that person, if that person happens to be a different skin tone than my own, now I can be labeled a racist. That is sheer lunacy! The pigmentation of ones skin is of no consequence, again, not something that I would even think about... but now I am a racist because I didn't like someone? I didn't like them because they are an asshole- had nothing to do with anything else, but yet people make assumptions based on their own race ideations, and now I am the racist? You cannot automatically know what is in someones heart. You cannot inject things that are not there. Assuming that I am disliking someone because of the shade of their skin, is in itself profiling- you assume that because I am one color that I automatically have a tendency to be racist toward someone of another color- which is not true, never has been true, never will be true- but you will condemn me the same.

Education, money, and power may get you some recognition and some success but common respect and courtesy is a quality that not only wins friends and makes a person influencial but it can also make a person popular and well-liked, nonetheless, it is a quality that a person only learns and develops from proper raising at home; however, it is sad and unfortunate for those who didn't get that chance.
