In this video we look at the Celestion Alnico Blue and how it sounds both mixed with and in a direct shootout against 21 other speakers. The speakers in this shootout video are listed below.
As always please let us know your experience with any of these speakers, combinations or amps you've used them with.

To me, this shows how good and versatile the CreamBack G12M65 is. By far my favorite speaker of them all. Honorable mention to WGS Invader.

wow, that Celestion Blue is absolutely the best! I have an Alnico Gold, and side by side there in part2, that Blue clearly wins out for me!

I'm glad you found it useful. The Gold is still a really cool speaker but the blue does tend to be that bit warmer sounding and often a little easier on the ears.

I have a gold speaker and it sizzles in the top end something lovely. The blue though sizzles in every frequency and I love it!

Every speaker has a own "resonance" in respect to musical style and guitarist's ears. I don't prefer those speakers that get "glassy" about hi-mids or with a spike to the mids and your awesome samples helped me A LOT to understand it and making my choices (G12-65 Heritage). Thanks Zilla Cabs. You're GREAT ! Respect.

I have a 15" Frazier speaker that came out of one of there cabinets idk which one but the driver looks exactly like this alnico blue back that everyone seems to love

definitely the definitive Rock'n'roll speaker. Was lucky enough to grab brainworx Rockergain amp sim suite that have IRs of the speaker that is loaded into the Orange PPC412 cab.

I've got an alnico Blue and Gold in my AC30 but after listening to this, I'm tempted to take out the Gold and try a Heritage 75 Greenback in beside it. I liked that pairing in this video.

Im surprised how alike the Warehouse Invader sounds to the Alnico Blue, considering 15W vs 50W.

Hello Zilla Cabs mates: Would it be possible to compare the 60s Vox Celestion Silver Bell/Alnico Silver vs. the current Celestion Alnico Blue vs. vintage or current Celestion G12H-30? I find these 3 sounds SO similar. I have myself a 4x12 with vintage G12H-30 with Pulsonic Cone that, in recordings, sounds like the 60s Beatles Vox sounds - in a JCM 800 or in a Orange Dual Terror, at least. Tried mixing 2 completely different in a 2 x12, cream and powerbird... don't work need to mix with with something like a v-30, worked that way, thank you for pointing that out. They barely make any sound

I'm very surprised I like the ring/chime in the Creamback so much. Having listened a couple times my 2 cents is the Blue (of which I own 4) high frequency ring sounds rebellious, unstable (in a good way) but the creamback rings/chimes in a consistent and predictable way - which is really nice thing. What are your thoughts?

Hi man thanks for the vídeo, have a question.. What is the most easy on the ears? ...I have a blues junior 4, it comes with Celestion A type, i like the sound but it's a little too boxy and has a top end that sometimes hurts ☹️... what would be the the best replacement,for You?..I use it for Home and estudio. Thanks

This is weird actually. In this video, the alnico cream seems to sound brighter than the Gold but in another demo I watched, the Gold is pretty significantly brighter than the cream. Could they have been mixed up here?

I have a Cream, and it usually seems like a dark speaker. But sometimes it’s not. go figure…

alnico with alnico was always the best sound, its as if they cancelled each other's muffled sounding frequencies then a very clear mid punch and somewhat bright and very tight sound comes through. any other combination was kind of dark sounding.

I must admit, I'm not the biggest fan of celestion alnicos, despite being something of a 'vintage vox guy'. I can't quite pinpoint exactly what it is about them that doesn't do it for me, because they do sound great, but maybe it's the more laid back transient response which makes me not really 'feel' the note attack in the same way that I do with ceramics? I think, at least within the context of your comparison videos, that the G12M heritage is my favourite out of all of these speakers. regrettably not enough power handling for my needs, however. (and also no longer available, I think?)

That's always the way, the one you like best has stopped being made ;) The EVH is still being made and that is close to the M heritage.
