I think Celine is one of those rare artist that has "universal appeal". Blacks, Whites, Asians, Latins; EVERYONE appreciates Celine vocals. And plus she's Canadian….they get along with everybody.
Ohhh yesss!!! I'm agree with you!!! She Is a Completly Versatile Vocalist!!! She Is Everything and EveryOne!!!... The ONE & ONLY Celine Dion!!!... The Unique Queen of LasVegas.....🌹❤️💎👑
Nah that rasp was NOT intentional. Celine has the ability to turn on her rasp but in this case it was clearly vocal fatigue. Normally her rasp is clean with overtones. This was rough and uneven. Doesn't take away from her amazing performance but please don't conflate intentional rasp with fatigued vocals
She still sounds great because she takes care of her voice. She does breathing treatments before all of her shows with like a saline solution to keep her vocal chords healthy. She is such a pro.
Indeed. I think people don’t understand how hard it is to be in key and in melody and perfection with everything around it, all instruments. Perfection….. lost for words
@@RadMotoRiderPH I wouldn't consider Patti to be in Celine's generation. Im not even a die hard Celine Dion fan but I can tell excellence when I hear it and this was nothing but that.
F5/G#5 at the age of 51 and 3 full decades of signing with more than 2k performance in her career . She make her name as one of the greatest female artists /singer of all time ...CELINE DION
Yea it's impressive... If u really wanna hear a lady in her 50s blowing like no other check out Patti LaBelle videos from 1994-2004. Patti is pureeee power ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JfJahWmmMwk.html She was 50 here
There's just no one like her. No one with that grit, that consistency, those chops, that musicality - and it all feels so authentic and organic. Celine is just simply one of the best.
This performance is one of the highlights of the Aretha Franklin tribute and it's too great. Celine is the epitome of a legend that pays outstanding tribute to other legends. Hope she gets one back in the future because she truly deserves it.
@JustTheVoice... You are totally right. When Céline hit and sustained that low note I was like OMG... Couldn't even believe it. Going that down at her age and taking into account her career, it's not as easy as many people could think. The last high notes were Simply *AMAZING* tho the whole performance was literately sent from heaven. *MAGNIFICENT* 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Céline *TheQueen* Dion.
the most confident artist on stage that really knows what she is doing is Celine Dion, you can feel it and see it, she is not afraid of facing the crowd in the audience and she captures everybody´s attention when singing. You could see big black women from the church and even Aretha´s friends praising and enjoying this performance. Amazing
I have strong faith that CELINE will be singing to us with such virtuoso in the future. She will always be one of the GOATs. Get well soon ma reine bien-aimée.
So I'm like in a state of aweness,if that's a word!! Im 36 and can literally remember the first time I heard this woman sing! I have been a fan ever since! I love her presence and her spirit! Even tried to keep up with her personal life! I wanted to be her or Whitney growing up! There is noone like her! I feel music and I don't care what color you are! If you can sing, you can sing! She can SANG 😂!!!
This was nothing but masterful... just masterful and come on with the perfect pitch right off the bat. She took her time with this.....put soul in every lyric for Aretha.
Cried watching this!Celine both gave an amazing tribute to the Queen of Soul AND proved that she can still sing and is thee best vocalist of all time while remaining so humble!love u Celine❤️❤️
I just listened to Aretha's version and i'm glad that Celine kept the integrity of Aretha's version while injecting some of herself into the song as well! Aretha's had the rasp in it as well!. AMAZING!!!Just a class act!!! I just don't see how some people can say that this version has no soul! When people have a bias against someone there's no amount reasoning to make them see through it!
I compared the version of Celine and JHud. Woowww... So different. But I prefer this one. It's raw. She's not like she's singing... She SPEAKS ... Or preach ... To us. When someone's singing feels like a dialogue... that's when you know that it's soulful at its best.
Listening to all the genres Céline has sampled really makes anyone forget she is French. She's that good. Adam reacts to the video Céline can sing anything, I think that's what it's called. A few genres even shook him lol
I think it's amazing how respected and influential Aretha was and continues to be. And how willing other stars are to come out and demonstrate their appreciation of her. Long live the Queen! If not in body, then in spirit.
When a Unique Global Queen SING, WE are listen to LEARN!!!!!...... SHE IS VERY VOCAL RANGE!!! Celine' s Voice has a Greatest Resonance an Control!!!!.... Tecnic and Master or Piercing of Tone!!!! WONDERFUL WOMAN and OUSTANDING Moment when she SLAYED SLAYED SLAYED!!!!!!..... waoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!.......
Can’t listen to this song without crying. It was also one of Avicii ‘s favorite songs ever. It was even performed at his memorial in Stockholm last November, one of his personal friends performed it. 😪
Celine has been singing since 12 years old professionally y’all and to still in her 50s be killing the vocals is AMAZING!!! This is what genuinely loving what you do looks like!! Gone head Celine ❤️❤️👑
always has been a singer whose range is pitch perfect, i've never heard her voice have more passion and intensity than here, she owned that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only worry that i have is when Celine dies and people decide to have a concert to honor her..who on earth can they find to sing her songs!? There is not one person who (my opinion!) should be allowed to touch Celine's songs...
For a Celine tribute I would rather they get artists who truly admired her and were inspired in their career by her. I think that would be more touching and enjoyable to watch than getting just whichever artist has the biggest voice. Even if they couldn't match her vocal talent I think it would make Celine more proud.
Ariana Grande, bless her heart, will try her hardest. I think vocally, Beyonce or Kelly Rowland could do Love can Move Mountains. Kelly Clarkson and Adele love Celine and would do well with the Power of Love and Have You Ever Been In Love, and Leona Lewis would be perfect. Some French songs are essential, though I don't know who could possibly do them.
Y is it when they learn artistry that originated with us we make them honorary black but we spend a lifetime time being great and they constantly remind us that we aren’t white. Can we just say she’s good at interpreting a song and she’s one of the best vocalist alive. P.s. after studying and learning from us around her kitchen table we might be just another group of NIGGAS that welcomed her in ijs.
@Nin9 And Tina Turner is also one of her idols , she interpreted The Best in Paris few years back but still does River Deep Mountain High in all her shows.
Agreed. That's one of the reasons why I have been a fan of hers since 1990. She has a deep respect and admiration for black artists and people. Whenever she is singing randomly she sounds like a sista. A lot of singers she has worked with and had in her band or backup have been black. She is always welcome at my table.
Really good performance. Very very good. She's one of the few singers who can still sing the shit out of their vocal decades later with Patti, Olivia, Cher, Dolly etc, Staying the ish out them damn notes like she is playing wack a mole lmao
I like the way she sang the song. The cadence and phrasing sounds a lot like a conversation. A call and response where the gaps are actually our thoughts.
shes a master of mixing now - you can hear on some words how shes holding back. i think she was rasping on purpose to be honest. or at least welcoming it for the feeling of this song
@@eduardosela7559 mixed, she's mixing much more than she used to, she seems to do it now with really good technique, also think the rasp was intentional
Belting is just when you sustain a note to make it sound like you are "yelling" but with resonance and support. Mixing is when you blend your head voice and chest voice to hit higher notes. So yeah she was mixing and belting at the same time when she sang that song lol.
This was the first time I had a chance to see Celine sing this song. I am so happy that I got to watch it with you. Watching your excitement and joy was contagious. The fact that you know how hard it is to hit certain notes made my night. I was looking away from the phone with my eyes closed and when I opened them we were doing the same movements! Thank you. You are such a joyful man. I thank God for you! Love, Carly. I know a song is going up to God when my arm raises toward the heavens. I've always felt that I belong in a Baptist Church. Praise God!
To give a performance like this in her 50's is amazing! I'll admit that I haven't followed her career for a while now but something like this reminds us of why we were fans in the 90's and why she's still worth listening to today!
Wow! I am floored and in tears. I have been a fan of Celine since her first American musical debut. And have most of her albums and already knew that she would not fail any song she sings. She and Mariah are known as the best remake artist of all time always able to make a cover sound just as great as the original artist version. This is a truly amazing performance.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THIS REACTION! No matter what people think about Celine! After 30 sec of the video, you get yourself moving back and forward, its inevitable! Her ability of taking us through out a song is simply UNIQUE! You may like or not, but she is THE VOCALIST!! NOBODY does that!
It has always seemed to me Céline's voice has changed every decade, even before her internatonal english career really took off. She normally can just sound raspy on purpose but I think since René got really sick, raspiness kind of became a constant part of her voice. As an effect resulting from the pain of loosing her beloved one. I realised that especially as she sang in 2015 a tribute to the Paris victims at the American Music Award. Since then her voice generally sounds a little less cristal clear but somehow even more "mature" and bluesy. And as you said her transitions are now more sophisticated and extremely effortless; more than ever. After a long day, it's always a real pleasure to watch your Celine-reactions! Way to go
Age and losing Rene affected the quality of her belting with regards to texture but it's still relatively easy for her because of her placement...... her voice has matured even more now...its very Bluesy....I can see her going into the Bluegrass and Folk genres and doing well
I'm from Montréal and she did a quick interview and she said she 's in the mood to make people dancing. After Vegas she's suppose to have a new English album and an international tour. I don't know if she's scare to take a break but damn she never rest.
I waiting for you to react this. Celine Dion is one of the classy artist and always on top list of artist. She always look stunning and amazing. Love her from Thailand. Love your react too.
The most soul I have ever heard fromm a white woman. She is absolutely one of the most masterful singers I have ever heard, maybe even the best. By far, she is the most underrated member of vocal trinity. As a vocalist, she is flawless.
This harks me back to VH1 Divas Live 1999 when Celine and Aretha gave great vocal performances on Like a Natural Woman and here we are she’s paying tribute to a vocal legend! Mad props to her here!! RIP to the Queen of Soul!!
Oops I just commented on his Kelly Clarkson Aretha tribute wanting him to react to this and he already had lol . I think Celine and Yolanda Adams was the most incredible that night, two powerhouse legends . Glad you seen this !!!
I don't think it was intentional. She IS 51 years old and has performed and toured extensively for over 30 years, many people seem to forget that. However, the rasp and strain just kinda flow effortlessly in this specific song, it's like a touch of soul. She sings a lot of songs this same way.
Saruman The White True. I think she picked to do it in this high key to keep it as the original, and had the rasp for both reasons... it’s just how her mid chest voice is at that repeating range, and 2, it’s close to the original key. Her chest voice when she has that range of notes, often switching between mixed and chest voice, it just ends up raspy. But luckily it helps her with the emotion in the piece... it’s very soulful, and well done regardless.
Queen Of Vegas Exactly!! It’s like a bit of both. A) It’s her voice around that range, switching between chest and mixed voice over and over again, and B) It adds a bit of soul to it. She probably knew this, otherwise she probably would have lowered the key quite a bit to sing it with a smoother voice. Performance was incredible regardless!!
it's 100% laaaaaayvee periodt. and she's singing it to honour Queen Aretha Franklin in front of the black bigtime divas who is known for their powerful voices
She has always taken good care of her voice and body!! So she can still hit those note. She will not drink or eat anything that will effect her vocal cords! Doesn't smoke and gets plenty of rest. That's how you keep your voice!! Oh and humidity! Renee made sure she kept her instrument in tip top shape!! And folks that's how ya do it!! What a Voice!!! love her
I loved this Tribute from her more than the one she did for Whitney. She did this very Aretha style Either way CELINE MADE ME FEEL SOMETHING!! She really should had some soul songs to her catelog if she hasnt already, because i am here for it. and she clearly has to passion to do it. LOVE YOU CELINE
You are a wonderful guy always enjoy watching you, yes you are right Celine is one of the greatest singers ever on the planet. A wonderful tribute , Aretha would be touched !
man you said even the best singers??? is that serious??? Celine Dion is one of the best and I guess you are underestimate her once again. Nobody sings like Celine Dion and nobody will ever do, it is a true fact.
