The movie was actually pretty solid, I watched it for free while feeding my fireplace so I wasn’t locked in absolutely which maybe the reason why I didn’t find the hand held sequences too bad or any noticeable lag in the pacing. I’m just glad they didn’t end it with him taking out the head guy only to realize it was a hallucination just as it was when they took out his wife and it turn out to be his son. Seemed like that was the setup but I’m glad they didn’t go with it. The ending although a bit ambiguous, was perceived as honestly fresh with the idea of the host mind operating independent of the body and all it’s actions taking place in reality. That perhaps all these mindless circling beings are in their own version of a pleasant dream state
Exactly! I think that's the reason so many are trying to discourage others from watching it. I was shocked that they're so blatantly putting the truth in our faces!
Y'all are crazy or just sheep, following the herd.... I thought it was great! Engrossing, interesting plot twists, surprise ending, terrific actors... Yeah, it's a yes from me!
i was thinking about it after I made this video. i THINK its saying that the whole movie is a dream/hallucination and John Cusack's character was a zombie the whole time.
@@jacob_yancosky that would make sense because its as if it all revolves around John Cusack’s character like how is it that EVERYONE know the Red Hooded Man if the idea of him was in John’s mind first. It seems like this story could be perceived in multiple ways and theories. Like maybe John Cusack IS the Red Hooded man and he is somehow or its all a dream based off of his novel
Liked the movie, different take on zombies, but still confused with ending, he turns into a phoner, but dreams he's normal and going to Canada with his son, is that right????
I just watched it. It popped up on Tubi When I saw Samuel L Jackson I had to watch I liked it I gotta check the book out now O plus I’m a Stephen Kings fan
@@jacob_yancosky That's what I don't get though. When exactly was he infected, when was he turned, when exactly did the hallucinations take place? Do you have an idea?
The mental effects of 5G on the human brain. Alot of conspiracy theories have been circulating for decades about cellphones and cell towers giving people brain cancer and mind control. Thats the crux of this whole story. Stephen King is a Freemason high rank and he has esoteric knowledge. Their universal rule is to disclose what they plan to do before they do it. Fiction and cartoons seems to be their mode of choice. We are too dumb to figure it out. Lies in the news truth in movies. Hidden in plain sight. This is predictive programming.
I am curious to know what your take on the metaphor would be. I have been a fan of King since the 70's and have never found any of his works a metaphor for anything. Just sheer entertainment and fear driven adrenaline release. What would the metaphor for a cell tower giving off invisible mind destructing wavelengths be?
I liked the idea of the movie, but would've liked it more if there was an answer to why it all happened in the first place. But maybe that's the true horror of films like these that not knowing why things happen or if there's a way to survive something like this is scary.
If I recall, Cell was written by Stephen King. Anyone that has ever read his books knows that he is a master story teller but has difficulties with his endings. Most of his books go beyond some bizarre event that is never explained in the end. Needful Things, Carrie, Storm of the Century, Under the Dome, 'Salem's Lot, to name just a few. Check out his library if you have not already. You will sleep with the lights on but wake up wondering what started it all.
I agree I really enjoyed this movie for some reason even though I know it was pretty bad at some points, I think some of the problem too was general public is just too saturated with zombie-esque 28 days later movies from this time what a shame though that Eli Roth was not allowed to do whatever he wanted with this project
I really liked this movie ! The end haunts me , that's good ! If it stays with you it's good ! I know sometimes Steven gets board at the end of a book ( I'm sorry but I really could have done with something more than a giant spider in " It " but oh well im a 🕷 spider lover anyway) but the end of this movie was Awesome and creppy !
No thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed this movie I don't really find that much wrong with it it seems like a low budget with a couple of big actors in it but it has some good scenes in it it really does, The bar scene really creeped me out, also when they're dousing all the phoners in the field with gasoline and driving over the bodies it's definitely bizarre
I liked it too. I don’t think those reviewers even watched the movie. Their reviews weren’t factual, especially the one that said the screen was shaking the entire movie like it was filmed by a handheld camera. Just trying to get clicks.
I thought it was great until the ending. I remember bits and pieces of the ending in the book. But this just felt like “we don’t know how to end this movie so here’s something tacked on”. It felt a bit pretentious compared to the rest of the film, and was sort of confusing having three different ending scenes play out in rapid succession like that
No I dont think so. I think he was transformed by his son when his son opened his mouth. Look at the eye roll nuance of Cussak when it happened. Then the hallucination started. He never blew up the truck and started hallucinating walking with his son. I am aboit to read the book but I think the virus mutated at that point making the zombies non violent but hallucinating. Those cell towers back then are what people are complaining about those new 5G towers all over the place giving off electromagnetic pulses.
@@jacob_yancosky i didnt like Planet Terror 🤮 i also was kinda meh with Death Proof but I loved the car scenes...you know what? Do one of the first Robert Rodrigues films (El Mariachi is one of my favorite films).
