Cello and Piano - Past and Present by Peter John feat. Cicely Parnas, Cellist 

As someone used to listening to music by composers who lived 200 years ago, it' such a new and refreshing experience for me to enjoy music which is just as intellectually and emotionally engaging created by living people sharing some of their life and creative process on social media. And I even had the privilege to be among the first hundred hearing a new composition - feels like living in Vienna, Austria in the early eighteen hundreds. It's a new world, thank you for this!

As someone who picked up Thinspace I was wondering if you were still producing any tunage, and I stumbled across this, quite happily. Really loved the marriage of Cicely's very organic playing with the electronic textures on Thinspace, so I'm happy to see (and hear) you're still working with her. I'm also the 50th "thumbs up" on this vid, though I doubt I'm the last. Great piece. Cheers!

I've heard this over 30 times. I've shared elsewhere, on more than one occasion, how for some reason the short section beginning at 8:13 almost inevitably grabs my heart and squishes tears into my eyes. This evening I was listening in the kitchen while washing dishes (and consequently not listening very closely), and when that part came up I quite unexpectedly began bawling. Magic music, Peter and Cicely!! I recently have hypothesized that at least part of the magic is the way Cicely sets it up with the urgency and abandon of her cadenza, which then softly leads to. . .

So poignant!!! And the recording quality is stellar!!

So, I think I discovered your review of the PM40 on the website of a popular supplier of audio gear to the masses. I've been considering purchasing one. Our company does live audio for quite a number of jazz shows, and quite a few of the pianists want to shove the Baldwin piano the venue owns up on stage. I've miced it up with off the shelf LDCs, SDCs, and dynamics on stands but always felt like the sound was a compromise. Your recording is phenomenal. Have you used the PM40 on a live stage?
