Orite boys not a question here but just wanted to say a massive thanks to you lot for getting me through a very tough time In my life to the point where I didn’t think I’d still be here sending you this message. The podcasts are always something I look forward to every week and have always kept me laughing even at times when I didn’t think it was possible. Slaney is spot on about the pitches, the ‘If u go swimming u need to take ur own water’ fantastic say it how it is guys, but u’s do have a platform to push a change, great job guys

Exactly , these guys and I include them all use the platform they have better than most , with Andy still actively playing it’s even better that they do use the platform as when you think about the pundits on tv all the time , boyd, walker, Nicholas craigan etc they just don’t . I’m the interested of being fair it’s not to find the time to talk up youth and local issues for ppl like walker, boyd , Nicholas and co when they spend so much time kissing up to the English premiership or talking down everything and every one in the Scottish game.

I genuinely nearly died laughing when they were joking about GMS 🤣🤣🤣🤣 brilliant. I wouldn’t believe I would of said this a few years ago (cos of my own silly bias) but Andy Halliday is genuinely doing a lot to really credit our players and game, he’s very honest , talks openly about games he was in , there’s none of the bias and none of the treating the watchers as if they are stupid like boyd and walker

Played with Jamie Adams for few years at regional schools and knew then centre midfield he would make it as a pro but was unlucky with some bad injuries but still an amazing career. Big reason why the regional team got to the final against Aberdeen then he was selected for Scotland for the euros and played with Si. Manager / player still in our local South team

Question for all 4 of the lads. In the last couple of year we’ve seen the likes of Callum McGregor really mature and grow into the role of a captain for Celtic but also step up his game. Has there been a player that the lads have played with or came across that they’ve seen first hand that moment they’ve changed or adapted for the better?

@@rosswilson3374 they should 100% , unfortunately not all kids are into football and would use it as a place to drink/fight/party and they would be ruined in no time I live right next to Airdrie sports centre , look at everywhere else surrounding the pitches , bottles and spray painted stuff everywhere 👎🏻

@@glasgowrangers6915 I get what you are meaning the kids will still climb over 10/12 foot fences that's not safe. The council grass pitches are not looked after. Over grown or full of dog sh*t and holes. Plus where I'm from all the grass pitches have been changed to 3g/4g so their is only these pitches with fences for me to take the wean just for a dad son kick about. I get their is cost in upkeep and maintenance but their is also a saving in not mowing grass or painting lines. All I am saying is if a few wee lads want a kick about after school they shouldn't have to pay 50 quid an hour or climb huge fences or in my view worse get kicked off the pitch so the gate gets locked at 5,30

Best player to play at Ibrox was Robert Prosinečki for Red Star Belgrade in 1990 (£8 for a ticket i the west enclosure when the tie was done). Best team the Juventus team in 1995. A young Benzema was superb but he only scored 2 goals at Ibrox ;)

Question: Is the old firm being in the champions league actually good for Scottish football? Given there’s about 1/2 Scottish players in their starting XI after a few years of having decent numbers of Scottish players in both teams seems like we’re going backwards to 2000s where they just buy in players rather than bring through youth. From your own experience (Si coming through at Celtic where they can just buy players vs Andy at Livi who were probably more reliant on bringing through the youth) what’s your thoughts on buying in players to grow Scottish game vs putting the focus on bringing through homegrown players to build it from grassroots

QUESTION FOR NEXT WEEKS POSTCAST- in line with this weeks champions league draw were you feel the difference in class between Europe’s elite and the old firm is pretty big , has any of the 4 of use ever been involved in a game we’re you feel the opposition were only playing in 1st gear and if they were to switch up a few gears it would be game over pretty fast, basically felt like you didn’t belong on the same park as them - cheers colin

Question for next podcast " do you think that something massive needs to change in Scottish football for us to be competitive internationally ? Countries like Norther Ireland , Republic of Ireland and wales etc have arguably less top players than us but always massively overachieve. I feel like many Scottish players don't make it through the system due to being "too small" and look at players like Messi. They may not have even made it through our system

Halliday did remember, just didn't want to embarass himself. Rangers cheered when they got Celtic in the cup and then Celtic absolutely hammered them. Last time we played Real Madrid was 1980 or 81. We beat them at Celtic Park and Johnny Doyle scored.
