This is so much better than anything out there today...Still so refreshing. Just the right balance of technicality-simplicity, brutality-melody, it's organic. Love that puffy shirt!
I have loved the Frost for decades and never got to see them live until now. This is better than ANY new age metal coming out today! NOONE CAN TOUCH THE FROST !
FROST RULE. .....NOW AND THEN JUST FUCKING AWESOME. ....MASSIVE INFLUENCE ON ALL TYPES OF EXTREME MUSIC. ..PERIOD. ...!!!!!!! I'M 53 NOW AND STILL GET SHIVVVVERS FROM A BIT OF FROST. ...THANKS CROWEMAN IN THE UK (EX GENITAL DEFORMITIES )
I got suspended for a week in junior high in '85 for going to school with the cover of Emperor's Return painted on the back of my leather jacket. They actually brought my mom in and asked her how she could allow me to wear such "filth" to school. I told them both I wore it with pride! In a time when the world thought Metal was Motley Crew and Twisted Sister, these guys were way ahead of their time. Truly amazing stuff!
Merci ! ça me rappelle ma jeunesse (40 balais, c'est vieux, nan ?). Trop top. Pas étonnant que les jeunes se réfèrent à de tels groupes. Heureux d'avoir fait partie du tout. Aaaaargh !
I love the first three Celtic Frost albums. When they came out their primeval and rough sound confused a lot of people who thought heavy bands all had to have guitar solos and whatever. Great lyrics, gut punch guitar. I call his tone "dinosaur barf". I mean that in the best way possible!
@vidgamers I used to watch these guys on MTV Head Bangers Ball back in the 1980's. I love this music and I'll never grow to old to not listen to it. I got suspended to back in 1980, but something completely different.

Cuando vi por primera vez este video me llamo muchisimo la atencion ver a la gente tirarse desde el escenario, fue la primera vez que vi hacerlo...ya llovio desde entonces!
Haha great band with awesome music, one nice detail : my father was a taxidriver about 20 years ago and had celtic frost in his taxi to drive them to Scum katwijk for a concert where I was :)
ROTFL!! Right on!! Dead on!! I remember CF when CF came out and bought ALL their records... (Immediately recording them to tape to preserve the vinyl) - Ah those where the days... Not so long ago tho...
ya totally, i was pretty ripped at the show, and he asked me if I wanted a beer, the "Man" handed me a heinie. He was excited to hear how long I was a die hard listener from the beginning!! If ya get the chance, no matter what, go see them!!! mike
Man it is cool to see people react positively to old school primitive metal like this. In this time period it was the real do it yourself punk. Kids with dark overactive imaginations and lots of distortion pedals. CF and Venom were two of my faves.
Celtic Frost has gone through a few band membership changes since this VID, but the essence of CF music remains the same. Celtic Frost personifies being true to one's art.
I sing the ballads Of victory and defeat I hear the tales Of frozen mystery The new kingdoms rise / by the circle of the tyrants In the land of darkness / the warrior, that was me Grotesque glory / none will (ever) see them fall And hunts and war / are like everlasting shadows
en la actualidad hacen falta mas verdaderas bandas de esta calidad de interpretacion y poder.....lastima que por aca no hay apoyo......saludos desde mexico!
Just stumbled upon this reply my excitable friend. I'm 42 years old, I *was* one of those old fans that were around at the time. Genres were very wishy washy in those formative years of extreme metal, the first time I recall the term 'death metal' was for a compilation album featuring Helloween & Running Wild! Most of the magazines used to just throw the term thrash at anything that was outside of the box. I honestly don't recall death metal being a widely used term until the late 80s.
One of, maybe the only, bands I discovered just by perusing the albums at the store. Found "To Mega Therion" and thought, woah cool cover and bought it on that alone. Love it.
Yesssssssssssssss love it .it takes me back! Celtic frost rule .emperors return. morbid tales . To mega thereon. Masterpieces of not just metal BUT MUSIC! !!! THE CROWEMAN.
I had the life long dream come true by seeing them live in Ft Lauderdale, FL. Been a fan since HellHammer days. Can anyone say HellHammer! I actually got to meet Tom Warrior, so fuckin cool!! Keep it rockin, and anyone with "Frost" videos, keep postin'em. thx
After The Battle Is Over And The Sands Drunken The Blood All What There Remains Is The Bitterness Of Delusion The Immortality Of The Gods Sits At Their Side As They Leave The Walls Behind To Reach The Jewels Gleam The Days Have Come When The Steel Will Rule And Upon His Head A Crown Of Gold Your Hand Wields The Might The Tyrants The Precursor You Carry The Will As The Morning Is Near.
"Just when things were continuing to surge for the band, Tom walked away from the project, effectively closing the books on Celtic Frost (he has only said he left the group, but as he is the main force behind the band, it seems inconceivable that a new Celtic Frost could exist without him). Tom has vowed to continue making music in the new CF vein" source - bnrmetalDOTcom
First wave was Venom, Mercyful Fate and Celtic Frost (and other). Second wave was started by Mayhem and Darkthrone and includes other bands like Emperor, Satyricon and Immortal.
