Celtic secure the league, experienced heads and Scottish Cup final preview 

Gutted I can’t make it this year. Last year was my sons first game and the scenes outside paradise where fantastic for him. Such a wonderful spectacle for all. Great party atmosphere. The last 3 derbies have followed a fairly similar pattern. Celtic gain an early stranglehold on the game Celtic open the scoring and then go two up We've then failed to properly finish the job off in all 3 matches and in two of those matches we played against 10 men for a large chunk of the match. I mean I'll settle for another 2-1 victory that follows that exact same pattern but I would like to see us keep our foot on the gas, so to speak, for the full 90 minutes. I think we are capable of handing out a proper doing because I think quite a few in that rangers side are capable of chucking in the towel if we were to get that elusive 3rd goal..... As I said, I'll sign up for a 2-1 win right now (any win actually) but I just feel we're on the upswing in our current form and rangers are on a downswing and it could provide the perfect storm to see us hand out a proper doing like 4-0, 5-0 etc...

great chat guys , has to be the highwater mark for the pod this season , brilliant, re learned helplessness and rangers , im thinking its more cognitive dissonance this season , that is , what clement is saying, isnt matching the subtext of his tactics , clement isnt sticking to his principles re rangers style of play , one approach for europe and one for celtic . after the first derby , where clement tried monaco style , and actually had a transition game with possession, he reverted to gio and beale style man marking to stop celtics midfield . he could be forgiven for thinking such a strategy would work , but it is a misreading of the past, in that such approaches can get you closer , but not the spoils of victory, and the goal is to win. but it gets worse, what is experience , but a constant repetition and accurate execution of core competencies for the task at hand . and if our training is at divergence to our core belief system which clement has adopted all of his professional coaching career , we should not be surprised by the chaos that ensued since the tactical adjustment . rangers paid a huge price . a lot of energy , both physical and emotional went into clements plan of stoping celtics midfield in the 3,3 derby, instead of backing himself and his core beliefs , and 12 points dropped since that moment , and league lost. the irony is , had rodgers not changed tac after the hearts debacle , and jettisoned his mid speed ball balony in the final third , clement may have been the victor in this arm wrestle . both celtic and rangers finish with a net xg slightly above 1.6, which is a continuation of an alarming downward trend in the net xg differential between the old firm and the rest of the league , and if that trend continues next season , and we get below the dreaded 1.5 mark , it will be defiblirators at the ready next season as variance wreaks chaos. everybody is playing moneyball these days , and couple that with effective defensive transition tactics , more black swans are going turn up. i mean man c won the epl with a net xg of 1.25 , unheard of. for rodgers, winning the league should go some way to exorcising the demons of last season leceister . celtics performance much of the season was almost a carbon copy of rodgers final season at leceister, with the one key difference , he ran out of time at leceister to turn the ship around , at celtic , he had time to change , and it worked. the stats fit analysis i ran when rodgers got the gig , predicted celtic 4 lossess 7 draws , celtic got 3 and 6 , so thankfully mean error helped celtic out . keep up the great work guys,

Enjoyable as always, but for me, all a tad higgeldy - piggeldy in content/subject matter & lots of talk, or rather scoffing, about the other lot & that's fine, but as the man said, the punting graveyard is brimming full of favourites who lost & why on earth did nobody mention 25th May & this the most significant date in all of Celtic Football Club's illustrious history (???) & today's Final is ONLY going to be difficult & tense & I personally wouldn't be surprised or shocked if the match goes to extra time & regardless of the result, I look forward to The Huddle Breakdown's ''end of season review'' & of even more crucial importance, a '' look forward'' to next season & what MUST happen in this summer transfer window as being a pivotal part of this ''look forward....''
