Teresa may be a better player overall, but Jesus Christ, Mahouko's Bridgett is nothing to laugh at. Never seen a Bridgett with such good damage and pressure, even more so for a keepaway character of all things.
@@Supernir There's a RU-vid channel that's been uploading recent tournaments for this game, and some of the matches has Mike Z in them. I don't remember the name of the channel though.
**Starts with a guy in a Dave Strider tshirt** **Cuts to a dude dressed like an anime schoolgirl** God the guilty gear community is something else man...
@raxna gardjen Yes and no. Bridget really is a boy who is raised as a girl due to his village's superstition that twins of the same gender brings bad luck. The superstition is bullshit blazing (pun intended) and Bridget thinks so too. So he leaves the village as a bounty hunter with a believe that if he brings enough money (aka fortune in lots of people's eyes), his village will throw that superstition in the trash can and he (along with probably other twins and future twins of the same gender in his village) doesn't have to pretend to be a girl anymore. He knows well from when he is born that he's a boy (he still has a d*ck anyway), and also he loves his parents that he follow through pretending to be a girl in his childhood years. So he doesn't leave his parents because he one day realizes that he's actually a boy (!?), but because he wants to illuminate his village. Sorry if the reply is too long and contains bad language, but that should do it with Bridget's backlore.
The stick that Mahouko uses is terrible, i use to have one of those and it sucks, i assume it's modify because there's no way you can go to top 2 in a tournament with that shit.
43:05-he went for the IK?! I like that. Always go for the pop off finish. 1:00:49-lmao, walking the dog! These some high level players. 1:02:44-NOW THATS A LOT OF DAMAGE. 1:12:42 to 1:19:50 ha! Pot vs. Zoners
@@m.z6610 Because he has a twin brother and the place he comes from thought twins of the same sex were bad luck. Dressing like a girl is supposed to be an ailment against the bad luck. His entire reason for going away from home and becoming a successful bounty hunter is to prove the superstition wrong so that he can stop crossdressing.
Great commentary btw.. the audio levels and the ability to quickly point out good, was way more solid than the Rev2 boys... which was nearly unwatchable.
I hope they include every gear character, since they said they're making the new game more accessible to new players i feel like they should include all characters to make new players interested in the actual story more than just any single game.
I hope so, too. If they can no longer incorporate older characters into the new story (for instance, Venom becoming a baker at Rev 2 after retiring from the assassin life), they should just add them as "guest" characters - just as AC+ did by bringing back Justice and Kliff, two characters who have been dead since the first installment. I personally think removing characters from the roster because of story reasons is bullshit because at the end of the day the game's story matters zilch in matches/tournaments.
@@Wiziliz Of course, that's a given. But seeing your favorite characters brought back and re-imagined in better graphics is a great feeling, not to mention that some players play and buy a fighting game specifically because of a certain character they're strongly attached to. Those players won't even bother with the game if their main isn't in it. Like I said, if Arcsys can bring back Justice and Kliff as guest characters in +R, I don't see how they can't do that again for future installments of Guilty Gear.
@@cavendish2925 Yeah, I'll admit I'd love to see Kliff in the new style, but won't expect ir because of the story and will be excited to see who else will be in, in his place. I'm more interested in who is then who isn't.
Watching this game, as a complete stranger to it, reveals something about GG. It has too many moments where I can't distinguish what the fuck is going on. When you pause and look, it's not clear enough whether it was a mid or low attack. I noticed the same on Rev 2. There are too many effects going on and overlapping each other, even the character sprites overlapping each other and blocking a clear view of the moves that are being used (34:54, 35:04, 35:23, 45:12, 45:23, for example). I'm sure there is nothing unclear to someone who plays this game all the time, but this is really diminishing the spectacle of watching. It feels like someone is constantly passing between you and the monitor, obstructing vision. I was playing to buy Rev 2 for the christmas sale, but this one annoyance convinced me that I wouldn't be having a good time.
Strive is looking to simplify some of the craziness, and although long time GG fans are mad at this prospect (myself not included even though I've been a fan for 15+ years) this should help new players get into the game. New game will be a lot more grounded, moving to more of a juggling system instead of an air combo system (although they still exist for some characters it looks like) and neutral will be emphasized with the wall break mechanic limiting corner pressure. I for one am hype for the new game, and I am hoping it will do better than older games at gathering a new wave of players.
@@GriFFonRec4 I just expect one thing from the game for me to not be disappointed. Well, two things. Great net code and a fast lobby system where I can quickly get into the next match.
@@Eqvil That last part depends on how many people pick up the game. Playing Xrd is a graveyard at the moment, so all I can really do is play single player unfortunately, so I'm really hoping this game can draw in the new blood with how GORGEOUS it is. It's funny because Xrd has some of the best single player content in a fighting game ever lol. Arcade mode with a story to it, a straight up ANIME IN GAME to get you invested in the characters and story if you wanna go that route. An RPG like mode where you can use items and just in general play with a different flavor than he competitive side of things. The only thing I kind of wish it had was a side scroll beat em up type of game mode like Isuka had, though Isuka was the weird GG in the series.
@@GriFFonRec4 I get why they’re reducing the craziness but honestly plus r looks much more fun to me, because of the crazy shit going on here. Strife looks so sterile and a bit boring in comparison. Is it much easier to get into? Yeah strive is way better for this. I couldn’t imagine getting into +r now with all these veterans but I also much prefer watching +r
mike Z's actually a Beast. always been. it's hard to outdo others though when you're focusing on other projects. Hope he wins a good place if not 1st soon. And wtf....bridget -_-
glad they fixed jam in xrd somewhat cause that sht very unfun to fight, at least soul have to hit you right or Milia gotta get things going she just land stray hit boom 30% for flinching chump A fast character with good buttons and conversions off of everything plus can 50-60% whole cast almost with one combo She should of been banned
