I just bury my car in the yard, takes a while, but man does it stay cool.

This is an excellent way to demonstrate the relative difference between tints. It doesn't matter if the heat lamp was an inch further or closer away from the window between the two tests, what matters is the relative difference between the tints. The ceramic tint was ten times better than the conventional tint. That is a massive difference and moving it one inch further or closer away probably only changed it to be 9.99999999999999999 times better, which is just not possible to feel, so effectively this test/demonstration was done properly. I have the ceramic tint...Makes a very notable difference...My interior is all black but this tint is a life saver in Texas. I love it and it looks great on my truck.

Ceramic tint is expensive, but it really does work. If you're used to driving a car with it, you'll immediately notice a huge difference when you drive or ride in a car that doesn't. And the benefits are two-fold, as it protects your skin and also the interior. The dash and leather on my 2013 Ford Fusion still looks and feels like new. But make sure you get it from a legit shop. Mine came with a lifetime warranty, so if it ever starts to bubble or crack, I get it replaced for free.

I didn’t realize there were so many ceramic tint haters out there. It’s the way to go. Find a good professional shop with good reviews. Professional shops that offer name brand tint often come with warranties. So many ppl just want that cheap ish and they get cheap results. Ceramic tint drastically cut down heat in my car and will be on every car I get from here on out.

I really enjoyed this video. One tiny observation; Is the light further away from the glass when testing the ceramic tint? The side by sides look different. I'd like to see a measuring tape if possible.

I just got a new car with leather seats living in arizona. Ceramic tint sounds like a must, glad I saw this video beforehand.

I got fx tint and at first I paid 220 for my t-tops and driver/passenger window 5% . I never got my windows tinted before so I though it was pretty pricey. However watching how careful and patient you have to be I changed my mind. Still feel some heat but it was mostly for privacy and some protection for the leather interior. Looks good, feels good👍🏻

I called around and seems like none of the interns in my area do ceramic. One even told me he doesn’t do it because it interferes with your cell and radio signals! That was the reason ceramics came about to solve that problem which metal based films had. I have a 2000 BMW 528i (E39) and let me tell you I wish this thing had a UV blocking tint installed before I got it. Every piece of trim in this car snaps and Preakness if you just look at it. If you want to preserve the interior of your car for years to come I’d say tinting with ceramic is a must.

I can support this about ceramic tint. Here in Illinois the legal limit is 35% VLT all around. I ended up getting Huper Optik Ceramic 40% VLT just to stay on the safe side of legal. It makes a huge difference. There are days I can just drive with the windows up and only fresh air in the car, no A/C and be comfortable. Combine this with a sunshade for the hottest days while parked and the car stays very nice with just the sunroof cracked.

I've gotten ceramic film on my last 3 vehicles, a bit more pricy but well worth the price in this Houston heat..

2:54 and 3:13 lol joke comparison test. I had Viper ceramic tint installed, they no longer make it. I do feel a small difference while driving with ac blasting but that's it, it doesn't keep inside of car cooler while parked outside like I was told, way over priced imo also.

notice the distance of the light,it is not the same with the one that they are promoting..should be done on actual heat coming from the sun

I will look into ceramic for my wife’s van. It also looks like the heat lamp was at a further distance and angle from the ceramic tint compared to how it was positioned for the regular tint. The lamp temperature, distance and angle has to be constant for this to be accurate. Also any ambient temps and airflow differences must be noted.

If you’re about to make a decision to go for ceramic tint or nah, choose ceramic. Just had mine done and made a HUGE difference especially here in Australia. My car AC is thanking me heaps

Is there anyway to find out if my tint was actually ceramic without having an installer remove it?

Thanks for the info. I’ve seen the clear ceramic film offered and just thought well that’s for people who want 100% light. I never even thought about the benefit of adding clear ceramic to film to the windshield.

of course its stil gonna get hot, its like being in an oven, eventually it ALL gets hot. the point is that it slows down the rate of heat by blocking a lot of sunlight and 'some' heat as it sits still for short durations. but all in all, they're all gonna eventually get hot, simply the rate/speed of which determined by the tint.

just got ceramic tint. feels like my a/c works twice as good now, where as before it would take a long time for my car to hit that cool level or never really get cool enough.

I have ceramic tint on all my cars and it makes a huge difference when keeping heat out. Down here in the South when it gets super hot in the summer, ceramic is the only way to go. Trust me. Be sure to tint the windshield also.

I have ceramic 5% on my truck with a black leather interior and i live in florida where it can get up to 100 degrees and i will get in my truck and it feels cool as if it was sitting in the shade, when i am driving around i run my ac until it gets cold then usually turn it off vs my car thats not tinted the ac staysss on

You need to clarify. The darker the tint )conventional( doesn’t mean it blocks hear. The only thing darker tint dose is add privacy. So conventional tint regardless of percentage is only privacy 50% blocks the same as 5%.

Is there a way to know if ceramic tint was installed instead of the cheaper stuff when picking up the vehicle from the tint shop?

In my country we are not allowed to tint the front doors but I’m getting my back doors and back window tinted with ceramic 20%. I took it too the pros goes to the shop in a couple days here my car parks outside I hope it’ll help with the summer heat a bit and going make the car look more stylish this cars almost 20 years old so it’s getting a little upgrade

You read 80 on the back & 40 on the front with ceramic tint, isn't supposed to be the opposite since the back door is darker? 🤔🤨🤔

why was the % percent hotter than the 30% in the front?

great video. 30% tint can get you pulled over depending on the cop and depending on the state. i have 2 shades of regular tint on my drivers side window. i have 5% & 30% over it, its pretty dark, but still feel the heat. i need to upgrade to ceramic tint for sure.

Which ceramic do you use? Suntek CIR? 3M Crystalline? Is LLumar/formula one film even good? I had suntek CXP a year ago. That made a pretty big world of difference. the 80% VLT tint (40% heat rejection) film you could still feel. But the 60% heat rejection film was a blessing. Both reduced so much glare like sunglasses I couldn't believe it.

What's the typical cost for tinting with ceramic coating film for a Model 3 for example? Do you cover the back of the roof glass?

Seems like you should be holding the light at the same distance, since the fall-off is exponential.

Now why did 30% tint have a lower heat number than the 5% with the ceramic tint? Shouldn't it have been the other way around?

of course the stable heat that car reaches will be the same. Tint doesn't impact that. Radiated heat exposure when in the car you can change.

I like how he “compared” the heat level but didn’t place the light as close to the windows when testing their product. Yeah he said it’s double digits on the 5% but when he moves the meter it reads triple digits because it was closer to the light. If you’re gonna do a comparison and talk down about your “competitor” then at least do it in a fair manner.

I just got my car done today with ceramic. Windshield 70% and all other windows 30%. Had I knew then what I knew now, I would go 70% all around. The ceramic UV protection is the same at any level darkness, but wanting a better look made me go for the 30%. The 70% is about as dark as carbon's 30%. Even at the shop in watching them take it off the rolls I wonder if they messed up and gave me darker. Oh well. Younger days I went black. Now I still want the look, but don't want to squint at night either. The 70% through two windows is DARK and quite reflective. I got Suntek and otherwise no regrets. There are a few rules when you get tinted and a couple concerns at first. There are quite a lot of bubbles in the windshield that are said to come out in 3 days, though a week to complete, yet it also states the film adhesive isn't 100% cured until 30 days. No washing the tint for a week and no rolling down windows for 3 days. I have an infiniti G37 coupe (2009) and they go down a tad when you open them. The installer used a heat gun on the side windows to be safe. I live in southwest FL and no regrets on the expense over carbon crap tint. Major difference in being parked in the sun, no overcast on a 90° day for 7 hours. Longer than I normally go without being in my car unless it's the start of the day at its coldest at 5:30am. All 4 side windows and rear was $450. The windshield alone was $150. After 7% tax I paid $641.99. Only regret is I should have done 70% all around and still had a dark outside to inside view. It's stated the the reflection is far less than what I see. Unless right up close to it, it's impossible to see in my car and highly reflective. Up close you can see all the letters of my gear shift in the center. Back up a foot and you cannot. My G37 looks amazing, but it would have held onto the same look as well as more elegance with 70% all around I think. I have two roommates with tinted crap carbon. One is limo tint on a Jag, (5%) from out of state, and they say I'll quickly get used to it. I hope so. Due to the covid crap I drive my work truck 90% of the time so less worries on accidentally putting my windows down in the next couple of days. I've done over $8k worth of mods on my G37 in the passed 3 months and have hundreds of hours of footage that I'll put into videos on another channel as time permits. I'll post a video to show my 30% & 70% ceramic.

Can you measure the temperature with a regular thermostat?

anyone doubting the difference hasn’t had the opportunity to appreciate the difference. I had ceramic all the around on my white truck and it was like the ac was on vs the same packaged white truck pre tint. My girlfriend has a white Model 3 with white interior and ceramic tint. I sat inside it for 45 minutes in the Arizona sun at 85* ambient before I wanted to turn on climate control. If you live where it’s hot buy a light colored car and get ceramic tint. Life in the car is just better I promise

What happens if you double it up

The difference between regular tint and ceramic tint is the regular only filters out the light and the ceramic filters out the light and UV RAYS , it's the uv Ray's that causes the heat. So regardless of how he held the light. Ceramic tint is just better. My 17 shadow black mustang gt would get up to around 140° with the premium regular tint. I changed to ceramic tint last weekend (July 4 weekend) now it only gets up to 105-110. Sitting in the sun all day. HUGE DIFFERENCE

Can you get clear ceramic tint for the windshield just for the heat rejection it should offer? I would think the windshield due to it's size and angle would be one of the biggest areas of heat penetration?

Just got ceramic on my Elantra. Not sure if its working yet. I should have measured the temp inside a few times before having it installed. People need to ge sure to take into account the cars OEM tint when deciding what tint to get. My car has about 75 VLT. I went with 40 VLT on all glass except the windshield. With the factory tint my glass looks very dark, probably illegal.

I have 5% on my 2004 Optima in FL. It's 5 years old and the rear window has a sticky film on it that won't wipe off. Might get this ceramic tint; never heard of it till today. My AC compressor and other components have a lifetime warranty, and I've used it once already. Tint is awesome but if I ever had to choose, I'd rather have AC. And I pay a ticket about 1x per year for my tint. $130

I like how yall are comparing two different types of tint but have u ever did a detailed comparison with 3m ceramic, huper optic, spectra photosync, xpel XR, etc?

Can you compare with temperature readings instead of btu. Think that would debunk more issues. Show 2 cars that have been sitting in sun, one with reg and other with ceramic, have thermometer in each and show how much cooler ceramic is car is.

On my last 2 cars with ceramic tint, when wearing polarized sunglasses it wacked out the colors outside, white cars looked pink, and flowers were psychedelic. With my current ceramic tint that's not happening. Is this a sign that I didn't get ceramic, or could it be a different type?
