This video shows the configuration of the Cessna 172SP NAV III G1000 Nxi system for flight, and procedures for entering a flight plan including a user defined Lat/Long waypoint. In part two, we will jump to the simulator and store/retrieve the flight plans, and cover some other procedures that come in handy!

Ron I hope you'll have part 2 on the G1000 NXi. This is the only demo I can find on a real aircraft and not on Flight Simulator. Your explanation is so easy to follow and makes a lot of intuitive sense. Thank you for taking the time to do this for the GA community. As more private aircraft's are equipped with G1000 NXi, more and more people will benefit from your video.

Super cool, I had my first discovery flight a few days ago and now I can't stop binge watching aviation videos 😮. Any tips for someone wanting to learn as much as possible before starting flight training?

I recommend watching as many videos as possible… watch accidents as well… we learn from someone else’s mistakes… it is important to watch what we need to do… but also what not to do… airspeed is almost sacred…I could say so much… just study and study before flying… the cockpit is a bad classroom… you basically go there to apply what you know or try it …etc etc

yeah what the h do you need that for. I quit watching this video because of it. Too bad because it looked promising. Hint: Title scene no more than 10 second. 5 is plenty. NO loud music
