Nice wood - interesting sounds from the tap-tone - not too clear from the video - and from your description the smell is really pleasing - aromatic. Love the figuring on the set and the guitar back - awesome. Have you made any classical guitars Tom?
I've never heard of this wood, but it's really interesting looking. Btw, it'd be cool to see your whole wood collection, and how you've got it stored/organized. That's one aspect of my shop that needs an overhaul, so I'd be curious to see what your stash looks like.
Have you tried using teak? It’s a nightmare to machine 10% silica by weight but it’s supposed to be as good as rosewood sound wise as it is tremendously dense. I’ve just cut some and it’s lovely pink and gold colours. P.s. also Iroko, which is a beautiful wood to work and looks very nice.
