@@yaz4577 I've read about quite a few people saying they've tried using apple cider vinegar on it! Apparently dipping a cotton bud in Bragg's organic "with the mother" apple cider vinegar and applying it gently to either the lump on the outside of the lid or to the white head on the inner lid (very carefully and not releasing the lid until the stinging stops!) once or twice a day has really helped their swelling to go down. There are some videos on it and some forums with links to the best cider to buy so I hope that helps!

After having one of these and trying loads of different things, I finally found a solution! My chalazion had gone hard and would not weep at all. I bought an electric heated eye mask off eBay for about 7GBP. I folded the heating part in two, and wore the eye mask like a patch over one eye every evening sat on the sofa. Having this warm compress on it for hours and hours seemed to melt the hardened oil down and open all the pores up. It began to weep, a small amount at a time, and within a week it was gone! Everything else I had tried beforehand - cider vinegar, massaging, warm compress with a cloth etc - made it more red and irritable, and didn't have heat on it for long enough to melt the solidified oil. This info didn't seem to be anywhere on the net when I had my chalazion, so hope that sorts them all for you!

Rowan Read I’ve had mine for about 4 months now, it’s grown in size and hardened on my upper left eyelid. Tried using microwaveable eye mask but the heat dissipates after 7-8 minutes. Just makes it red and sore. Massages don’t work. Neither did the apple cider vinegar gimmick. I’m hoping the persistent heat you mentioned will get rid of this stubborn thing! Will let you know... :)

Hey guys, so I wanted to share my experience with one too. I've seen a lot of people in the comments say they haven't tried any home remedies yet and are thinking of a surgical procedure. So I got one in the beginning of September of this year (2020) and it initially started out as this boil. I could feel the inflammation on under my lower eyelid of my right eye. I thought it was a simply stye and decided to give it a heat compress and the next day, the pain went away but the size grew bigger. After 3-4 days, it had developed into this small bead like structure which I could feel and it was very much visible too which sucked. I left it for a few days trying not to think about it. It never went away though so I decided to watch a few videos to about them to get some home remedies. So I started this from the 16th of September. During shower time, I used to let the warm water run over my eyelid and I used to gently massage it downwards. Then in a day, I used to give it warm compresses at least four times and used to massage my eyelid whenever I could. Over the course of 3 weeks, I saw wonderful results. The bump's size reduced and it was non existent by mid Oct. Even now, I can feel a tiny bit of it inside but it doesn't show up and it is painless, doesn't even seem like it's there. I wouldn't say it's fully cured as I can still feel a bit of it left but this remedy helped me a lot. So before you think of going for surgeries, maybe try giving this a go. You never know. Hope this helps :)

To anyone who is suffering From a chalazion that is not responding to the warm/hot compress , tea bags , colloidal silver , apple cider vinegar & Epsom salts, & all the other so called fast chalazion home remedies ..... This is what i did. After trying everything in the book known to man. I put a dab of ginger juice on the chalazion. It had been there for over a year and nothing , I mean nothing helped. The ginger immediately stung and a few hours later the chalazion flared up and became angry and red. It looked like it would explode. But it didn't , not immediately. I read that using bentonite clay on any cyst when it is red and angry and imflammed was better ,and more likely to work ...than using it when the cyst was just there and not red and angry. I put bentonite clay on my eye and covered it with a bandage for Several hour until the clay dried. Then took it off , rinsed my eye. And then I took hot green tea bags (before I had used other types of tea) green tea is excellent for drawing out oral infections so I figured it would probably have some pulling action on the contents of the chalazion, i was not wrong. Each time I would do Bentonite clay packs , and then a green tea bag , the chalazion would come to a head more and more. I would alternate the clay and the tea. All day. I would keep the tea bag on my eye over night , in a bandage. Finally on the second day , in the morning when I removed the tea bag bandage , there was a small amount of chalazion goo. I did take breaks to let my eye get Some air for a couple hours at a time. But for the most part I aggressively alternated clay and green tea. I did try to gently push on the chalazion to help it drain. Very gently. It eventually drained from one head , and a second one formed !! I alternated the clay and tea for 4 days straight each day more stuff would come out. When the main core of the chalazion came out it looked like a parasite !!! It was disgusting. After the chalazion was completely drained , I would do clay and tea once a day , until the hole was healed up and the scar was gone. I hope this helps someone. I was so miserable, for over a year with this horrible cyst on my eyelid. I don't have insurance so I couldn't get surgery , and I've read that surgery is risky and can damage the eyelash glands causing more chalazia and that wasn't something I wanted to go through even if I had insurance. Im not sure if the ginger made it flare up , or if it was going to flare up on it's own anyways . But the bentonite clay and green tea definitely made it drain . I have no scar. The chalazion has not returned. It's been gone for 5 months. Avoid oil based products on your face. I had also tried over the counter stye medicine and herbal stye eye drops to no avail. Message me if you want more details I have gruesome photos of the Whole process , and links to how bentonite clay can be used for eye health. Also wash your hands constantly when touching the chalazieye and be careful none of the contents of the cyst get into your eye. Flush your eye out regularly when doing the clay/tea treatment.

We recommend this warm eye compress (amzn.to/2YHTySP) before getting a surgical consult.

Try Similasan stye eye relief eye drops. I had a chalazion the size of a pea in my upper eyelid and had been trying everything (compresses for 15-20 minutes with cloth and heat masks, salt eye baths, massage therapy after heat, tea bags, etc) I only noticed a big difference after, out of desperation, I grabbed this from the pharmacy shelf (along with baby shampoo so get that too and use it regularly to clean the eye), I used 3 drops 3 times a day, I think it's most effective to use right before bed so your eye stays closed while the liquid is in it. 2 days in a row after using it I woke up with gunk in my eye from drainage and it is less than half the size and less red. I was the same as you and hadn't touched it for a week, on week three and almost gone in 2 days using this eye drop, I also continued salt bath and baby shampoo, with the odd compress. Honestly though I think the sulphur in the drops is doing it.

That or the sea salt I switched to (you put sea salt in a glass with warm/hot water, mix it then put it to your eye so that your eye is soaking in it, hold it there for a minute making sure to open your eye and move it in circles. Do that 3 times or so a day. If that doesn't work tries those eye drops.

If the chalazion is small, does it go away on its own?

I’m 19 and I’ve had one on my lower eyelid for about half a year. It drains occasionally but stays the same size. I feel so ugly and my self esteem is in the toilet because of this. Every time I go outside, I want to hide from and run away from all the people I see. I’ve tried warm compresses and eye drops and even Apple cider vinegar. Looking at commenters who say they’ve had it for years makes me even sadder. I might be stuck like this forever. I don’t have health insurance and I really don’t know how much longer I can take this. I might actually kill my self. I don’t know what to do.

Talk to your eye doctor for a custom treatment plan. Sometimes low dose antibiotics help decrease hordeolums from reoccuring and converting to chalazions.

Listen, you don’t need to kill yourself because of this. I don’t have insurance either but went to the doctor anyway, just save a little money and go. He will give you antibiotics and that is gna be down in less than a week. In the meantime keep putting warm compresses. I found out that dry warm compresses are better. Use a sock and put rice inside (uncooked), close it and put it in the microwave for 10 or 15 seconds, depends, be very careful before putting this to your eye because it can be too hot so you check. Put it on top of ur closed eye for 10 minutes 4 times a day everyday until it’s gone!

Saeyka no. It’s the byproduct of a style (also known as a hordeolum).
