In this episode of Remrov's World of Autism Remrov talks about the issues he encountered with a course he had to do for his job. He encountered the same problems he had in school. He explains why the course was almost impossible for him to do, and he also gives solutions on how to make a course doable for autistic people.

I love your thought bubbles! Im so glad you get to keep your job and hope it goes well. I have central auditory processing disorder. I find its easier to look away and listen only because i cant see, hear, and understand all at the same time.

I totally react to that. I tend to also look away when people are talking because if i make eye contact it distracts me a lot. And I find eye contact intimidating as well.

Thank you very much! Echo, well, my partner and I broke up, and Echo stayed with him. Since I have a full time job now I can't take care of him. It was a difficult choice, but it wouldn't be good for Echo to be alone so much.

Not long ago I saw a video, that didn't;t have anything to do with autism, but in the background it had a big poster with the text: "Sink or swim". That's how everything feels actually. I just have to keep on going. My full time job is a struggle, but at least all my colleagues are nice. I wish I could have kept Echo, but its just not possible, so it's best to look ahead instead of backwards.

I'm sorry that you ahem difficulties with studying too. For me it was always better to study by myself quietly from a book fr example.

Thank you for including your thoughts on how this type of presentation or learning material could be improved. If I’m ever in a position in the future where I have to make something similar I will keep what you said in mind. Making a plain version with clear audio and subtitles, with any extra information shown separately instead of all at once- and then a flashy one for people who prefer a more stimulating presentation. This way people can have a choice.

Hi Remrov. Sorry to hear you had difficulty with your course, but so pleased for you for getting a perfect score. Congratulations on retaining your job. Did you say you had a month of training to do still? Lol, I guess I should have listened to your video again, before commenting. I like to have the CC on while watching TV, and while watching music videos. My spouse doesn’t like it, but I am so used to it, as my mother was deaf. As long as the text is showing, would it help you to mute the sound? Do you know your employers next customer? Maybe you could find out some information about them, to help you become familiar with them? Very happy you were chosen to stay employed. I hope everything else is going well for you. Thank you very much. I often have the CC on when washing movies. With the course I could not turn off the sound, because most of it was only spoken, so then i would miss that all. With movies it would be boring without the sound. The customer of my company is a video game company, just like the last one. They are called clients actually. And we will do their customer care. The customers are all the people who play the video games.

First like.... 😀. 9-5 sounds great. Take on all the classes and free learning they offer. Have you tried Noise Isolating Headphones ? 100 % on your test is pretty cool. Have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you. For the course I had to wear headphones since I had to listen to the videos on my computer at work. But the music was part of the videos, constant background music during that whole video presentation. I wish you a wonderful weekend too :)
