#shorts video showing Champion Scottish Highland dancer Rachael Walker giving a demonstration of the Highland Dance 'Wilt Thou Go to the Barracks, Johnny?"' (aka Barracks Johnny) This was part of her displays during the 2020 #VirtualHighlandGames in Braemar, Scotland.
Rachael from Fettercairn in Aberdeenshire has won many championship and premiership titles and is currently the Champion of Champions winner of Australia. Michelle from Huntly in Aberdeenshire has around 100 championship titles, including British, Scottish, Commonwealth and European championships, and won the Junior World Championship at the Cowal Highland Gathering in 2018.

I used to train six plus hours a day when I was competing at Premier level, but we didn’t have any teachers in our state back then, so a group of us got together and taught ourselves from the books.

Irish dancing originated from the peat being set afire . Highland dancing originates from wearing kilts in the land of the thistle . English dancing originates from wearing very heavy wooden clogs , which absorb moisture so preventing the wearer lifting their feet .😮

As a highland man I would say that it’s fine for women to wear men’s clothing , but kilts should be worn in the traditional way by both sexes !

Lovely and sharp and turned out,but watch your timing Rachel. You are way off all the way through. Listen to the music and count it out and watch yourself. You will see what I mean. The piping is a little erratic in places mind you. You have a lot of talent, but timing is really important.
