Imagine when Chandler was born ,they were probably so happy and in love with him they had no idea that baby would grow up and burn their heads in a fireplace. Wtf

She's literally the entire relationship, Chandler's part could be fulfilled by a cardboard cutout 😂

I love how he's describing his workouts while in jail. The intense shock push ups. He should be proud of himself, what, with overcoming such a major neck and back injury and the impending paralysis that came with it. It's a true miracle, I guess.

poor Chandler have to eat sloppy joes for thanksgiving. I bet if his mom has alive, she would have made him a big thanksgiving turkey dinner after he could have had his pumpkin pie in his couch fort next to the fireplace he burned her body in.

These are such boring conversations but they still blow my mind. Idk how old she is but it reminds me of when I was 15 and in my first relationship with a crappy guy and just the absolute neediness and denial. It's like a common thing to go through but she's has been told lies and manipulated to a degree most people will not experience.. She's still in that super fragile state of womanhood and I hope she can find some strength and not just end up "dating'' a murderer long distance and settling for crumbs of affection. He just seems like a huge burden to have lingering around, she needs to get MAD at him!

I have SO many questions. She calls him "my good boy". I cannot understand. I think my favourite part is where he complains about not having a therapist like Cat has. Poor monster.

Ironic how he says cats are disgusting animals, yet he violently killed his own parents for no reason other than he’s a spoiled brat and then mutilated their corpses. It doesn’t get more disgusting than him.

The minute his fragile ego was literally about to be seriously poked.. he kills his parents and chops them up. They sound like such a fun couple. When Chandler stated his brother was all for locking him up I started to get a bit excited, waiting for Kat to say well yes you killed his parents or confront him or something , but no silence for a sec and yeah well the dogs are fine ... Seriously

She sounds incredibly immature! This is wild. Even taking the murder part out of it, I get the feeling this is how their conversations typically went. No depth, just small talk and she sounds like she has a school girl crush on him and he sounds completely uncaring and devoid of emotion. Such a weird “relationship”… strange

So, Cat doesn't care that he's a pathological liar and deceived her for months about jobs, school, etc. the way he deceived his parents? Wow.

Thank you for including the crime scene photos. Having that opportunity, served as a window into Bart and Krista’s personal lives. I felt as if I gained a sense of closeness to them. RIP Bart and Krista….gone but never forgotten.

Sooo funny that there is NO mention of any head trauma , paralysis etc 😂. Doing 200 pushups , cognition clearly very sharp during his calls. Very strange how Cat seems not to believe he is a murderer. Just weird how she behaves.

What baffles me is how he even has her putting money on his books and saying you can do it when you get your paycheck tomorrow or Saturday smh and she even stated how she was dog sitting for extra money just to waste on that biodegradable waste

I was so frustrated listening to her not confront him about anything and ask any hard questions, but then I remember she was only 20. And also their relationship probably only survived 2 years because she didn’t confront him on any of his obvious lies and BS regarding his made up job and college career. I can’t imagine dating someone accused of something so heinous and not asking “why would they accuse you of this? Did you do it? “ and so much more. Like she literally spent the weekend at his parents house with their dead bodies in there

Of note: Cat's mother is no longer on these calls. It is beyond creepy that Cat is still sounding loving on the calls.

Imagine all the footage of the interviews, the patrol car rides, the phone calls from jail and your testimony at trial, from a time when you were so young and naive and in love with a cold blooded murderer, being archived and accessible to everyone in the world, forever! I really feel sorry for her.

I want to hear where the breakdown of the relationship is. When she realizes he’s a murderer. She’d could have been next. His mom was sweet too.

I just can't get over how their making movie & cooking plans like he's out of town & not in jail. No wonder this evil, narcissistic sociopath had them believing his lies! Yes, they're nice people, but VERY naive, & Cats VERY immature. It's such a sad case, I do feel sorry for everyone surrounding this case. 😢

She sounds pretty miserable overall. this makes me wonder if she's still really in denial or almost aware that he is guilty but can't bring herself to let go and move on due to how difficult it will be to face up to what he's done. she tells him she's so so bored all the time without him - she doesn't seem to have found another life purpose other than him yet.

This must be her first serious relationship.. you cant imagine breaking up cuz you'd die. The monster he's a sociopath narcissist, who has complete control over her. Reading the pages of text messages, (Rottweiler has put together for us) between the lovebirds helped me understand how sick they were with each other. He says , Cat have fun but then you hear him in the phone calls ...his tone. Who did you go with, what did you do. He doesn’t want her life goin on without him . She apologizes in text messages when she doesn't have more to put on his jail commissary bank Or when she cant pay the attorneys faster.. he doesnt want her life to go on without him. I'm sure part of him is terrified she will turn against him. I wrote under the texting video,, wondering who gave her the straight story ..and did she believe them. Also is there any chance the police wanted her to stay sweet and in contact with him. Hoping they may get crime details, the Why's he did it, more hidden weapons and sadly parts of his parents. Like everyone says their Conversations are so fluff, no depth, no deep intellectual talks. He is a spoiled child looking to Cat to be his Mother and she's got insecurities galore. She's looking for someone to take care of and her constant need for reassurance. Lovey dovey notes and future promises to cuddle n cook ..and most importantly be the Only One who has his heart. It doesn't seem possible that by November that she would still believe in his innocence.

People saying “whyyy would she stick by him?” Have never been in an abusive relationship-bc it’s probably the same type of trauma bond. She stayed with him when he cheated too. You do really dumb things when you know you don’t know how to ask for better for yourself.

The body was found on her property, and she still thinks he has nothing to do with it. By this point of what happened he doesn’t gett arrested until after they find the torso. I don’t understand how she still talking to him that shit blows my mind.

This is one case that’s really hard to understand bc there were no extenuating circumstances in this guy’s history that can make sense of the murders AND ESPECIALLY the dismemberment! It’s only when i really sit and think about this guy actually putting his parent’s heads in the fireplace that leaves me in absolute disbelief. Those poor people 😢 RIP

So hard to listen to these calls. Kat & her mom were well aware of the crime and the evidence they had against him. There’s not that much love in the world, this was just a boyfriend to her. He wasn’t family, even if he was no excuse to associate with this habitual liar and now convicted murderer.

The final image in your slideshow of their beautiful wedding photo was actually heartbreaking. They both looked so young and beautiful. How sad that they were murdered so young.

I don’t think Cat understands that had she went into any of the rooms he kept her out of the weekend he killed his Parents, He would have added her to the mix with no hesitation, You can tell by these conversations she has not processed that she was there with the chopped up bodies of his Parents, He kept her a way from areas of the house so he could later dismember them for transport…he had sex with her that night and sent her home that morning so he could start the process of hiding the bodies ..ijs She seems to be clueless to the degree he would gone had she saw what he was up to..

Honestly the thing that got me the most was Chandler saying that Mitchell was determined to "send him away" .He had a real nasty edge to his voice which was the real Chandler peeking thru!

I just wanted to say thank you for posting these. ❤. I wrote an article about this case for Medium. Listening to these phone calls had made me so grateful that I never killed anyone (especially my parents) and am not waiting in jail to go to prison for life. Or waiting to be on trial with a life sentence hanging over my head. Damn. My life might not be perfect, at all... but at least I’m not Chazzle Dazzle ✌️

I'm listening to the whole thing here, but aside from the evidence photos, this is the most banal, boring, painfully average set of discussions I have heard in a while. I just don't understand how she can talk to him like they are chatting about little nothings and giggling and bantering about movies and food, all while he is in jail for murdering and dismembering his parents. The denial or the naivety she must be experiencing just blow me away. Does she even have a clue? They carry on as if he will be home in a few days to hang out in his "couch fort" and eat pizza rolls again. This is so weird.

This is beyond disturbing. The mundane bs conversations in the scheme of things is maddening.

This is long but bare with me. Let’s just pretend he didn’t kill his parents 1. is it not weird to Cat that he doesn’t seem bothered both his parents are DEAD? Not only dead but chopped up? They’re talking as if he’s just deployed. He never talks about his parents, never seems sad. 🚩🚩 2. He uses the whole “can’t talk about the case” BS to avoid any talk of his parents. Does she not get that if someone was innocent, that’s all they’d want to talk about!!! They would be out of their minds in there with debilitating sadness and anger over the injustice and a burning desire to get out of there. 3. They wouldn’t use all their calls on their GF talking about fishing and video games if he’s innocent being accused of double homicide and dismembering they’d corpses. He would be at least trying to help his case. It’s a long shot but you’d try anything. 4. Problem is she conditioned herself to believe she had this older, great catch, who is gonna give her a great life while simultaneously being so naive to the prestige of SpaceX and the interview process of places like that. It’s like Google. People do like 5 rounds of interviews and the applicant pool is like Harvard. No offense but a small time community/technical college undergrad with a “solar certificate” (even if any of that WAS true), with the vocab of a paper towel and who is so so short-sighted isn’t the visionary that SpaceX looks for. Cat seemed sweet but too self absorbed to understand how the world works these days. What I can’t understand is why it’s still not clicking. 5. And now he’s telling her he’s doing all these push ups when he wasn’t allowed to ride on an airplane or sit in a chair without his legs going numb due to his fake little spill down the stairs? 🚩🚩 5a. But he still said he was up for having sex b4 sending her home for the night. With his concussion, massive headaches, nerve damage, and numb legs? Then proceeds to do chores without asking for cat’s help. 🚩 🚩 6. We’re just gonna breeze past his accident that cost him a dream job and permanent brain damage? What scans were done that showed permanent brain damage. That’s a serious conclusion after one scan. 🚩🚩 7. And what about all those chores his parents left for him to do despite thinking he had a serious fall where he couldn’t drive and barely walk. Why wouldn’t she think that was weird? 🚩🚩Why didn’t prosecutors ask her what she thought of that? 8. Mitchell does not believe him. No one in the family does. When the family turns, it’s game over. So why hasn’t Cat turned? Even more confusing, why hasn’t her mom turned against him? I’d turn on my daughters boyfriend for looking at me crooked. (Additional questions I’ve thought of) 9. What happens between these phone calls and the trial bc at the trial i thought she knew the truth, but these phone calls imply she believed him. 20. And on that note, Anyone notice how much more relaxed she was with the defense attorneys? The Prosecutors had to pry words out of her mouth. Paraphrasing here. “Why did you tell Chandler to beg his parents hard to let you hang out?” “so he could hang out” “what did chandler tell you?” “that he couldn’t hang out” how about WHY did a 23 year old need permission to see his girlfriend? WHY was he grounded?? Was this normal protocol in the household prior to the months leading up to their deaths?? I just can’t see Cress being on Chandlers side here. She’s not dumb. And Let’s not forget The dude dumped his dads torso in her fucking raspberries.

I feel bad for her. She fell in love with a sociopath and did not know. She shielded herself from the media articles (as she said). She was in love with him, thought they were moving to Florida together, and likely thought they would get married and have a family. She is unable to turn her feelings off; I’m waiting to hear her pull away from him since they were no longer together at trial. She is a lovely young woman who has her whole life ahead of her. I hope that she can and has moved on. It’s bizarre that he is so matter of fact when he killed his parents in cold blood and then chopped them up (and tried to incinerate their body parts). He watched as his parents’ heads burned in the fireplace. It’s disgusting. They really don’t have much to talk about. There is no future - he destroyed many of their past memories.They can’t talk about the case. It is strange to hear each of them talk like they will be watching movies together sometime soon. I think they have *NO* chemistry at all.. the only thing that kept them together is that she felt inferior to him (because he was older and told her a ton of bs that she _chose_ to believe, probably to feel better herself) and he liked her because she is so easy to manipulate.. even by the way she talks to him you can tell that she is SO afraid of losing him or saying anything wrong so all she does is agree and play along his stupid smalltalk nonsense. it's sad, really. It is so mind boggling to even try to comprehend why Kat was standing by his side after Thanksgiving. I know that everyone was withheld a lot of information and evidence, however they knew significant information bc his father’s torso was discovered and the gun at this point. Kat’s mom and partner would have discussed this devastating development with her. What possible reasoning or excuses could he make to justify what he did??? The phone conversations are pretty dull and it’s hard for her to even carry a meaningful conversation but him always asking her what she’s doing or going to do is annoying bc it’s like he is trying to make sure she doesn’t do anything fun. He always try’s to keep making points that he will do this or that when he gets out…. Mind blowing. Does anyone else agree??? Just curious as to what you think.

Wow, I have lost ALL respect for cat and her mother. At this point I think they need further interrogation. Do you think I'd let my daughter talk to s double murderer? I'd be contacting the jail that he's NEVER to contact my daughter again. WTF IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE??????

I'd love to know how she changed from this to testifying against him in a matter of only two months. I can only assume at this point in the phone calls, she wasn't privy to all the evidence the DA had (fake jobs, lying about school, bodies dumped in places he'd been, mom's phone found wrapped in foil in their house, etc.). If she was privy to even half of the evidence against Chandler and still talking with him like this, then the sympathy I had for her at trial would be completely gone.

The DA must have listened to all these calls and was aware Cat was still all in with Chandler right up until trial. I think that's why he had her go over the 7 days of their conversations. I think she learned some things for the first time on the stand. Now after the trial, when ALL his lies came out. I REALLY hope she's not STILL in denial!

It’s a miracle! Chandlers debilitating injuries that were going to require a permanent poop bag connected to him for life have healed, by the grace of our lord! He’s so healed he sees no reason whatsoever to mention his injuries at all!

The defense tried hard to keep them out of trial successfully because they were very damming. Apparently there were over 1500 calls maid while he and his father were awaiting trial.

I have a hard time understanding how she is still calling him and talking to him this close to his trial. She really must be the most naïve person. I mean at this point a lot of the evidence to come out how could she still think he didn’t chop his parents up! He literally went over to the farm to drop off his dad’s torso when her mom was swimming in the pool.
