This is an absolute masterpiece in my humble opinion.. a perfect signature scent and is quite versatile.. I've ran through two 100ml bottles already and on my way to get my third.. Egoiste, Platinum Egoiste and Antaeus are my absolute favorites from this house..
Simply one of the best of all time and it is still a fantastic scent in 2023. Others may come and go, but Platinum Egoiste remains a timeless masterpiece. Seeing as this is the 30th anniversary of its release I wonder if Chanel might commemorate it with releasing something like a Parfum concentration. Anyway this is a wonderful review as usual good sir, love your appreciation, knowledge and enthusiasm for fragrances.

One of my all time favourites. I personally think you can rock this casual/smart casual with a crisp white tee. Great review as always and I never thought of it as Chanel’s GIT which is a good observation 👍🏼
My best friend wore this in university 20 years ago and I was wearing the original Allure Homme at the time. Now he rocks Allure Homme as his is signature scent and I'm about to pull the trigger on Platinum Egoiste!
I bought this one because of you recommendation and I absolutely adore it. It has become one of my most favorite scents of all time over the past couple of weeks. It's elegant, classy, versatile, high quality, just as you said. We had between 29 and under 10 degrees over the past couple of weeks, sunny days and also rainy days and it always smelled amazing. Can't wait to see what it smells like in winter. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this review. I most probably would've never tried it if it wasn't for you. Subscribed 👍 a breath of fresh air in the RU-vid fragrance world. Excellent review. Platinum Egoist left a huge impression on me the first time I laid my nose on it, sadly I purchased Bleu De Chanel EDP and I cannot smell it after an hour or so. I hope Platinum Egoist lasts longer than Bleu De Chanel.
Another classy review AC, I never felt the similarities with GIT previously but now you've mentioned it I can. I love my fougere fragrances and this fits in with them nicely 👍
I was blown away by this scent when I first tried it in store... its still on my purchase list... but haven't gotten around to it. Waiting to finish a bottle in my collection before I add this one, got enough fragrances already

My bread and butter perfume since 2005. Its a strictly business scent for me. Business lunch, overseas meetings, days at the office? Platinum Egoiste will get you through any of them even the long monotonous ones in stride. Great review for the current day formulation of Platinum Egoiste. I do miss the earlier formulation which to my memory projected more and lasted longer. But the thing with memory, is that I can’t tell if its true because it just is or its just that I was not exposed to as much niche houses as I have now to compare it with.. But scent wise, I still smell the same Platinum Egoiste, though again here I couldn’t tell if my scent memory is adding on to the actual scent to make them smell the same or not 🤷🏻♂️. Oh well, best to just enjoy it! Edit: I came across a sample of Hasu No Hana by Grossmith London this week and I’m considering whether I should buy a bottle of it or not.. Have you tried Hasu No Hana and any thoughts if you have?
Overall, I think Chanel men’s fragrances are more well made and well constructed than the women’s ones, for the current version, I only own Chanel 19 and Chanel 19 Poudre, the other reformulated ones are lacking the “bite”.
Great review to a fantastic scent. You sir summarized that scent perfectly. I have a great memories with this fragrance, it was my first real/expensive fragrance. Previously I was using Adidas and some cheap fragrances but I needed something better when I started my career in the corporation. I smelled it on one guy, he smelled like successful man and I loved it from the very first scent. Of course I asked the guy what it was and then bought it. I would also call it "professional". If you want to smell elegant and be considered as a professional go for it.

Iconic fragrance, almost as satisfying as AC's "Fellaaaas" opening - they both put a smile on my face every time. I have PE on my on my left arm and GIT on my right. The only difference to me is PE is more bright/sharp, and GIT more leafy-earthy. I give a slight dry down edge to Creed. Wonderful insights, touché AC!
Thanks for the review AC. I have Allure home extreme and Bleu de chanel which i love.. I also like my wife chanel chance 😊. Chanel is an exceptional designer perfume brand. Something about the DNA.
Great observation AC! Was smelling Platinum Egoiste and GIT while watching your review and I 100% agree. Another big, common element is that both of these scents are timeless, while many other interpretations of GIT smell dated in today's age. Yet another fantastic review.
This man nose is very good, imho opinion I use all except armaf legesi clone for platinum egoiste. But Aspen, git and platinum egoiste are all the same
I think you are the first reviewer to say that this was created to compete with Green irish tweed .I have never smelled g.i.t but I've owned cool water and trees nuit. I intend to purchase g.i.t this year so I'll do the comparison. Platinum always gets me compliments when I wear it to work.
One of my favourites. I can consider this to be my signature scent which can be worn on almost all occasions one can think of. But then again, this is true for most of the Chanel lineup. Please bring us something new Chanel 🙈

But then again, all are flankers or rereleases :/. When you compare that to the women's lineup, there is no comparison honestly in terms of volume...

Hey AC. After your watching your review I bought Armaf Legesi. Damn that fragrance is literally beautiful. I mean it gives a feeling like standing out from the crowd. Because most of the people prefers spicy and oud type of fragnances. But Legesi does gives a powerful performance and create beautiful aroma around. It really mixes good with air. Thank you AC.
Pour Monsieur to most noses today would smell outdated and would remind a lot of people of their granddad. PE so far has stood the test of time and is as elegant and wearable as it was 28 years ago.
My girlfriend in 1993 work at a high end department store. She got me this scent i loved it and you just reminded me im out to purchase this! I wore Chanel Antaeus, Balenciaga, habit rouge, and fahrenheit. I still use them today, can you recommend something to me?
I like it but for me its a linear fragrance that don't take me for a journey. It doesn't change like Beau de jour p.e so this is less interesting to me.
Feeellllaaaaaaas this one is better than GIT. Better value, better performance, better scent. GIT has great opening which lasts 5 minutes, then just left a cheap synthetic sandalwood
Sad that Chanel released Platinum Egoiste because the regular Egoiste didn't sell to, as they said "unsophisticated American men." Platinum Egoiste comes off with that typical "cologne guy" smell that American men seem to love.
