Today I unbox and review a brand new bottle of Chanel Pour Monsieur eau de toilette perfume. This has become a sort of a tradition for me on my channel. Each time I unbox a new bottle of Pour Monsieur edt, I film a new video to commemorate the occasion since this is one of my all time favorite fragrances. Each time I unbox a fresh new batch, I have and discover new things to say about this fragrance. Each new batch gives me new impressions and thoughts, as well as new interpretations of the classic since with each new bottle I unbox, I too evolve, from month to month and year to year... this perfume marks the ticking clock of time... as age progresses, so do my impressions of Pour Monsieur... a bitter sweet realization that our time on this planet is very short... I hope you enjoy it.

I like what you said about smelling these old perfumes and getting a sense of the beautiful things in the past, while also giving you hope for the future. Beautifully put. Just got a 30ml bottle of Pour Monsieur Concentree splash, which I decant into an atomizer to get the full effect. It is absolutely heavenly.

Your love for Pour Monsieur is so inspiring Dacob. When I picked up my latest bottle of Pour Monsieur (admittedly I prefer the EDP) a few months ago, the sales assistant exclaimed "great choice!" and seemed genuinely shocked and happy to serve someone buying anything other than Bleu for himself. I smelled the latest version of Egoiste and was shocked at how heavy the tobacco now is in the opening. It felt more woody-aromatic than woody-spicy now.

The last egoiste bottle I got was early this year and it was quite smokey. Loved it to bits. As for Pour Monsieur edp… its a fougere while the edt is a chypre. They are quite distinct in their own ways. 💖

I have to disagree - the EDP is not a fougere. Lemon opening, nutmeg heart, and oakmoss and vanilla base? They’re both great and certainly have their differences, but I think they’re both Chypres.

Hi dacob！i am a huge fan of pour monsieur too and i enjoy eau sauvage quiet a bit as well，these are two different citrus chypre fragrances in two decades，it would be so interesting if you make a comparison video about these！

I also love Chanel Cristalle and try to always have an extra bottle stocked. Can you do a video about proper fragrance storage, before and after opening? I’d love to stock up on my favorites when I hit the duty free, but fear temperature changes in my home during hot summers. I usually store in the basement, like fine wine. Haha!

i love this scent, i love it so much that i don t ware it unless i have a special day .... i do smell the bottle though almost daily, second favorite is egoiste( my favorite part is when the rose creep out from the sandlewood).

this has been on my list for years; together with antaeus, they are both favourites in the masculine line & i definitely prefer the edt. my cuir de russie is ancient & also in that same bottle with black cap & i’m so reluctant to use it more often because there are only a couple of cm left & the current version in the exclusifs line is somehow clean & filtered smelling. it’s like a young musical prodigy : very good, but still too young to play with emotional depth that comes with empirical knowledge. or perhaps i just need to get one now & let it age a decade or so before using 😂. in my opinion, chanel has the best fragrance collection among all the couture houses. each one has a very distinctive character that makes selecting it a totally conscious choice with specific expectations. 1932 extrait is on my to-buy list but i’ll need to test it first. the edp is what i gravitate to on weekends when i’m in the « casual but quietly put together » vibe, & i’m seeing the extrait as an office casual option. it has the perfect depth : neither too deep (like coco edp or even paris-venise) nor large & beautiful (like n°22 or 19 poudré) or fresh (cristalle, cristalle eau verte). also not too sweet (beige, paris-paris) or woody (bois des îles, sycomore)…. see how they are all different & ALL gorgeous ! looking forward to more scent-speak from you 💗

My favorite story behind Pour Monsieur is that Henri Robert actually convinced Mademoiselle to launch a men’s fragrance-his inspiration was Boy Capel, and it is said that when Robert first presented it to her, she cried. She also sprayed it on her pillow because it reminded of her Capel that much!

Hello Dacob, I recently picked a used/partial PM edt on ebay which is probably dating to 2000 (because the batch code is1103 and because there are no writings on the back of the bottle (new york etc). My point is that I also have a 50ml from 2017 and I must say both are interesting while being slightly different. The 2017 being more citrus and fresh, the old one being more into spices and wood notes. (For a fact the citrus notes tend to disappear whith time...) But after 1 hour it seems that both converge towards the same kind of dry notes. (Just because i know you like any feedback on your favorite perfume!;-)

Mine it says 82-124, I got it from thrift shop and it still have the old Sears price tag on it - 30 dollars, I wonder if vintage and real ones smells different? I gotta go to shop and try smell it

So, the airlines let you bring full size bottles again, or are you talking about check in luggage when you mentioned always bring those two with you when you travel?

None of the above. Airlines always allowed up to 100ml per liquid containers or bottles as long as they are in the transparent carry on plastic bag. This Pour Monsieur bottle is 100ml.

Wow, really? They took my husband's cologne , right after 9/11. He was upset , as he got it in Germany ( before 9/11). He was in the military still, so took a military flight home. When he tried flying commercial a few months later, they confiscated it, along with other peoples stuff.
