Hey guys, its me Dacob! Welcome to my new channel all about perfume, fragrance and scent. This is the new home for all my old and new perfume related videos. Be sure to subscribe and help this channel grow!
Hi Dacob, thank you so much for the inspiration. I was thinking of my next Chanel perfume buy and had a difficult time to decide however I decided now to order Gabrielle Parfum and I am 100% sure that I will love it 🥰 I don’t own any of the other Gabrielle versions as they have not been that interesting to me but this one sounds divine!! Thanks a lot from me in Sweden 🇸🇪
This is so interesting. Thanks for sharing. My problem is that I love scented candles. I have one candle that I love so much that I try to keep 40 in my collection at all times. I burn it daily but can no longer smell it or I smell it very lightly. This makes a lot of sense. I just hope I can get my smell back for my fave candle.
Except some of us respect the timings of the brands and do not reveal leaked intel that the brands do not want leaked. You should learn a thing or two about respect before you blabber away.
My mother had Joy. I remember it from the 50's but I was a little girl. I remember her telling me it was VERY expensive. Then in the 80's I wanted to buy it when I was in Macy's, but for $600 I had to pass. So, $600 back then would be totally out of reach now if they were to continue to manufacture it. So, for the most part, men find this scent repulsive. Is it just as repulsive when they smell it on a woman? I just ordered a bottle and now I'm worried men will find me disgusting! Lol.
I’m only now getting myself perfumes and I noticed that unfortunately the perfume community is truly mostly about telling you about the new releases. “What to buy” is probably the most common on short format. I don’t blame influencers, but I truly would love if someone could just sit you down and say EXACTLY what you said on the video you mentioned. It’s hard to navigate scents without feeling them, but your video makes more sense to me and it’s something I can do in a store near me, even if I live in Brazil.
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 Scheduled to arrive on the 7th will let you know 😄 From what ive heard it's close to Allure home sport but more creamy and musky
Hey friend 🤗 Olivier might be trying to tip toe in the male territory, it may be a masculine Gabrielle... like a new Chanel area for men's fragrances too. So, let's give it a try!😊 Love you ❤❤❤❤
I will most certainly get a bottle just not sure it will be full blown head over heels in love type of love but who knows… I am always open for it to happen haha 💖💖💖
I tested this a few days ago. I thought the woody/patchouli dry down was quite beautiful, it had a “Italian leather but it’s not leather” accord I couldn’t put my finger on. It’s heartening to see the brand invest in a line which is already over 20 years old.
Totally out of the blue… but you know Chanel the legacy better than me aspirational peasant. 😂 I was in shook when I clicked on your video. I guess that Chanel want to connect with the Italian market. I like the nuance that you gave about the surname of the perfume. …rewatch crew!! 🩶😃
8:24 I agree with you, it will create FoMo like crazy on the grey marked. Fingers crossed that the patchouli is ‘natural’ enough, deep (Aromatics Elixir style) and I look forward for the citruses & the Aldehydes🥰 thank you for telling us first hand about this [wonderfull] news. Take care of yourself, Dacob 💖
Thank you Thomas. 💖💫 The collaboration concept in perfumes is new to Chanel and it does come off as tacky to me too but who knows, maybe this is opening some new doors with more experimentations in the future? Probably not, but one can dream. Haha
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 thanks for your reviews it’s so hard looking at everything online I’m in the country well out back in Australia, the boutiques are far away… so instead of taking a gamble I brought a perfume kit (proper chemistry set up) instead. Going to let you know how I got with the blends and if it’s a good kit. Thanks for your reviews
Dear Dacob, thank you for wonderful content. From day one I love listening to your smart views, enjoying your humor, all the stories around perfumes, history, society. Your channel is a true gem and I thank the algorithm for showing me your content in the first place. 🥰
Actually, superleggiera was attached in that font on the hood of Conneryes aston db5,waaay back in the days....so it has a pretty long tradition and sport heritage....interestimg collab....
I had blind bought the 125ml..well...🥴 I get the licorice 🤦🏻♀️ and well..licorice scent just doesnt work with me. I put it away to macerate a few months. pray for me lolol because I really want to love HP ❤
Oh the whole "Collab" thing for Chanel is so cringe I think. What are they doing over there? 😢 Anyway, I smelled Gabrielle Leau yesterday, saturated myself with it. They had no samples.. Anyhow, I thought it was lovely as you said in your review. I sprayed a lot on my clothes, so lasted a while that way, and, suprisingly, on my wrists I could still smell that lovely drydown later into the evening on my skin. Thanks as always for your review of the "man" ( though we know frags know no gender) perfume. I really am not a fan of any of of the "Man" perfumes, except the fabulous Pour Monsieur! Such a masterpiece ❤❤❤❤
So glad you enjoyed Gabrielle L’Eau Patrice 🥰💖💫 As for the new “man”… I will give it a go and test it out to see where it takes me… so we shall see. I am however not expecting much to be hones but not expecting much does allow me to be less disappointed haha. As for their male offerings, I too put Pour Monsieur edt on first place followed by Egoiste edt and Antaeus and also Allure Homme edt (the original). 🥰
No idea what the collaboration means but it feels very unisex with all that patchouli. I’ll certainly add this to my collection if it becomes available here. None of my male family members wear Allure (yet ;)) I have a few Chanel watches. I most frequently wear the larger men’s J12 but I do have the premiere watch which they have just relaunched along with a couple of others. Im glad that you mentioned repair as a couple need to go in for battery replacement. I’m kinda happy to see that this special edition is manual. That’s perfect for the occasional wearer. I’m surprised that there isn’t any gemstone decoration on a 45k watch (black diamond markers or somesuch would’ve been nice.)
There are a few different models. Yes. I just highlighted the one to make a point about this perfume. After all, this is a perfume channel and not a watch or car channel so I also wonder why Chanel would do a car ad on a perfume… haha
I love the look of the bottle. Could do without the logo at the bottom. I’m hoping it will smell like a cross between AHS and Dior Homme Sport minus the lemon. The men’s Chanel watches give free gift with purchase so I don’t know why anyone would spend almost $50 k on it. Sporty watches shouldn’t be priced more than 5 k at most. IMO I like the elegance of a rectangle watch, particularly that of Cartiers tank watches which are still priced fairly for now.
About the feminine form of the word; in many historic and ancient cultures respected and worthwhile things get feminine essence and form for example many countries and lands name have feminine form like America, Persia, frankia, Italia. However in this case chanel has designed and released it modern, which means they wanted to elevate identity of the brand superledgera with help of chanel the great reputation. I wish wouldn't downfall of chanel however I have no hope.
So you think Chanel was trying to do Superleggera a favor by making a perfume with their name on it? But why would they want to do that? Are they buying the company maybe?
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 It's difficult to say, we know they don't need to take money from these kinda brands or even they don't need to buy them. In this era being noble and origin is condemned unfortunately, people respect low quality copy cats and blame noble brands. Even brilliant brands try to lose their originality to be popular. I think chanel wants to be a pop brand by this decision, wants to grab attention of ordinary nonprofessional people. Chanel wants to adapt itself to this ridiculous era. You know. Most of great fashion and fragrance brands lose their heritage and persona sfter death of their founder and get confused to choose right and wrong.
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 i think they aren't buying ut, when you want to buy something you try to buy it cheap. Actually they even don't need to buy it. it's difficult to say. But we know in this era novelty and originality is condemned unfortunately, people respect low quality copy cats and blame original brands. I think chanel wants to become a pop brand, wants to grab attention of ordinary nonprofessional people. Probably Chanel wants to adapt itself to this lost era. As many good brands did. It seems chanel wants to become similar to brands like Ferrari, popular, shiny and absurd. You know. Most of brilliant brands loses their heritage and persona after death of the founder and get culturally confused. Chanel did a great great job to last till this and unfortunately it seems its fall is coming. It was one of few last standing brands. Maybe we will have to prepare ourselves for a sad farewell to chanel.
There's another new Maison Margiela Replica fragrance coming out soon. It's called Afternoon Delight, and it's a gourmand. I love those Replica fragrances, so I'm really excited about that!
Ooooooh! I just got my younger brother Allure Homme Sport Extreme (he's one of those people who has one/maybe two fragrances), and he loved it...hoping this new one is released widely enough for me to grab a bottle!
The prices are ridiculous, BUT I really like perfume oils in hot, humid climates and to perfume hair. I have the no.5 body oil and use it frequently. I can't test these or it will hurt my wallet.
Wow. Amen sis. Fraud is very real and that’s what I’ve been saying for a while now. LV imagination is very that for me. I love love love the first few minutes. It’s so bright and so fresh, but then it dries down to nothing special. So disappointing. :/
Being a life-time lover of Chanel No.19 ( and sadly missing the 1980's real oakmoss formulation so,so much ) a few months ago I decided to give this a try due to a Chanel advisor telling me there were reflections of the grassy No.19 in this. I really liked the fragrance, however within 5 minutes I could no longer smell anything on my skin. I tried again throughout the day at various times but no - there was nothing. So upset, as for the price I did expect a certain amount of longevity on my skin. I contacted the store I purchased from and they allowed me to return for a refund. I don't know if it was the particular batch but I will not give up with this and may try again at some point !
Chanel perfumes and especially les exclusifs need to macerate for some time and need oxygen to ripen in my opinion so my bottles of the les exclusifs fragrances all start smelling deeper and longevity gets better with time. Having said that, I do not expect big longevity from all expensive perfumes. Some are just made to last a short while and with some it fits nicely. Bel Respiro has a great lasting power on me but I also binge on it. I do not spray sparingly 😅
Great you review this one! I bought it for my partner 3 years ago for his birthday and I love it so much on him! Funny, it is a bit like you say: it smells very clean and fresh in the morning when he puts it on. You can still smell it in the evening but then the smell has turned a bit ‘dirty’ - still very attractive! 🤩
I wore this one to death when I was 25 when it came out but then I discovered pour monsieur by Chanel and it’s been my signature ever since , I recently got 75ml edp which I love as it’s modern old school and lasts ages
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 love that aswell but unfortunately my 54 year old skin eats it in an hour or 2 , I bought myself no 5 leau yesterday and I really like it decent longevity aswell for an edt , hope you have a lovely my friend keep up the great work x
