I am a single guy who sits behind a desk all day for work, and I was able to follow these instructions and replace my whining motor. The hardest part was getting the motor assembly to sit back down into its place so that I could screw the three screws back in. That took some finessing and a lot of wiggling. I also had to disconnect the electrical in order to pull out the electrical box. I just took a picture of the wiring and did it in reverse when reassembling. Over all, if you are wondering if you can do this, I would say if you feel moderately comfortable with your technical abilities, you can handle it. Really appreciate the repair videos from the manufacturer.
C and H delivered 1 of my 5 mini splits with a bad motor. Well I think it was. Could have been my installers wiring who knows. Anyway I called them and asked what to do about it. Not only did they pick up the phone. They talked with my installers trouble shooting everything. Fixed everything with knowledge. Also no questions asked sent me a new motor for one of them. Pretty amazing in this day and age to have that kind of customer service. Thanks C&H for standing behind your product. It meant a lot knowing I was not just hosed after buying a big 5 unit system on Amazon. I was nervous I’m not going to lie. Lol

My sophia is significantly different from the model in your video. Different cover screw location, different grill (3pcs) different electrical connections, and directional louvers. Cleaned out end of fan with q-tip, motor rod is flush with inside of fan, no set screw to detach.
I have a split system and my fan motor went bad along with the main board the first year and now the second one has gone bad. They have been very helpful with the parts and warranty and everything although it’s definitely a mission to do this yourself.This video is definitely helpful thank you although it’s much different when you’re working up high in your the ceiling on the wall .
Sorry I do not know the part numbers I used my serial number and contacted them and they were able to give me a new motherboard and a new motor. The reason I got a new motherboard is because on my other unit as soon as I changed the motor. The motherboard went bad right after and apparently that’s very normal so as a failsafe, they give you both
Cooper and Hunter sorry been replying on the public comments. My unit differs from your demo. Different louvers, no rod going through the body of fan. 3 grill sections. End of motor shaft barely visible flush with fan. Different electrical box as well. Very dirty fan, but cleaned enough to just see inside end. No gap for anything b/t blades
