James Nestor’s book is great. There are little tweaks in there that will significantly change your life for the better. I highly recommend it for everyone.
Anecdotal, but I've noticed my own deviant breathing patterns and corrected them via emotional state analysis. My focus was more cerebral oxygenation (combatting brain fog and augmenting weightlifting performance), but the process exposed various anxiety vectors I could then address. The knowledge this man has accumulated is extremely valuable. Skip the self-experimentation and look into this.
@Elliot My main triggers were parasitic thoughts, fyi. I imagine it's a huge component of any conversation on the topic. It's crazy how we end up being our own tormenters.
@Elliot Exactly. That particular mental process became completely dysfunctional in that it was rooting me to a false reality. I had coped with trauma via anger leveraging, and got stuck in that deviant biomechanical loop. I'd say the short term benefits were undeniable, but clearly not sustainable.
Amazing content Chris, thank you for this interview. I've been struggling with my breathing for the last few years, but I never took the time to dive into it and realise that I do have a problem. Will work on it from now on. I guess, sometimes we need someone to remind us. ❤️💪🏼 Keep up the amazing work you are doing.
thats because evryone claims to know the right way...but none trully succeeded with anything....getting bombarded with self help guides and courses on youtube etc is really maddness....the "life coaches" are sprouding out the ground...i understand that people that came from a onhealthy negative depressed lifestyle that get better after an awakening and come to awareness wanne help others...but its to much... u can't see the forest for the trees....
@Elliot oh no...i am doing (planning on doing way more) but u need to build it up slowly...if i think of the list of the things i should be doing and c'ant do...(the goals i have)...and what i "can" do atm...(its really bad) i am so weak... because of my body that i poluted and neglected for over 20 years...people really need to slow down indeed...start with the fundementals...but thats not what people are getting from the current meta...because of all the (money drainer games ) people need to understand the whole package...(but not many people wanne do the whole package...)
@@privatprivat7279 It doesn't help that most "coaches" spout metaphysical platitudes with zero practical benefit. Seems to me the root causes of the collective malaise are never truly addressed. Truly "fixing" people today is tantamount to removing them from the consumer base, and thus terrible for business.
My question is when I started mouth taping a few days age my digestion greatly improved within 2 days faster than better sleeping I'm not sure why any answers ? Thanks you sir.
Now I just need to find a guru who can teach me how to make my nasal passages stay open wide enough and for long enough to breathe through my nose without literally suffocating.
Dr John Douillard taught me this years ago, his book ‘mind, body, sport’. Thanks for spreading health!!! 👍the world of modern science is finally catching up to Ayurveda.
Much respect from Amsterdam mate! Saw ur podcast with imho (one of) da pundit(s) on how the mind works, Peter Crone aka Da Mind Architect and looking forward to this interview with imho (one of) da pundit(s) on why ur breath is so important. It makes me really happy to see young blokes like u talking wisdom and being already that awaked within their journey. Namaste
One pattern I notice with top breath work coaches is their rapid blinking of the eyes, which concerns me, it seems that their nervous system is stressed in a way.... anyone else notice this?
Hunter Focus I was told as a kid to close my mouth or I’ll catch flies. Also notice when you nose breathe almost all the time, is that you naturally pool saliva around the teeth. Drying out the teeth can lead to more cavities.
Been loving the podcasts dude truely an inspiration, on the topic of breathing a podcast with Wim hof would be awesome, been doing his breathing and cold excercise for a while and its amazing highly reccomend looking into it !
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Permit me to make one observation however; there is one glaring omission when speaking of the monks and that is prayer. Ne timeas.
