Channel plans and self-reflection: Embracing a witchy winter reset for 2024 ❄️ 

Your channel is definitely one of my very favorites and a large reason is because of your authenticity. So it's wonderful that you're prioritizing your joy in relation to your creative energy. Book covers for decoration 💯 they are absolutely a piece of art 🖼 The horror oracle deck is super cool. I love the idea for the book-movie club, there are a lot of great classic adaprations of horror books and they are new remakes every year, so there will be so much to read and watch 🖤

I love a good simmer pot in the winter. I also love your decor and that you decorate with books! Great use of the oracle deck. Such a cool gift. I have high hopes for the new Nosferatu 🤞🏻

I absolutely love this. Resetting yourself for the new year. I looove your desk and decorating with books and dvds is such a smart way to show off the awesome covers out there. That oracle deck too, love it! I've not dabbled with oracle decks, just tarot, but I've been wanting to soon. I also prioritized reading Frankenstein this year, along with Dracula and maybe even Dr. Jekyll. We'll see as the year progresses!

I will definitely be taking part in January's reading and viewing of The Shining. I love the novel and the Kubrick film. The miniseries...not so much, but I know it is supposed to be the more faithful adaptation. Edit: One of the things I love so much about your channel is your authenticity. You read what you are in the mood to read and build the video's theme around that. You don't feel the need to read the "buzzy" books of the moment, and I mean no shade to other BookTubers that do that. You are just inviting us along on your all-things-spooky journey, not chasing views. I hope that does not sound mean. I apologize if it does.

Happy new year Lauren!🎉 I’m looking forward to The Shining watch-along 🥶 My reading goal this year is to slow down. My goal is one book a week. In the past I’ve felt like I’m speeding through my current read to get to my next and in the process maybe not getting all that I could out of a book. I’ve already found myself wanting to fall back to old habits but I’m keeping myself in check, so far at least 😂 I also bought a very basic book journal so that I can look back on my reads and remember them a little more clearly. As always, I love your channel 🙂

What a fun way to start the year! I definitely want to focus on reading more horror this year since I focused a lot on fantasy in 2023. I've also been back and forth with creating content and going MIA so I am planning to do some hard thinking about whether content creation is right for me and if I have the willpower for it lol

I do simmer pots all the time but what a lovely combination for positive energy, protection, and intentions! I will have to try this recipe soon! 2024 is going to be a big boundary year for me I think and I am feeling so deeply called back to my tarot practice. I just filmed a tarot video but haven't decided if I am brave enough to post yet. I love the idea of using book covers as decor, why have I never thought of this before?!

I love the Chucky series! It is so impressive that Don Mancini has his hands on every movie and the TV show. The movies change in tone from 80's slasher, to absolute campy, to legit horror. They are all great in their own way. I get what you're saying about Rosemary's Baby. I have struggled with that also because I don't want to support a dirtbag but I also don't want to throw out the baby with the bath water. Mia Farrow chose to do that movie and chose her acting career over her marriage to Frank Sinatra. He demanded that she quit the movie and quit acting and just stay home and be a little wife. I guess he thought he was going to throw it in her face by serving her divorce papers on the set of the movie. Honestly it probably fueled a lot of the fire in her and we got such an iconic performance. I don't want to forget all of the other people it took to make that movie. All of their talent and their effort shouldn't be wasted because of the one bad name that's attached to it. That's just my opinion on it, I also respect that people want nothing to do with it because of the director. This was such a great video and it's inspiring me to make some goals for myself in 2024.

Ooooh fancy! Simmer pot heck yeah. Ooooh cool Oracle Deck nice. My ringer has been on silent for like.....YEAAAARS hahaha my parents hate it lol. I am ALL for you taking a step back and work on ensuring you enjoy your life. OH you need to read the non-fiction 'In Search of Frankenstein' after you read Frankenstein. Frankenstein You should create like a mini-movie club for the Universal horror films. Because I would totally be down to rewatch a bunch of em. Chucky is pretty incredible but don't let the 2000s ones stop you, they have some borederline offensive aspects (I find Seed pretty tasteless but I know others don't) but the show and franchise really course correct that. The Omen yesss that is technically a movie novelization haha but it is written by the screenwriter (I haven't read it yet). Pumped for this year!

I always appreciate the ever-changing genre decor. It looks like you have a busy year ahead. The scariest Universal Monster movie is Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. Not even kidding. If you have time and you haven't watched them yet you should check out the Val Lewton movies from the 1940s. Protofeminist horror with interesting female characters.
